My initial treatment plan by team was radiation with 5 years of hormone blockers. I was surprised by oncologist when I went to discuss…

Refusing AI Treatment
I I have decided that I'm going to quit taking my AI medicines. I became suicidal, depressed, full of anxiety, feel like I'm going crazy, legs aching in pain. I am diagnosed with stage 1 ER positive invasive ductal carcinoma. I've had a lumpectomy and one month of radiation. I have dense breasts. I have decided that the…

Treatment options/what to choose
I was presented with two options today. First option is chemotherapy for 4 sessions, once every 3 weeks followed by radiation and tamoxifen. Second option is radiation followed by ovarian suppression and an aromatase inhibitor. They both obviously come with their own challenges. I’m looking for anyone who chose the ovarian…

First Mammogram after treatment
I have my first mammogram after treatment on May 13 and I am really nervous. I know that it should be okay, because they got it all with clean margins and no lymph node involvement. But I have test anxiety for sure. Also, I had a seroma develop in the arm pit area and it had to be drained twice and leaked out of the…

Lumpectomy with radiation vs bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction
Have any of had to make this decision? I have stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma in my left breast…right is fine. I’ve only to been to one surgeon and she said the decision is mine…either decision will result in the same survival rate. Deciding on getting a second opinion? I don’t know which procedure has the longer term…

Stage 1, grade 1 and pre-menopausal
hi sisters, It has struck me that most grade 1, stage 1 sisters seem to be post-menopausal (aka low estrogen) and younger women seem to be more often stage 2/grade 2. I am 42, recently diagnosed ER positive, still full of estrogen and becoming a little paranoid that there is something different about me or my cancer! I am…

Yearly Scans
I was diagnosed in at the end of July 2021. Stage 1, low Ki67 - 3%, 4 nodes removed, none with cancer. Had lumpectomy and radiation only, no chemo, and I am not taking hormone blockers because the benefit - for me - was less than 1% and my oncologist agreed. I had a tough time with my scans last year, as my BCS was the one…

Feeling the "Imposter Syndrome" - Early Stage Cancer - Do I really count?
Okay this may seem weird and self serving. I know that I am fortunate to have my cancer caught early. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Had a lumpectomy and will start radiation this week. Not a long course from what I understand but I'm getting radiation and then hormone therapy, Estrogen +. I know how incredibly fortunate I am…

Chemo VS no chemo: early stage ER+, HER- Grade 2 cancer
After my lumpectomy I was recommended chemo by my MO, but from what I understand about the tumor board discussions it doesn't seem to me like a strong recommendation, and the MO also said we do whatever I feel is right. As a result I am going back and forth on whether to do chemo or not! I had a 45mm tumor and 2 lymph…

Chemo or no Chemo? 😬
Hi Everyone, I am 30 years old and was recently diagnosed with stage 1A breast cancer and had a double mastectomy about 3 weeks ago. I just got my results back for the oncotype and the dr recommends chemo. The score came back 19 out of 100, which means there's a 6% chance of it coming back, but that percentage doubles…

Mammograms! I hate going for Mammograms.
I dont think there is anything that freaks me out more than my yearly mammogram. The fear is overwhelming even though I have had 11 years of normal mammograms after my stage 1 breast cancer. It is incredible how something so life saving can simply cause immense stress and anxiety for me.Chalk up the shortage of mammogram…

Anyone have problems with fatigue prior to diagnosis?
I've been reading on the mayo clinic's website about the many possible causes of fatigue during chemo (I'm in my 3rd chemo cycle); one that is mentioned is that the cancer itself can cause fatigue. I was diagnosed in May with Stage 1 IBC, a 1.1cm tumor, no node involvement. It seems unlikely to me that it would have caused…

Cysts - Do I need to do anything? Im still worrying.
A small (4mm) cyst was found in my left breast in my annual mammogram in January, 2021. I had a follow-up mammogram and ultrasound 6 months later (July 2021) as recommended by the radiologist. That test showed the cyst had increased in size to 5mm. I had another mammo and ultrasound 6 months after that, (January 2022) and…
