Hematoma and infection from mri core biopsy
I had a mri core biopsy 3.5 weeks ago, they took 12 core samples from a 2.6 cm linear nonmass enhancement found on mri. The biospy numbing was very painful because of the retroareolar area being the target. I had lots of bleeding and had to wear a compression wrap home, instead of a bra. I developed a large hematoma but was getting better until a few days ago when pain returned and a red inflamed area was found to be an infection. I am now on hold for the intraductral papilloma removal surgery. The surgeon was surprised how big the hematoms still is. I see her again in a week. Has anyone dealt with this?
