Chemo curls?

who else has hair coming in EXTREMELY curly?! I’m wondering if it’s here to stay or just “chemo curls” and will subside. My dad has extremely curly hair so wasn’t sure what was happening! My hair used to be dirty blond and slightly wavy now it’s almost BLACK with LOTS of curls. Who else?!

It's really common. If you look back through old posts you'll see that it pretty much "comes with the territory", if you will. Curls and color changes. Mine came in curly too, but it eventually just went back to it's old self. I was blonde and wavy as a child, then "dirty blonde" and wavy, and now "mouse brown" and wavy. My experience was that my hair came back in fine and super curly after chemo (actually with Taxol), and then again, it gradually just reverted to it's old self. Good luck with your treatment. I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this.

My chemo curls were the one bright spot in all of this. They are beautiful. The hair from my scalp to my chin is straight, my curls are below that now and past my shoulders. It's time to cut it, but I don't want to, because then I will have straight hair again.

The first time I had chemo I got the chemo curls when my hair started to grow back. The first 2 inches of growth were curly and really fine like baby hair. After that my hair reverted to it's normal straightness and texture. I'm curious to see if the same thing happens after I finish up my current round of chemo, especially since I'm getting different chemo drugs this time as compared to the first time around.
