Newly Diagnosed
Hello,
I was diagnosed a little over 3 weeks ago with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 1. Since then, I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster. My surgery is scheduled for August 19th. I’d appreciate any positive vibes!

Hi @essence79
Welcome to the forum. Sorry that you have had to join us, but happy that you have found us.
The waiting is one of the hardest parts of this journey. Try and be good to yourself over the next few weeks. Do things you enjoy and try to take your mind off of all of this. It can be overwhelming. Once you have your surgery, you will feel like at least that 'box' is checked and you can move on to whatever the rest of the plan is. It sounds like statistically you WILL get through all of this and your outlook is good.
We are here for you. Feel free to vent.
Take Care.

Hi @bintalkahf, and welcome! We’re so sorry you’re going through this too.
Please be gentle with yourself right now. You don’t have to understand everything or have all the answers immediately. One step at a time is enough.
You and @essence79 are both very early in this journey, and you’re definitely not alone in feeling shocked and overwhelmed. Keep posting whenever you need to vent. We’re glad you found us.
Sincerely,

Hi @essence79 and @bintalkahf, just checking in on you both. 🤗
We know the first days and weeks after a diagnosis can feel like a whirlwind. There’s often so much information, so many appointments, and a lot of emotions all happening at once. How are you both doing this week? Have you had any new appointments or gotten more information about your treatment plans? We’d love to hear an update whenever you feel up to it.

I pray that @essence79 & @bintalkahf can find some peace, understanding and calmness in their journey. Stay blessed and strong knowing you are not alone. Love you 🥰
I have surgery this Friday August 7. I was diagnosed in June and that gave me too much time to think. Overwhelmed and anxious I found comfort in learning from all the others that are and have been in our shoes. My loving, overly worried family didn’t help in the beginning, had a family session with social worker today which helped. One day/step at a time has helped calm me. We got this!
