18 Yrs Later
Back in 2008, I was MamaShift on here.
Oddly, I'm back here under very similar circumstances. In January, I moved back to the States -- after an adulthood abroad -- after my husband ended our 28 yr marriage. Things have not gone well since then.
My health has been a major challenge, but my mental health as well. I spent 10 days in the hospital with mdd, followed by 5 weeks of partial hospitalization. I jusst finished that 10 days ago.
Went in for my yearly mammo thinking, yeah, they'll find something here in the States. And they did.
An architectural distortion, which also showed up on spot compression, which led to discovering a mass on u/s.
Biopsy on Monday 7/20.
The a.d. was not there, or not observed, on my French mammo from 9/25.
Was planning on returning home to France on 8/31. ☹️
At this point I'm more interested in the abdominal mri I'm undergoing on Tues for 2 yrs of post-cholecystectomy pain.

Thank you, Mods. Things have obviously changed quite a bit around here. Reddit is probably the more appropriate place to find support these days. Can't say I'm surprised.

Just an update: I do, indeed, have breast cancer again. Going with mastectomy to get it over wirh and achieve symmetry.

Hi @sydpdx -
Sorry you have once again had to join this "club". Sorry also for the other life challenges it sounds like have been happening to you.
It's really such a kick in the gut when you do get that dx once again isn't it? The 'good' news is that you've been here before and you KNOW that you can get through it!
I hope your other health challenges improve. We are here for you on this journey once again.
Take Care.

Hi, I returned to these boards, too... reading through active topics.
I noticed your comment and wanted to ask about Reddit - do you mean any specific board/thread? Could you point me the way? Obviously, I am very unexperienced with reddit..
Thank you and I hope you won't mind this question a bit out of topic

Hi,
I hope this isn't against the rules, but go to reddit and type r/breastcancer into search bar. Good luck!

Hello Mamashift/sydpdx and thanks for your answer. I, too, was wondering about the rules... I will have a look at it.
I am sorry you have confirmed cancer after such a long time again! Ugh.
For me, it have been 8 years (since dx), 5 years of "cured" life. I am so thankful I had them, but at the same time devastated it hasn't been longer for me. Awaiting biopsy results, but the look it on the ultrasound was pretty clear. It's in my axila and a node under collarbone. (I had triple+++, chemo, Herceptin, Nerlynx, dmx, implants...now on Tamoxifen)
