    Hi again.

I had my oncology appointment.  My oncologist is wonderful, and he spent about 45 minutes with me. I was complaining about the terrible bone pain I was having with tamoxifen and he said "you seem depressed."  (I'm usually very cheerful and not a complainer.)

I said i wasn't depressed, just disappointed.  I explained what happened.  This was risky because he knows my old PS but he was very encouraging.  He was very vague about it but he seemed to imply (or I inferred) that I was better off,  and he flat out said the person I was referred to is great and I'd do well with her. So, aside from the fact that I will now have to wait months to get this thing out of me, I at least know I'm getting a good PS.

Whippetmom, I'd tell you who my old PS was to put him on your negative list but I'm not sure it's even necessary.  He isn't doing reconstructions anymore so nobody here will get him.  If people go to you for plain breast enhancements, then I can share who he is.  I have no idea what kind of surgical results he gets but he certainly isn't caring and with thousands of plastic surgeons to choose from - why pick him?

I'm very glad I got such a caring oncologist though.  I hear that isn't the norm, but mine is wonderful.

Colleen:  I have Dr. Pollack on my PS referral list...I wish he would change his website though and indicate that he also does breast reconstruction.  Perhaps he could use your photos???  Suggest it to him when you see him.

Deborah ~ Funny you should mention that.  He is planning to do exactly that with my photos.  I think he was waiting to get the final results to post to update the website and post all of them.

We (another patient Sandy and I) are also working together him and our Onc to do a calendar to distribute to all of the Sharp patients in the San Diego area.

I wondered why my PS did not do more online advertising ( this is what I call it..lol).. or even others in the group they own.

He smiled and said he had people just like me sending them mucho referrals.. and most all the hospitals here refer to him and his group...Another lady on BCO was told to go to him.. but he was too full to get into at the time.. so she chose another... and this also worked out great for her.

So maybe ladies... we are missing some of the best surgeons for Deborah's list...

Some of the ones here in KC that are " on a list" somewhere and are all over the TV here.... RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

They're cost is their ego.... their vanity shows... and their way is the best there is. BLECK!

Anyway... I fully believe... some of the BEST PS in the WORLD... might never be known outside their own area..... so... ladies.... if you feel you PS is amazing.. pass it on to Deborah.

Laura - I agree.  I was VERY HAPPY with my PS.  He is one of my most favorite doctors I've ever had.  I was really happy with my size.  I totally trusted him to put in whatever size he thought was best - 550's.  He put 600 sizers in, but he said they were clear up to my collarbone.  I'm so glad he chose the size I have, esp since I have scar tissue on the right from all this surgery, so my right side is still a little high.  It still looks good, esp in a bra.

Anyway, if anyone needs a good PS in Vegas - let me know.  I've interviewed 10 of them (between my aug and reconstruction).

By the way, my 1st round of chemo went okay today.  I'm chillin at home.  No major SE's yet - Keep your fingers crossed!!!!

All this talk of how everyone loves their PS so much! I am so happy for all you ladies that have found that connection. I sure wish I could. Kitty I would love to hear how you narrowed it down with the 10 doctors you interviewed. I am back searching after thinking I had landed in the right hands.. but alas it wasn't meant to be.

    Hi Laura!

That would be great to see you.  I live about 15 minutes from the Strip in Henderson (south east side of the valley).  Yes, I am on the red devil.  My pee was red when I got home, but now it's normal color!  Yeah! I'm drinking TONS of water!!!

You are so sweet.  Thanks for thinking of me!!!

Packergirl - I intereviewed 8 PS's for my aug.  I just kept looking, mainly because I have a chestwall deformity - pectus excavatum (my rib cage is caved in slightly).  I chose PS #7.  When I found out I had BC, I met with 2 BC's that specialize in reconstruction.  The first one was a recommendation from a friend.  The 2nd one was a recommendation from my original BS.  Well #2 took 3 weeks off, so I had to wait.  When I met with my friend's PS, I knew right away that I was going to have a bmx and he was going to do my surgery.  I still went to see the other PS to get an opinion.  I waited over 2 hours to see him and he had a HUGE EGO - yuck!  I called the 1st PS in the parking lot after #2's appt and scheduled surgery!

    anniealso

Its always funny when someone new takes my BP, the do it, then they take my pulse, shake their head and start taking the BP again and then they ask: " are you light headed, dizzy etc." So I always start out once the cuff comes out by telling them what my norm is. I was once in a car accident and the EMT took it and then started shouting to the other that I was shocky. Must be a side effect form having been a runner for so many years.

I go in today at 9:30 est, so hopefully it will be fine. They told me to wear spanx yesterday 24/7 and this morning the swelling does look reduced, : )

I swear I am starting to feel like a fancy car that is in the shop all the time.

Wendy, good luck, and I love the comment.

My husband jokes that I am now his "FIAT", (he used to have one) as  in "looks flashy, but its always in the shop".  That's my nickname from him now.  I laugh every time.   (except not so flashy these days! :0)

Sounds like all will be well.  What great BP, you lucky girl!

Laura:  Hang in there with your LE treatments.  Sorry you are having to go through this.

Texas:  I find I am always double checking the nurses and the dr's to make sure no mistakes are made and I am so sorry this happened to you.  One of my nurses almost forgot to give me the antinausea medication before giving me chemo and I would have be projectile vomiting if I hadn't questioned her and caught it.  I am a royal pain in the ass sometimes but in this case it paid off.  Go see your dr as I had a friend who also had a similar situation and should have gone in immediately.

anniealso:  Red sequin hearts and sparkles OMG I want some!!

Wendy:  Good luck at the dr's and I hope that it is just a bit of fluid retention.  Love the reference to being a fancy car in the shop all of the time.  I work in interior design and I am on construction sites quite a bit, and I always refer to myself as my remodel in progress.

Kittycat:  I felt the same way when I found my PS--I just "knew" I had found the right one.  Both my PS and my OS are in such high demand that they are always working.  When I was in the hospital my OS visted in the middle of the night.  I think he actually sleeps there during the week!  My PS is a microsurgeon and he is in high demand for other types of reconstruction: he also reattaches fingers!

Packergirl:  I hope you do find "the one".  After all we go through I think it is worth the wait to find a dr we believe in and can trust and who also does marvelous work.  I found mine 2 weeks before my surgery was originally scheduled and in the middle of  chemo with my brain hardly working.  You can do it!

Okay, I'm going to look at the picture site and maybe today I will finally have the time to post my pictures.

Seems to be good news. Dr. Isreali thinks it does not look like an infection but because of my MRSA history I am on minocycline and he sent the fluid in for a culture. He drained over 100 cc of fluid and re-inserted a new drain. So my mantra is "At least I'm not in the hospital now drain drain go away."

Thank you for all your support.

    Hurry Big Apple!!!!

Good for you for checking it out!  A drain is a pain, but you know the drill and how to work with it.  It's doing a job for you.

Red sequin heart pasties came from Fredericks of Hollywood :).

Glow in the dark nips stick ons came from an online provider of nips, I can look up the name if you want them.  They are those ones that are also incredily realistic.  It's just that I'm sort of odd and like these goofy things.

    Feel better, bigapple.

I was thinking that you could fake your husband out with the stick on glow in the dark ones. You can stick a pair to the wall or heck the cat, and see how long it takes him to figure out that he is chasing the wrong pair of pasties : )

Dear friends, i had my echange exactly one week ago (june 10). and was wondering when can Ii go back to sleep on my back and not seating up?

I slept sitting up more than 3 weeks after the BMX, but now just one week it's hard to keep doing it.

    Embarassed

I never slept sitting up - even after the MX.  I have my head elevated with two fluffy pillows and I have a pillow on which I can rest my left arm [SNB arm], but I have been in my own bed.  I see no reason you need to continue sitting up to sleep.  That would be sheer torture for me.  Did your PS suggest this?

MBJ~ I had my 6th fill today and im at 450ml!! And i have another in 3 weeks!!

    woooooo hoooooo!!!!!!!!!

She said this one was to be my last but then said today she'll do 1 more! I am so happy! ha ha!

Still not sure what implant she'll use yet (see my post on sizing 101) BUT SHE THINKS IT WILL BE OUT THE 300 GRAM RANGE~EVEN IF ITS THE LOWEST OUT THE 300'S I'LL BE HAPPY .oops didnt mean to type capitals but too lazy too delete and re-do! ;-)

I asked her today,if she brought the pockets a bit closer together(which is what i want anyway)if that meant i could get a wider implant and she said no,it doesn't work like that! lol was worth a try! We are going for projection now with these extra fills. She said i have a narrow torso. And there was me thinking i looked like a line backer!

i have updated my pics on the pic forum. Not blue toothed my video from phone to pc yet though so youtube will have to wait til tomorrow
