I went in for my regular mammogram. It was diagnosed with papillary breast cancer. I’m having a double mastectomy April 15. And I just don’t know what to expect. They said I don’t need chemo but they’re not 100% sure until after the surgery. Or radiation. What worries me is hormone blockers as I already live in chronic pain from other injuries I have I cannot take any more pain.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry that you have had to join us, but glad that you found us.
There are so many unknowns especially in the beginning of this journey. Try and take thhings one step at a time. Getting through the surgery is likely the biggest step, so it's good that you have that coming up soon.
Although lots of people have issues with hormone blockers, others have very minimal side effects. I would suggest you discuss it with your MO and see if they have any advice. They should also be able to provide you with statistics about how much benefit the blockers provide. You could also start on them and see if you are lucky enough not to have side effects and if you do you can always stop once you know what are the risks of doing that.

Hey thank you for your input ! I will know more after my surgery and after the pathologist report. I had a very bad accident years ago and broke my finger and my hip so I already live in pain. I can’t take as far as body pain goes. The idea that I will be sleeping all the time, that I will have stiff my body‘s metal already to be tough, but thank you so much for your input. Somehow, I’ve always made it through it. Of course I could always try it, but if it’s not necessary, I skip it.

Thank you very much for asking. I had my double mastectomy. It’s been about eight days. I’ve had a lot of chest pains. I guess it’s the muscles contracting Is what they said. I thought I was having a heart attack. Nobody told me that was gonna happen. I did get the pathology report, but I don’t have it in my hands, but the doctor contacted me. Said I had two kinds of breast cancer, I guess. That they were also non-abrasive and also that the was capsized and that I had no cancer in my lymph nodes. But still, I have not got back the information whether or not I have to have radiation or not. But I can tell you this I can’t take any more chest pain. So I just hope that it’s preventative, which means that I can decide not to do it. Unless it’s treatment. I’ll know more and I’ll let you know but thank you so much for asking about me. This is definitely been tough.

So sorry you are having pain. It's a few days since your last post. If that hasn't improved by now, be sure and reach out to your docs and ask for something to help with the pain.
I hope you get all of your information soon and you are feeling better.
