Neuropathy worsening three years after chemo and radiation, as well as heat and cold intolerance.

What side effects have gotten worse for you, if they have in fact done so, a few years after harsh chemo and radiation treatments? It seems like several things are occurring for me due to a weakened system. Whether this is neurological, glandular, gut-brain and or immune weakening i can't say. I am not turning up with much in my blood work. I do have very dry eyes- blethritis and severe off and on joint pain with leg muscle spasms and IBS worsening. Any insight or advice would be appreciated. Cheryl

Hi @cherandsunny2, and welcome to Breastcancer.org.

We're so sorry to hear of the side effects that bring you here, but we're really glad you've found us. You're sure to find our community a wealth of knowledge and support - we're all here for you!

Could you tell us if you're currently taking any other breast cancer treatments, like hormonal therapy? Aromatase inhibitors are a known culprit of bone and joint pain. Some members find that taking Tart Cherry Juice or Claritin can help this side effect (Because some breast cancer treatments stimulate the immune system, excess histamines may be present in your body, an antihistamine such as Claritin (chemical name: loratadine) — NOT Claritin-D — may help ease bone pain.)

Also some hormonal therapies can also cause dry eyes as well as leg cramps.
