Confused about Mammogram Results

I received a call back but they can't get me in for 3 weeks. Just received my report today. I'm confused about what they mean 6mm density.
Breast Composition Category C: The breasts are heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses..
There is a 6 mm density in the right breast posterior depth superior region seen on the mediolateral oblique view only.
What do they mean 6mm density? Is that the same as a 6mm mass?
Not excited for the waiting and worrying…. Anyone's thoughts or similar experiences will be much appreciated, good or bad. Thanks!

Hi @dfwjen, A"6mm density in breast" likely refers to the measurement of breast tissue density, which is the amount of fibrous and glandular tissue compared to fatty tissue and is determined by a mammogram. Here is an article on dense breasts, that may be helpful.
The waiting is never easy, we get it. We're here for you and keep us posted. 😊0
