Pea sized lump - Fibro?

hi all! Well I’ve had many mammos and ultrasounds over the years for dense breasts with lots of lumps, and one biopsy in 2019 for 2 fibros that were overlapping.

No cancer and after being on the watch list for 2.5 years I went back to normal testing.

A couple weeks back I did a self exam and found a very different kind of lump, pea/marble sized kind of lodged into my left outer breast area. It’s got me a tad stressed, so I went to my dr and I told her I wasn’t going to tell her a thing…she could just find it. And within seconds she said ok I feel it and let me clock that for radiology.

So it’s not my imagination and my mammo and us are may 7th. They said I’ll know that day if there’s anything to worry about.

Question…my other fibros (and other lumps) always feel like scar tissue almost and a mammo found the fibros not me.

Did you have a fibro that felt like a marble?

I am so sorry that you have this worry. If one could definitely tell by feel what something was or wasn’t, then there would be no need for imaging. Unfortunately that’s not how it works and regardless of what others have felt, their experiences have no predictive value. Yes, this is frustrating (a lot of the testing/diagnostic process moves slowly) and stressful but if the US and mammo should yield some more definitive pieces to your puzzle. None of this waiting and periods of unknowns is easy and almost all of us can relate. Here’s hoping for the best.,

It’s helpful to hear from others, I feel more at ease when people share similar stories.
