Lilah - I went to the Mentor web page and watched the video of someone cutting the implant. There is also a puncture of the implant and the puncture of the saline implant all on the same video.

For some reason I thought the gummies were solid not a gel???

NOT to mention anything else - but I LOVE LOVE LOVE   my implants, they are so soft warm and squishy! I settled on a LUNAIRE bra in a 38DD - it fits nicely around the bottom of the 800 cc implants.

Kimberly, I am pretty sure Gummies are a cohesive gel... and I have also seen images of them cut in half.  I felt one at a seminar and it was definitely NOT solid... just firmer than regular silicone (but still squishy).   The one I'll be getting is made by Allergan, though, so maybe it is different (I don't know).  I was just surprised to hear that YOUR yippee squishies are cohesive gel!

    Going to picture site now...

    Lilah

Edit: LOL... I misunderstood what you wrote about your picture and have just spent 10 mins looking for the new pic!  I think your boobs look terrrific in this avatar!  Not too big, not too small.  Enjoy!

Deborah, I copy/pasted all of the abstracts (with title and author) into a word document so not exactly bookmarked but they're easy enough to find again with the title.  Of course, I'm happy to share the document with anyone who wants to pm me.  I had done the same when I was researching breast cancer treatments specifically for young women. Kristen, Ugh so sorry to hear about the back pain.  It's amazing how exhausting constant pain can be even if it's not severe but if it's severe then you need extra sarcasm!  Thanks for the input Judy.   Welcome back Lilah! So for those who have had implants for awhile.  Has anybody ever not had one side drop as much as the other so they're always uneven or is it just a matter of time and they will even out?  Julie

Thanks Julie!  (And lol about needing extra sarcasm).

I'm also thinking that the word document you sent to Deborah is gonna make her day!

    Cheers,

Welcome back Lilah.... such a breath of fresh air you are lady....I hope your triop was WONDERFUL for your 50th! We are going to Vegas this summer to celebrate a friends 50th!

I think I'll stay in my 40's though..... :) I hate the aches of getting older..

    LOL Laura -- thanks :)

My only aches so far are the residual effects (basically, some aches in my legs)...  of the freaking Taxol, but the pain is minor and MUCH better than having cancer.  Oh yeah well there is also the TE in my chest :)  But why quibble?

I have a younger brother who has informed me I have to be 45, so that he can remain 43... who knew men could be as vain as women?  I am happy to comply.  Stay in your 40s forever girl!

I had a blast in Atlantic City!  It's spring in NJ for some crazy reason (after we had a huge blizzard two weeks ago and then a flooding rainstorm last week).  I am slightly poorer but it was SO fun getting there.

Lucky you to go to Vegas twice in one year!

    Lilah~

It has always been about the projection even with my PS.  She always emphasized there WILL be a difference which cannot be met for us uni's.  I notice it more when I lean over mostly so I doubt I will have any problems unless I walk hunched over!!!  LOL!  Actually...looking down at myself & the girls...they do not look bad to me any more...or maybe it does not bother me any more...hmmm.  It doesn't take much to correct it...with a thin insert to fill the tip of the bra cup..& I don't mind doing that anymore either.

I saw my OBGYN on Friday regarding my ovarian cyst.  She originally was going to remove or drain it. However, since I'm BRCA1+, she wants me to see a onco GYN specialist.  It doesn't sound like my onco talked to my OBGYN like he committed to do.  She didn't have my CA125 test results (but got them while I was there).  I waited a few weeks for not much of anything.  We'll see what happens next.

    Happy 45th, Lilah!!!!

Thanks, NAE.  I was pleasantly surprised about the projection- hope it doesn't fade away.

I echo Julie's question - do others have one foob hanging lower than the other?  Is it pretty common?

Kinberly, your boobies look adorable in your photo, just the perfect size!

Lilah, here is my favorite Natori bra, and I notice it is NOT on sale:

    http://www.barenecessities.com/Natori-Body-Doubles-Lace-Trim-Underwire-Bra_product_NatoriWhiteLabel136001_,search,.htm

And I wanted you to know that I returned a bra w/out receipt to Pennys today, and was not banned from the store!  They can search your charges by credit card, and there it was!  Still one more Macys bra to go back.  Lilah, this bra buying and returning can make you batty.

Kristin -- Thanks for the link!  You are a riot with the receipt-free returns... and I can't wait to go batty over the bras (if only because it will mean being one step closer to DONE with this!)

PS -- pretty bra!  I am not sure I will be allowed to wear an underwire ... at least for TE anyway my PS said no underwires

My prophylactic side is about 1-2" to 3/4" lower than my radiated side, mainly because the implant rose a little on the rads side while it "dropped and fluffed" on the prophylactic side.

I get my nipples on Wednesday and I've debated:

    1. Displace the nipples slightly to give the illusion of symmetry or

    2. Put the nipples where they would naturally be on me, and plan to get a lift on the prophylactic side next fall (after swimming season).

If I pinch about 1/2 inch on the proph side, the symmetry is beautiful. So I'm leaning toward planning to do a revision in the fall. My nipples + tattoos will look uneven for a while. I've already talked with my PS about all this. She didn't want to do the lift at the same time as the nipples because she didn't want to do anything to compromise the blood supply to the nipple as it heals.

Lilah: All silicone today is a cohesive gel.  The 410 are referred to as the gummies (by Allergan). The 410s are firmer than the others and a little thicker, but basically the same gel.  Gets comfusing doesn't it?

DEBORAH:  As I get closer to my date, I'm wondering.  IS there anything they can do to prevent the one from dropping and the other not?  Should one have a lower pocket to begin with?  Or should one have alloderm?  With one radiated side, I'm curious.  Right now, the radiated side is one inch higher than the other.  That said, I know they are only TEs, but....

     Morning all,

I go in for a fill in a couple of hours.....next week may be my last one.....I'm still a bit small for my torso (right now I look like an A cup). I'm 5'8, broad shoulders, and 40" around my ribcage. Todays fill plus next weeks fill should bring me to 420cc...hoping for a nice B cup. This was my cup size prior to BC...just a bit more than a "hand full" and I'm completely comfortable with staying at that size.

I'm having a hard time looking at the shape of the TE's and imagining how different the implants will look =o/  The TE's seem to grow and grow outwards....not forwards...Any input will be greatly appreciated....will my boob ever go out instead of sideways :)

To all those having surgeries and tests all the best to you....wishing you much strength and healing....

Morning Laura! I wonder if your PS can explain the projection to you today at your fill. I asked for the high profile style and my PS told me they would be too narrow for my rib cage. My projection is about 2.5 inches, sometimes more, depending on what bra I am wearing. I have found that my implants look so much smaller in clothes than just with my bra on and I do not know why.

Lilah---As far as your brother goes--do you remember that Jack Benny was 39 for decades?  They can be just as worried about aging as we can be.  I am now, however, thrilled for each birthday and look forward to being an old woman one day!  Gambling sounds fun--this should be on the other thread, but I've only gone once.  I hit a sweet pay off at a slot machine split it with my two friends, took them to lunch, and figured that was my one win and I've never gone again!  That was 1981.

Oh, I did do something nice after my scan on Saturday since you suggested it TCK, I had a manicure.

Good luck  to all who are having surgery, scans, or any other medical intervention this week.

    Hugs--Karen

    Hi Ladies

good luck to all having surgery this week! Surgery sister Cindy: our week has arrived !!!!

All you 45 year olds are making me feel OLD at 55!!! My boobs will be brand new though as of 3/26!

my bmx was 1/11...I am finding I have been more active these past 2 weeks since my fills were completed (which kicked my butt and I spent 5 of every 7 days pretty much drugged in a recliner) So I have been noticing back pain by the afternoon every day, anyone else have this at this point post op? Probably a combo of TEs, and activity but I was a big work out girl before this (back muscles were strong and toned)  and my "activity" has only been taking 2 mile walks every day with my woofer and trying to catch up on cleaning my house that hadnt been vacuumed or dusted since January....returned to work only part time but not seeing patients, just desk work till after my exchange. I haven't resumed lifting or anything. Any suggestions? Maybe it will be better after my exchange friday. Its enough that it makes me change my plans/activity by the afternoon.  (please dont say its old age though! ha ha!)

kittycat - sorry you don't know more about your cyst.  Since you are BRCA1+, it's probably a good idea to see a Gyno Onco anyway, just to be more thorough.  Mine knows so much about BRCA+.  She's actually the one who got me into the high risk screening program when I was first trying to figure out what to do.  My GO saw me pretty fast once my OB/GYN referred me.  The GO may want your CA125 test back first, tho.  I hope you don't have to wait too long.  It can be nerve wracking!

musiclovermom - sooo glad you are loving your new girls!  Warm and squishy, gee do I remember what that was like???

Hi ladies - so very, very many posts to read - don't think I'll get through them all. Getting back into my "home" life means less time for the computer... I"m 4 weeks post-exchange - foobs look ok, not great. There's some stuff going on on each side, I think because of the lipo that PS did - I'm wondering if it was even necessary, but oh well.  Working on shoulder range of motion, etc. Still can't find bras to fit, so am going with sports bras and shelf bras in cami's until I have some drop.  But overall, things are ok and life goes on with a sick kid and school projects and baseball practices and dishes and laundry, etc.

I hope you are all well and healing from recent procedures, and send best wishes to those with upcoming dates!!!  Sending prayers for no complications and speedy recoveries.

    All the best, xo, E

Judy, my PS started out assuming that both sides would be even. Hind sight, I wish she'd made my proph side slightly higher and/or the pocket slightly smaller, but we were both hoping that I'd beat the odds and my rads side would not migrate upward.

Grakenmom, if you do find time to go back thru the threads there's great info on bras. A BRA topic would be helpful.   It sounds like you might be waiting for the "drop and fluff" stage...  Hang in there!!

Kathy, 4 days to go!!  Are you doing too much?   Dust bunnies aren't that bad, I've been living with them for weeks!

Patty,  I'm stocking some fresh spainach.  I had that problem with my first surgery and that pain was worse than the surgery pain!  Hope you're over it.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes!!  I'm probably getting the Mentor memory gel.  I was told they are cohesive, but the gummies are "highly" cohesive...

Happy Nips to Texas and Cnemth!!
