Honoring Carol B., Virtual Support Group member
We're saddened to share that our beloved community member, Carol B., passed away on Sunday, July 19.
Carol was a longtime member of our virtual support groups and a remarkable woman. A midwife, professor, teacher, adventurer, and devoted mother of two, she brought wisdom, curiosity, and enthusiasm to every conversation. She was feisty, refreshingly honest, and guided by a strong moral compass. Carol had a gift for cutting straight to the heart of an issue, always with authenticity and conviction.
Carol helped shape the spirit of our group. She challenged us to think more deeply, speak more honestly, and stay true to ourselves. Even while living with metastatic breast cancer, she met life with humor, generosity, and an unmistakable zest for living. Many of us will also smile when we think of the WeCroak app she loved and encouraged us to try, a very Carol reminder to embrace life by acknowledging its impermanence.
Throughout her career, Carol helped thousands of women as a midwife, educator, and mentor. She continued that work of caring for others here, openly sharing her wisdom, encouragement, and perspective with our community.
While we'll miss her deeply, we're comforted by the thought of Carol's adventurous spirit still traveling on. Her memory truly will be a blessing to all who knew her. We're sorry for our loss, together, as a community.
With love,
The Breastcancer.org Community Team
