Dr. Courneya was the lead investigator of the CHALLENGE trial, which found that a three-year exercise program after chemotherapy for stage III colon cancer improved both disease-free and overall survival. This is the firs time a study showed that exercise improved overall survival. Dr. Courneya thinks the results may have implications for breast cancer.
