Long term success stories of stage 1 triple positive with THP chemo regimen
I was diagnosed with stage 1B triple positive. Just had my BMX three weeks ago. Now about to start chemo. My MO recommended THP chemo regime because it has less side effects and she said it has similar efficacy as TCHP.
I know that TCHP has been the gold standard for many years with proven long term record. Just looking for some stories of long term thrivers with THP chemo. Thanks 🙏

I was stage 2a and I'm 16 years out. Didn't do THP, did Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin. Different but triple positive for sure.

thanks cowgirl13. I am having a 2nd opinion today. It seems that there is a push for chemo for less toxicity. But I want a treatment with the better long term outcome. How was your experience with TCHP?

I was stage 2A and triple positive. I had neoadjuvant THP. My MO said there was no reason to do carboplatin since I was node negative. I did end up doing Kadcyla after surgery because I did not get PCR. I am three years out and so far so good.

My chemo was a little different than what you are looking at. Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin which were very do-able but that was before the newer drugs that are available today. I also did 7 years of Arimedex. If I were diagnosed today I would throw the 'gold standard' at it. When I was first looking at chemo I wanted to throw everything at it because if I hadn't, if I were to have a recurrence, I would at least know I threw everything at it, otherwise I'd be moping every date thinking if only….that is not what I would want to be stuck with. But, each person is different.

I had my first infusion of TCHP eleven days ago and I got every single side effect full throttle. I told docs I wasn’t sure I’d be able to continue with chemo. They suggested just THP for the next infusion for less symptoms. So fingers crossed.
And the research on dropping the carboplatin or cytoxan seemed solid.
I am a less is better gal.
I also am looking for experiences of others with just THP.I’m scared to do it again.

@rainyinseattle , I just completed week# 9 of my 12 week THP treatment. I am doing weekly taxol and T+H+P every three weeks. It’s been well tolerated. The only big side effect I have is hair thinning. (I am also doing cold capping).
I had two opinions from mass general and Dana Farber. Both of them did not recommend TCHP. Dana Farber recommended THP and mass general recommended HP. I went with THP. I believed Dana farber started the clinical trial of TH back in 2009(?) for early stage triple positive BC and the data looked really good and showed no inferior outcome compared to TCH.Also, I found daily exercises, such as walking, really helped migrate SE.
