Suspicous Masses -Unable to see and Biopsy via Ultrasound

Hi Everyone. After 3 weeks of waiting for an ultrasound and biopsy of two suspicious masses- Bi-Rad 4, the ultrasound technician was unable to see my masses bc of my extremely dense breasts. Now i have to wait another 3 1/2 weeks for an MRI guided biopsy.Has anyone else gone through this?

@kcarey28 Ugh I'm sorry to hear your wrapped up in this anxiety provoking situation! We have all been there in some form or another and understand how hard the wait is. I have not been in this exact situation but wanted to let you know we are here for support. The younger you are the more dense breast tissue can be which makes visualization more difficult. So better for the radiologist to get the most accurate biopsies with MR.

In the meantime try to keep yourself as busy as possible as I'm sure you are with two young children. I know how scary it can be but remember nothing has been diagnosed yet. As I always say there is nothing more definitive than an actual tissue biopsy. So we hope for the best and prepared ourselves for the worst. Sending strength and positive vibes your way.♥️

And, it is highly, highly unlikely that the wait will compromise your health in any way. I understand how worrisome this is (we all do!) Breast cancer, even the suspicion of bc, is not a medical emergency though it can feel like it. There can be a fair amount of testing and waiting, depending on each person’s circumstances, but it will not compromise your health. Take deep breaths and distract yourself as much as possible. Take care

Thank you for your responses. Two more weeks to go until the biopsy. I am trying to keep myself very busy and compartmentalize the worry. But i'm just exhausted. Thanks for your support.
