Thanks for all your reassurance!
Kristinka and Rebetata - I'm in San Diego and am having my exchange at a surgery center in Rancho Bernardo (1st time there) with Dr. Gupta. I love it in both the Bay are and Palm Springs - our 2 favorite long weekend vacay spots - pre-kids anyway ...

We go frequently up to Julian near San Diego we like to take the kids camping (RV camping not roughing it) just have to clarify I can not tent camp. I am really affraid of bugs.lol
That makes like 5 people on here from your area I wish I had someone local I could meet.

Paula - Thank goodness!! That is certainly a perfect explanation, but I'm wondering why nobody else has had a similar experience......maybe we just aren't as observant as you are! I'm just glad that everything's okay and that you have "made peace" with your ps. You've at least started the conversation necessary to discuss addressing the issues you're not happy with. You go, girl!
Julie - I know.....I know.....it just sorta happened......I'll see if it shows up in a pic.... btw....I just bought some red quinoi the other day, but haven't cooked it yet. We love the white - though I did learn the hard way that you have to rinse it first! - so am looking forward to the red. I know a woman on a similar diet for yeast - she called it the "candida (aka yeast) diet". She's really hard core with it as she's trying to get pregnant....not a speck of sweetness for her....aka no wine.....yuck!

I'm not really a roughing it girl, either. Although we are planning a tent (YIKES!) trip in Borrego when the kids get a little bigger.
Love going to Julian - the apple pie is worth the drive through the mountains (I'm sort of afraid of heights ...), and the kids love seeing the horse-drawn carriages.

Thats so funny when we drive up there I am constantly telling my DH be careful it really drivves him crazy.lol
Well if you need to talk this weekend if you get nervous I will be checking in. My kids are graduating from the Young Marines tomorrow so I will try to keep busy so I am not to crazy myself.

Ok, so I had a BAD BAD DAY!!! I saw the onco this morning. He confirmed he could feel a mass. They sent me immediately over to the radiologist, got an ultrasound and then they told me, "you need to go back to your onco's office right now." I got back and the onco's PA (who did the exam this morning) told me they found a solid mass and it needs to be biopsied ASAP. So, now I go to my breast surgeon on Monday and they'll probably do the biopsy on Tuesday. I had to call my PS and OBGYN to update them. The nurses there were super nice. I didn't make it out of the onco's office without breaking down. the PA gave me a big hug and the nurses got my tissues and walked me out.
HOW CAN THIS BE HAPPENING??? I had DCIS - no invasive components - all clear margins!!! The PA told me it could be scar tissue, but it scares me that it's close to the BMX scar (internal) and that's where reoccurrences can happen. And it's grown quickly or I just never noticed it because the tissue or whatever is tougher on that side than on my healthy side. My PS didn't notice it either. His nurse said they had a scare this past week with another patient and it turned out to be nothing.
My mom moves here on Monday. She doesn't know anything about this because I didn't want to scare her. She's going to freak when I tell her. My sister cried on the phone. My husband is also freaking out!!! I need to go for a drive or do something this weekend!!!

kittycat: I'm so sorry that you are going through all this. I'm glad that your docs are acting quickly. Maybe schedule a mani/pedi or a massage or something this weekend. I'll be praying for you. Love your new pic!

Kitty,
Let your mom mother you. As a mom I can tell you that although we don't want anything bad to happen to our daughters, we DO want to be there for them. And as a daughter, the hardest part of my bc experience is that I don't have a mom. I understand that you don't want to worry her but moms usually are capable of focusing on taking care of their loved ones and show remarkable strength.

- ((((((((Kittycat))))))))))))))-thank goodness you were perceptive enough to get it checked out. We will keep you in our prayers that on Tuesday you'll get a good report. A friend of mine who was diagnosed just a few months before me had a similar scare recently. It turned out to be just scar tissue........please don't worry too much......I know that's nearly impossible.......and DO tell your mom. I didn't tell mine about my bad mammo or biopsy - or even my dx at first - I waited until I was going home for Christmas to do it. Even though that all happened just the week before Christmas, in hindsight I wished I'd had her support through that week

kittycat: Oh how I almost detest Fridays when it comes to having breast cancer! It seems as though crazy things occur on Fridays and then there is this entire weekend to endure! I will have you in my prayers. It sounds too bizarre, quite frankly, to be what you fear it might be. We all are here for you....all weekend....

((((((((Kittycat)))))))))) Definitely do something nice for yourself this weekend that can take your mind off the situation. Wine is good too. Hopefully it will just be scar tissue or a cyst. Seriously, you're going to be ok.

Kitty
I agree... let Mom take care of you and try to stay busy. I know, easier said than done. We are praying for you and wish we could all be with you to hold your hand.
Val: I swear we look at ourselves too much sometimes..right? DId we ever look that close before BMX? But I bet and hope that a talk with the PS will make you feel better...maybe put it in persepective because it sounds like a very small difference. Please let me know how your appt goes.
Wore a boob shirt to dinner tonight and i let the girls out (cleavage that is) . shazaam

Thanks everyone! I'm on my first glass of wine. Well, I'm not sure if it's my first because I sort of refilled it before I went outside.

I was telling my sister that "things happen for a reason" It sounds so cliche, but it's funny how my mom is coming up here the day I go see the breast surgeon. I'm going to have her take me to the biopsy appt. It's good that she's not alone in dealing with this. Being so far away from my sister and I was really hard for her (when we were both going through BC). My husband is also amazing. He bought a beautiful bouquet of roses for me and the sweetest card.

LOL! My profile pic has me holding a glass of wine - exactly like the one I'm drinking!

Val, I don't know anything about the Candida diet but I've heard of it. Wine is on my diet, I figure the alcohol kills yeast, improves my mood and helps me sleep, besides Jesus drank it so it must be a requirement of some sort.
Kittycat, My stomach is in nots for you! You know it just doesn't add up, for it to grow that fast, you had DCIS, and you lopped the darn thing off. They're doing the right thing and moving quickly but I really think it's going to be nothing. That's just my gut. Glad you have that wine, hope you have some other great plans this weekend, if not make them. And you know, I've found my self saying a million and one cliche's since this all began but somehow they hold more meaning now so cliche away.

Hey Laura! Thanks for checking in on me. I hope it's nothing! I think all of my doctors are shocked. I'm shocked!!! Here's to the weekend!!

Laura2- hope it goes smoothly and stress free for you on Monday
Paula- after my exchange I did felt like my hips and abdomen was bruised strangely but there was no blue. It went away after a week.
Kittycat- it does no good to stress, it will be what is is and you will deal with it positively when you find out. best wishes

Paula -- so relieved there was an explanation; sounds like you are the exception but glad it's nothing to worry about. Also glad you had a nice chat with your PS. I'm sure that WAS worth the drive!
Kitty -- I refuse to believe it's anything other than scar tissue and I am SO sorry you have to spend the weekend wondering and fearing. Prayers for you... for your peace of mind this weekend and for a happy ending on Monday (scar tissue -- NOTHING MORE).
Julie -- thanks I will check that red quinoa out! I've been inspired today... you'd be so proud of me
I chose fruit for a snack instead of carbs (well fruit does have carbs but it's the good kind).0 -
juliempw....re all the antibiotics....With all the tooth issues and surgeries, I have been on a lot of antibiotics over the last 3 or 4 years. What I have done the last few times is this...don't know if it is a great idea or not....maybe someone else can chime in.....My last few antibiotics have been one dose a day or two....sooo...4 hours before a dose I take 2 probiotic pills...50 billion CFU. I know the antibiotic will just kill them off again, but I was hoping it would keep the good bacteria in the gut alive long enough to do some good. I never had any of the bad symptoms that can come from antibiotics but don't know if this approach is why. After my final exchange, I was on two different antibiotics for 3 weeks and used the probiotics in this manner.

Kittycat....scar tissue, scar tissue, scar tissue
I guess once we have joined this stupid BC club, we will always be worrying. Prayers for good news. So many wonderful women here who are willing to pray for each other even as they have their own BC worries, surgeries, etc. Thank you to all who pray and send out healing vibes for all of us.0 -
paula I want to know what that is because I just had surgery for revisions yesterday and I have the same area pain- lots of pain. I am wondering if it is from a catheter?
0 -
Kitty cat- my prayers are with you!!!! ((((((((((kc)))))))))))))))))
Paula- I just read your other post. How odd. No one told me of that too but it makes sense. I wonder how long that pain lasts??? I have to wait till Monday to see my docs PA and he's going to be out of town.

Hi ladies,
Im not were else to post this but I have a question. I live in Wichita KS and I am looking for someone to do my tats. I originally was going to use someone in KC but she can't seem to be able to schedule an appt without cancelling it and now there's issues with her billing the insurance companies too so Im thinking of using my PS but I was wondering if anyone was aware of someone close to me. I dont want to have to fly somewhere.
Thanks
Teresa

Kittycat sending piles of prayers. Sorry you have to wait through the weekend...waiting is so hard. I'm crossing all fingers and toes for a scar tissue result

Paula glad you feel a bit better about your PS...sounds like you are both hearing each other

Thanks for the good wishes for my exchange on Monday....can't wait

Healing and comfort,
Laura

Kittycat: thinking of you and sending hugs. Enjoy the wine and roses and how wonderful to have a Dh AND Mom that are there to love and support you! Let them

kittycat: I pray it is only scar tissue and nothing more. I understand the "keep it from mom" thing too, but mine lives with me! Until my actual dx, I didn't tell anyone other than my DH. Of course I was in denial and convinced it was "nothing" and didn't want to worry everyone needlessly. Having here here though helped during surgery since she could cook, clean, do laundry and DH could focus on keeping my meds straight and taking care of me.
Fairthport, how are you doing?
