Bi rads 5 on a holiday weekend sigh

Went in Friday for my call back diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. 1 hour of mammogram pictures including magnified images. Then half hour ultrasound by technician followed by doctor coming in and doing scan as well. You know things aren’t great when they keep looking at you like you should be freaking out.
Results…bi rads 5. Left breast Segmentally distributed fine calcifications to the nipple. As well as a 4x4x6 mm mass that is irregular, hypoechoic, and has internal vascularity.

I’ve read Bi-Rads 5 is 95% cancer, anyone with similarities have it not be cancer?

Because I found out on a Friday late afternoon and a holiday weekend I cannot get scheduled for biopsies until they open on Tuesday. They want me to get ultrasound guided biopsy on the mass and a stereotactic one on the calcifications.
UPDATE: Biopsy now scheduled for tomorrow.

Hi @hopeful2075, I’m sorry about your Birads5 imaging. There are a couple of people who have posted with the same classification and ended up with a benign biopsy so there is still hope. I sympathize with your worry. I was sent straight from a screening mammogram to a biopsy so I also had that feeling of inevitability. Waiting for the biopsy and the results is hard. I hope you are one of the lucky 5%. If not this site is a great place for information and support. All the best.
