hysterectomy and oophorectomy
I am Having a hysterectomy and oophorectomy next week via robot but my fibroids have made it too big to come out my vagina. I have to do this because the Lupron was not working to suppress my ovaries. (I think they are just bitter I've never used them) What kinds of healing expectations should I have? I'm a little unclear if I should expect bleeding or not? Also I tend to have higher pain than regular people (I am a red-head). Can anyone who has gone through this before give me a realistic expectation?

Hi there, I'm a redhead too and had a salpingoophrectomy several years ago. I can't comment on the exact procedure you're having but do want to envisage you to talk with all the doctors handling your care about your concerns with pain. The redhead effect is real and I think some in the medical field are recognizing this. Good luck!
