DCIS high grade- ER+

Hello
I am new here. I was diagnosed with DCIS high grade in April on my left breast. I have DMX scheduled for next month. I’ve been reading that DCIS does not have any symptoms. But I’ve been having sharp pain (like electric shock kinda pain); throbbing pain, very itchy around my breast area. Couple days ago I noticed my left areola area got wider, my nipple is flatter than my right breast and there was a whitish dry discharge like on my nipple.
I had told my doctor about my pain when I was first diagnosed, he kinda said it like it was just me. That DCIS have no symptoms or pain.
I am so confused, lost, and anxious.
Has anyone had any symptoms?

Puabear: I am not an expert, but want to respond because no one has yet. Generally, DCIS does not have symptoms. You still need to have your final diagnosis that doesn’t occur until after your Mx. More could be going on with your breast, most of which are benign or you could be hyper focused on your breast. Once I had been diagnosed with DCIS and before my mastectomy, I had so many symptoms that I had myself convinced I had cancer throughout my body! This is a very stressful time. Your concerns are so typical. Be kind to yourself and try to accept these symptoms without assuming anything until you have all the facts. It’s been almost 12 years for me now and none of my fears ever materialized. Such wasted time and energy for nothing. All the best to you.

About me - My report shows high grade DCIS / ADH. Not sure about which one.
High grade DCIS is a type of very early stage of breast cancer(can be considered stage 0). It is good that you have found out early. The cancer cells haven't spread or it is only inside the milk ducts. This is only the starting stage, you can easily get rid of this. General options for treatment involves surgery as the most popular. Other treatments involve hormone therapy, radiation therapy and its combinations. The symptoms you mentioned except pain are related to DCIS. The pain may indicate high abnormal cell growth and requires immediate treatment.Be confident in your recovery no matter how things go worse, because that's more important than any other form of treatment. Its normal to feel depressed and sad within yourself. But what's important is to overcome the sadness and believe that you can get well. Your family stands with you no matter what and with that you can face anything. I pray for your fast recovery. May God heal you soon!
