Alitman: the plateau phase is in between excitement and orgasm: the really fun part. If MEMORY serves! (been a long time for me too, Sister!)

I just had to look plateau up in Wikipedia, too!  But I was sure intrigued when I first learned about it in middle school!

Deborah, might you post pics of your nips now that they have healed for a while?  It's been good for me to see the brand new nips of Texas and Colleen, which look great.  I'd just appreciate seeing some settled nips, yours or someone else's.

Laura, I did have to use some narcotics after the exchange: a little bit of darvocet and a little bit of percocet for about two weeks.  I can't take a lot of advil, so I needed the narcotics.   Can you take valium? For me, valium also helped to relax the pectoral muscles - mine had been stretched quite a lot with the exchange.

Good morning, ladies!  Wishing our recent surgery girls restful healing!

My college son is home from spring break this week, which has been wonderful.  It's SO gratifying to see your child morph into an adult!  He's been to several interviews, but no jobs/internships really available right now.  Sure would be nice to get him off the family budget, though!  So....if anyone has a connection to an advertising agency who needs a talented and handsome young man, please let me know!

Good heavens - you never know what you'll learn on this thread!  Plateau....I'm pretty darn sure THAT was never discussed in my sex-ed class......I seem to remember hamsters.....in 5th grade.....then in junior high they separated us all for the really important stuff like periods....something I haven't missed not having on tamox!  Let me just say there is very little plateau action in this household.....

    I can't believe it's been over 4 weeks since I had a ps visit.  That's the longest I've gone since January 2009!  I"m in withdrawal.....lol.....

Laura:  The mouthpiece stopped working.  Peg sent me a link to a clinic in SD which performs two different procedures - depends on the reason for the snoring.  I know my husband is not motivated to go under surgery, since the snoring does not bother him at all.  He went through a sleep study and he does not, apparently, so he says, have sleep apnea.  My husband's cousin has sleep apnea and came to visit us last summer and brought her machine.  I was surprised to see the size of it.  Good thing he does not need it, because it just would not go with my decor.

I need the phase which comes just before EXCITEMENT.  What is the name of that phase?

Texas, thanks for your encouragement.  Regarding your radiated foob, wow, I had no idea it was capable of doing that!  I learn something new everyday.

Deborah:  The phase before excitement is called a situation that causes you to get aroused.  I can't think of a one word term.  Let's see... foreplay? (I can't believe I said that word!  I'm a kindergarten teacher!!!)

What?  You mean foreplay is supposed to cause "excitement"?    I thought foreplay meant it was time for me to start daydreaming about what color to paint the dining room...Frown

Kristinka - I posted my pictures a few weeks ago which were about 3 mo post nips/areola graft.

They are under "My Reconstruction Journey", probably somewhere about page 3-5 on the picture forum. they haven't changed much since then.

Hello everyone!!  I am preparing for my 2nd try at reconstruction after 6 months of healing after a failed TE in Aug/Sept.  Everything is looking good so far and have an appt with a ps that is a cancer survivor herself.  My question to everyone is how long for those who had delayed reconstruction did it take before the exchange and any suggestions as far as bra's, and pain meds, muscle relaxers and/or anything in the natural way that would help.  I like kristinka's suggestion on a calendar.  I am definitely doing that.

    I appreciate all responses.

    Thanks. Cindy

I think I'm getting sex ed here!!

Today's a good news/bad news kinda day...The good news is that my PS's clinic is now reinstated in the Allergan 410 clinical trial and that I will get on the exchange calendar soon!  Because of all the women on the waiting list ahead of me I didn't make the April group, but hopefully the May group...cross your fingers for me!!  Can't wait to get rid of my barnacle.

The bad news though is that I've got poison oak. Surprised I've got spots up and down one leg and one on my neck.  My MX side is fully healed so I don't have open wounds but I really don't want to get this on the MX skin flap - just seems like it wouldn't be good for it.  I suppose the good thing would be that it wouldn't itch there!

    Have a good weekend, everyone!

Oh, CS, that's just not right! That is good news about the 410 trial. Unfortunately my PS isn't in the trial and I have saline which doesn't work so well for me. The good news is that they aren't going to last forever and hopefully in the distant furture when I re-exchange there will be better solutions for me.

Like Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side said to her husband in bed one night.  "You knew I was a multi-tasker before you married me."

Julie ~ I will post the additional nip picks from the top looking down this weekend.  They are looking good and I am totally used to these protectors.

    Happy Easter Everyone!!!

CS, be careful of your node arm!  You might need antibiotics to prevent LE if it gets bad there!

Speaking of itch....too funny between plateau charts and diningroom colors, LMAO!

Trying to get serious, Cindy, somewhere I have a list on a scrap of paper of bras that have been recommended on this site. When I find it I will list them!

Katey:  We just got back from Great Wolf Lodge about an hour ago. Boy, you're right about having a lot of reading to do to catch up! By the way, Great Wolf Lodge is a hotel/indoor water park located outside of Charlotte. My daughter loved it!! She's 10 and on spring break this week. We highly recommend it!

Nedeza:    My daughter had a similar reaction when she heard me talking about getting my next surgery(nipples) scheduled. She was very tearful and said she didn't want me to have another surgery and that she wished things were like before. It breaks my heart to know of the suffering this has caused her. I partly chose the in office nipples with tattoos later because that way it's not really surgery. It seems like whenever things get back to "normal" it's time for another surgery. Hopefully my exchange was my last one. I know that it is difficult to face another surgery, but you deserve to be pleased with your reconstruction after everything that you have been through! I'm sure you will look beautiful and it's only a few days away!

Just got back from the PS and no more staples, yay! Now instead of watering them I'm supposed to keep antibiotic ointment on them... oh well. and not crush them. He didn't give me any kind of 'protectors' just taped gauze over the top like a curtain (open at bottom) and told me not to wear a bra unless I cut the front out of it. Haven't heard of this on this thread but maybe it's because I had skin grafts for the areolas and he doesn't want anything to touch them for a couple of weeks.

The next step for me is in a couple of weeks I'm supposed to give them some sun. Sounds like fun! There are contractors building a 3-story home on the lot behind my house so I'm sure that will cure them of peeping!

    Hi ladies

My exchange is August 10th or 16th.  I thought I would introduce myself.  I had a right side mast in August last year (4.5cm) and have completed my chemo.  They stopped the chemo 5 taxols short because of side affects.  My fingers and toes are slowly (very slowly) getting back to normal.  My scalp is almost covered with hair..yeah! even though its very short and grey and brown.  Will be a while before I can go coverless.

Not working unfortunately, I resigned last July to give myself time to get through the surgery and treatment, but will need to work after surgery as money is running out...lol.

I live in Sydney, Australia and am a single mum with a beautiful 12 yo daughter who was a god-send after my mast.

My PS has measured me up for my new impants (gel implants).  Can't wait to get this "brick" out of my chest.

I will be reading the posts to see how everyone is going, but will not have much to post about myself.

Happy Easter to everybody and best wish to people having surgery soon.

    Jayne
