How long after your diagnosis did you stop getting bloodwork to check tumor markers?

I am 5 years out from my stage 1 diagnosis, and I have been getting the bloodwork done every six months since then. They now want me to start getting it done once every year indefinitely. Is this normal? When did you stop?

Did you know that some doctors do not do tumor markers at all as they are considered unreliable for many? I have never had tumor markers done and my medical facility does not use them. That being said, I would follow your doctors recommendation and perhaps express your concerns to him/her. Take care

I am three years out from a stage 2 diagnosis and have never had my tumor markers checked. My MO is one who does not think they are reliable.

@orangeflower Hi! My MO also didn't advise to do markers. She said for early breast cancer not useful given reliability.
