Doctors said it is a cancer before biopsy.
Hi all,
I had a lump under my arm upper my right breast it started as a tiny one hardly seen or felt. I left the UK had so many issues that affected my psychological side, this lump started appearing the same month my period stopped I was about 51 years old. the lump starts growing and growing and I war treating it as something that will go by time and by having Holistic treatments.
It hasn't it growed untill it burst making way throught the skin. then started leaking a yellowish fluid and it size started getting smaller and smaller. I had a visit to a general surgeon but he only cleaned the wond and told me to go a see a specialist which I did. It was a Turkish hospital they took an ultrasound from my both breasts and the lump of course and they said there are actually two lumps not one. They said it is a cancer but we need to make sure.
They've sent me for a biopsy and PET scan. Haven't done any yet. I am taking antibiotic for the open lump that is infected now. and the doctor recommended honey treatment to relieve the wond and reduce the odur. As many people suggest that a biopsy make increase the tumer spread speed I am so scared to take it. I would like to start with a treatment right away.
I really do not know what to do. I think a lot and I think that I am going back to the stress and depression cycle again. Should I come back to the UK and start doing all the checked again? What do you think should I do now?

One thing we can share is that a biopsy is generally the standard way to diagnose breast cancer and determine exactly what type of cancer it is, if cancer is present. Hi @nasra1980, I’m sorry for all you are dealing with. Unfortunately breast cancer can’t be treated until it is identified as malignant and the hormone status is known. The only way this can be done is by biopsy. Biopsy needles spreading cancer (tumor seeding) is very rare, less than 1% of the time according to the American Cancer Society. Even then only a few cells are separated from the tumor and hardly ever survive. Having the biopsy and finding out if you are dealing with an infection or cancer would help you decide where you are comfortable getting treatment. As the mods said, discussing this with family or friends would help guide your decision. I hope everything works out as well as possible.
