Are mammograms effective?

I have read that there are studies showing the rate of cancer is no better for those who get regular mammograms when compared with those who haven't had them. Also, mammograms have been linked to causing cancers. I plan to thoroughly research this and, if true, I may ask my healthcare team for an ultrasound instead. What do you all think?
I don't want to de-rail anyone here from their treatment plans. I'm just a firm believer in taking charge of my own health. Fyi, I'm 1.5 years since lumpectomy, and had a clean mammo.

Hi, Here is a link comparing US vs Mammo and efficacy. Sometimes the risk outweighs the measure. Make sure your resource's are credible regarding mammo. We all know early detection is the key so I question how the cancer rate would be the same for both groups. Speak with your provider for sure to make a safe an informed decision. Your not derailing anyone here , we all advocate for ourselves as you do. Best wishes and glad to hear you're doing well and had a clean mammo! Congrats.
