Drain vs no drain

in Surgery - Before, During, and After

I assumed I would have drains after my mastectomy, but my surgeon says he prefers not to use them and we will greatly reduce risk of infection.
What is your experience if you didn’t have drains?? Did you have seroma?

    @donnadonna, we're sorry you have to go through this, but really glad you found us, joined our community and decided to post for support.

    While some people have done well without drains, seromas can sometimes occur. Here’s an article from our main site about Surgery Risks and Side Effects that might be helpful.
