Pain

Hello, I am going on 7 years cancer free. I had a mastectomy with reconstruction and nipple sparing. I have been having pain/pressure in the area where the cancer was. The pain has been some time now. I have an upcoming appointment at Mayo soon but I'm concerned. The pain/pressure also radiates to my back behind my armpit and the nipple is extremely tender. Is this something I should truly be concerned about.

Thank you for taking the time to read

    jpl1975,

So sorry about the concerns that brought you here. It does make us worry when we have been diagnosed previously. Unfortunately, we are not doctors or medical professionals (and even a doctor wouldn’t be able to say much based on post). It is excellent that you have an upcoming appointment as that’s the path you need to be on to determine what might be causing the symptoms.
Though it might not be easy, try to distract yourself and tread lightly with Dr. Google. He is good for general info but a terrible diagnostician. Take care

@jpl1975 we are sorry for your concerns, and do agree with @exbrnxgrl . It's important to have it looked at, and scanned, just to know the best strategy for treating the pain. Meaning, you need to know if it is a backache from something else like a disc, or otherwise.

We are here for you, and indeed, try to distract yourself with things that help you stay calm.

    Sending hugs, Your Mods
