Paula, yes, from everything I can tell they're real and for sale!  If they work as well as the website shows, they could give PS's a run for their money for lifts, eh?  A related funny thing I found is for tapes for a do it yourself brow and neck lift:  https://www.bringitup.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=21  Laughing

Ok so I lied!  I'm so sorry to have gotten you all going, wish it were April 1 so I could say April Fools.  I could have sworn that my nutrition friend told me chick peas were high but I just asked and she thought I was nuts so I have no idea what I was thinking.  Sorry!  But thanks for clearing me up on that, now I can eat more hummus!I gave up on using an actual index, it's too much work.  I've tried a low glycemic diet using an index and I've tried atkins in the past, neither did anything at all for me.  This time my doc gave me the very simple rules of 2/3 vegetable or fruit and 1/3 protein and I've had success in so many ways.  I think it's because the focus became fiber through vegetables and fruit rather than focusing on protein.  Lilah, My high yeast was just a lot of yeast infections.  Every surgery brought antibiotics which lead to yeast infections galore.  I had never had one before this.  When I asked my gyn about it, she explained to me that because tamoxifen blocks estrogen, it decreases the thickness of the vaginal lining which makes me more susceptible to yeast infections and other issues so I started the low glycemic for the yeast and for fatigue.  I also started a daily dose of vitamin E, A and collagen to build the vaginal wall back up.  So far it seems to be working.  I started to get an infection yesterday but I drank tons of water and had cranberry pills every two hours and I'm all better today--maybe it's in my head, but hey whatever works.Julie

Julie - all those yeast infections!  Yuck, you poor thing!  Now I'm thinking that if I have a ooph/hysterectomy that I might run into the same trouble!  Yikes!!

So, now my right foob is spazzing out (it's the lumpy one) and I have pain where the lumps are.  It's probably from the PS and I poking around, but it's kind of freaking me out!

I just posted my story and 6 dmx progression photos on tim tam site.  DMX was in November 09.  I am 9 days out from my exchange and having problems with redness on the cancer breast which was radiated 9 years ago from bc after a lumpectomy.   Ps said it could be an infection or the previous radiated skin not happy.  I am a bit worried.  I did not have drains for the exchange.  This could be fluid build up-hemotoma?.  I think my ps is doing a wonderful job, but she dosnt share any extra ifno with me and always keeps things positive and speaks confidently (which I guess is better than the alternative).  Right now she has me on an additonal week of a new antiobiotic.  It looks alot worse in person that in the photo.  Thanks for listening.

    Julie~

Truly understand about those darn yeast infections!!!  Along with the Tamoxifin and having to take Keflex (Cephalexin) after each surgery, yeast infections are a common occurance w/me...UGH!  Now my doctor gives me Diflucon (tablet) to get rid of the yeast infection without having to do the Monostats & such which I dislike.  Now I just pop one pill & relief in 24 hours & bye, bye yeast infection!

If you go to the home page of the picture forum, scroll down to the place where it says girls only.

or women only, there are a few choices, well burnt, under construction & natural.

if you click on one of those links it will take you to the stories with the pictures and you can post also.

I happen to be in the under construction section with my same screen name. You can pick a different screen name if you want to...

Hope this helps you find the stories - they are all amazing and inspiring and have helped me more than anyone will ever know!

    Kitty -- cute pic!

Julie -- thanks for the explanation and so sorry about the infections.  I will see how I can do with this 2/3 veggies/fruit and 1/3 protein... sounds difficult!  But it also sounds satisfying.  How did you come upon red quinoa?

Astorm - I was in your shoes not too long ago. One side was smaller than the other. I decided also that I could not live like that because I was very self-conscious. While everyone said they couldn't tell, I sure could. At my original exchange surgery I had Style 20-650cc implants on both sides. From day one I knew that something didn't look right but had to wait until the drop and fluff stuff. While they did drop and fluff one side always looked different in shape and smaller. At my 3 month check-up PS said this was a small issue and to him not a big enough issue to do anything about. Well it was a BIG issue to me so he went ahead to try and fix. I just had my revision exchange on Friday, April 16th and am so happy I went through with it. He replaced my left implant with a Style 20-700 cc and moved the pocket on the side to hold the implant. He left the right implant alone. So now I have two different sizes and they finally look like they match in clothes. It was all worth it. So my advice to you is if you really want to do it - GO FOR IT!

Okay ladies, I have another weird thing going on....  I mentioned earlier about the buising feeling in my stomach and sides but no actual bruising.  well today in the shower I found some major bruising... I found it while shaving my bikini area.... it's like in the pubic area, mostly covered by hair (sorry so graphic, no other way to describe it) and it extends out a little on both sides where I shave, it is in like  a T shape and it is a nasty purplish color.  I have no idea how that could've gotten there.  I didn't have any fat grafting or any other grafts that I'm aware of...  I called PS office and left a message for the nurse, but then they called back and want me to come in at 1:00 today, so I'm off to the PS.  But very confused about this.  I really don't have any feelings that it was sexual or abuse, I just want to know why my pubic area is bruised after having breast surgery.  Please tell me that someone has an explanation for this or has had this!  I think I'm going to take a picture of it before I go down, just to be on the safe side.  It is so weird!  And I seriously never would've thought that I'd be taking so many pictures of my private areas, ever in my life!  Crazy what BC does to you!

    Good thougths to all today!

Gosh, Paula....it's almost sounds like somebody beat you up in the OR!  Just kidding.....but still.....wonder if it has something to do with holding you up in a seated position to check your implant postioning?.....can't wait to hear your ps's explantation....

Haven't checked in for a few days - lots of graduation stuff to tend to.  However, I absolutely have to have my dh take some new pics this weekend.  This morning during my daily (though trying to be less)  "foob scrutinization session" I happened to look at them in my makeup mirror which was on the counter.  I guess I caught the left side at a whole new angle because I'd never noticed before that I have an inner edge that's not released....go figure.....My left side is still a smidge higher than the right, too....  My ps appt was supposed to be this week, but got moved to next, which is good.  I'm wondering now if I should wait longer for nips.....guess we'll see....

Deborah...I just learned how long and hard your journey has been....you are such an advocate for women on these lists now.....thank you for reaching out in so many ways.

Every story I have read so far is amazing...thank you all.......

Paula....so sorry about this latest strange bruising......can't even imagine :(

Got to get on with my day.....stepping away from the computer :)

Paula -- you certainly have a right to know what happened while you were in the OR. My friend had surgery a couple of weeks ago and they accidentally burned her and didn't tell her until she asked about the (rather large) burn mark. I told my PS that when I go under I am passing the baton (of my consciousness) to him. Hope you heal quickly and get an explanation.

Donna -- thanks for your post. I'm really nervous about confronting the PS because he has been very kind and took over my case when I was basically adandoned by the 1st PS who put in the TEs. I had a really bad day yesterday, mostly attributed to my unhappiness with the asymmetry but also everything piling up at home, etc. and thinking this will never be over. Thank you for sharing your experience -- it is very encouraging!

I posted this as a separate topic also but need help ...

I'm just a few days away from my exchange and over the past week or so I've started having really sharp pain right in the crease under my foob(s). It comes and goes and is more on the right than the left. I've been assuming this is just normal and is due to the trauma and stretching but now am starting to worry ...

    Has anyone else had this??

I don't know what scares me more - the upcoming exchange or the thought that this could delay it.  I know, I know, I'm a little psycho LOL!

mIrbelle I am in the same boat I am having my exchange on the 28th and I have been feeling like I am getting an cold but I am not. I have those pains on my right side  kinda like a muscle spasm. I don't have it on my left side though. I think mine are all related to nerves. I hope you will be OK and it doesn't delay your surgery.

    When is your exchange?

Well, I'm back, 2 hours of driving and half a tank of gas for them to tell me that this is normal.  Apparently, when you have surgery on the breast area all of the fluids tend to drain down and he said that it can cause some pain or discomfort in the stomach and sides and pool into the groin area, and swelling of the abdomen is normal.  My DH came in and looked at it before I left and he said that he thought it looked like blood pooling.  When I got to the office the nurse that took me into the room said that they symptoms sound very normal after my procedure.  And then he came in and looked and said, Yep, that's normal.  Well, why didn't they just tell me that over the phone!  Geez...  anyway, I feel better,  it makes sense, he said that they don't always see it after an exchange, but almost always after like a lypo on the tummy area, so they don't think to warn breast patients.  Lucky me!  Now we all know, for future reference!  Anyway, while I was there, I had him check my right breast because it has been giving me greif and feels firmer, and he said that the area that I am comlaining about (along the bottom and up both sides) is where all of the pocket work sutures are.  He said that my right side had migrated a lot between my last fill and the exchange and he had a lot of pocket work to do and that is also why he couldn't go any bigger on the implant.  I am choosing to believe him right now, it makes sense, and I just want to heal and enjoy my summer.  He talked more in detail about what we can do in six months after they settle in, talking about making them bigger and fuller on the top  and talked about fat grafting for the divot.  I think that I had such an attitude when we went in there on Monday that I didn't want to hear anything he had to say unless he said he screwed up and would fix it right away.  Now that I have calmed down we had a very nice conversation and I feel quite a bit better about the whole thing.  I can feel right where all of the sutures are and I know that he did move it over a lot from where it was with the TE, and he had talked at every fill how the right side wasn't expanding as well as the left, so I guess it all makes sense, just wish that he would've given me a heads up before surgery... anyway, all's good.

Mlrbelle:  I had weird pains and stuff before exchange, I'm sure that your PS will tell you it's just your skin and muscles and nerves and perfectly normal, but give them a call and tell them, it'll make you feel so much better to hear from them that it's normal.  You'll feel much better after your exchange!

thank you ladies, have a great day!  Off to pick up DS from school!

    Mirbelle and Rebetata,

Sorry you are having pains.  My TEs drove me crazy with pains all the way up to my exchange surgery.  Does advil/tylenol help?  Do you have any muscle relaxers like Flexeril or Valium?  If the pain is bad, you should call your PS for advice.  You shouldn't have to deal with sharp pains while you are in the countdown for surgery!  It is probably just muscle spasms, but those can really hurt.  Hope you start to feel better.

I'm in the Bay Area, are you?

Lilah, I was just buying quinoa one day and happened to see the red.  I looked at the nutrition and liked the nutrition facts even more than regular quinoa.  It seems like it has more fiber and protein.  It's still a grain so you can't live on it but it's great for breakfast or as a small side with dinner.Val, That's the wrong angle to look at it from!  Don't do that to yourself girl!Paula, Very interesting.  Glad that's all cleared up.  You're PS sounds like mine, he just doesn't see the need to give all the information, but he's an excellent surgeon so I've waded through it and am so grateful to him for his fabulous work.Mirbelle, I had sharp pains throughout expansion.  I think it's the nerves trying to wake up and they're not always kind. Julie
