14 year survivor, high platelet count WORRIED

Hi, friends! Welp…I'm 14 years out of Er+, PR-, Her2+, Stage 2, grade 3 cancer. Did all the things…BMX, lots of chemo, Herceptin…yadda yadda.

I had some blood work done last month and my platelet count is at 465…high. I haven't had any recent surgeries or been on antibiotics. I'm worried it's a sign of recurrence. I usually don't get too worried about the little blips and things over the years…but I'm worried right now. Anyone know anything about a high platelet count this many years out? of course I discovered this via a portal at night. WHEN will I learn not to look at a portal at night?! I put in a message to my survivorship team and am hoping to hear, but I just needed to put this out in the universe without freaking out my family. Thanks for listening.

A platelet count can be elevated for many many reasons that are not related to cancer. Typically infections, inflammation, certain medications (including herbal and over the counter) alcohol etc.

Certainly discuss with your team. Good luck!
