Hello,
Reaching out to find out how I can support my daughter through a difficult breast abscess journey. She had a baby 4 months ago, was diagnosed with mastitis in week 6, completed 2 courses of antibiotics, then mastitis turned to breast abscess. She stopped breast feeding after 6 weeks and had surgery (initial cut) and an additional procedure to open another wound (another cut next to initial cut) to drain the abscess and it's going into 3 months now. Surgeon told her 6 months to heal. What's been your experience ?
I've been asking around to find out if there is a support group for breast abscess, any materials or information so I can help my daughter speed up the healing and recovery. So far, everyone I talk to says "I never heard of this situation before". Seems there is limited resources. Hoping this group can assist.
