Has anyone used Docs from different healthcare systems?
I just switched oncologists from Penn to Fox Chase. Has anyone used breast surgeons from outside the system that their oncologist is in? I like my Penn Surgeons.

Hi @crossh — it’s completely understandable to want to stay with surgeons you already know and trust. Many people receive care from providers who aren’t all in the same system, and it’s often possible to mix care between institutions if the doctors are comfortable coordinating with one another.
It may help to let your new oncology team at Fox Chase know that you’d prefer to continue with your Penn surgeons. Most centers are used to collaborating across systems, especially for breast cancer care, and they can tell you how they typically handle communication and care coordination.
You deserve a team you feel confident in, and it’s okay if that means your providers come from different places. Please keep us posted on how things go — we’re here for you. 💕
