MBJ -- what is a mayomectomy? (Sorry but it sounds like removal of mayonnaise
0 -
Lilah! LOL!! It was pretty much that! I have been plagued with uterine fibroids for most of my life--skinny girl with a belly! They went in and scraped my uterous but it was supposed to be to cut out the fibroid but it was a mess in there, so they scraped me and sewed me back up because I refused a hysterectomy.0

I have a feeling I'm not going to grow it that long again (would rather trim it regularly and keep it healthy). All in all I think I look better post BC (perkier boobs and better hair

Sorry! It's going to be a long post again!

Estepp- I don't know if they're wonder boobs, but I like them. And I like your new photo!
Jerusha- I think my fever is being caused by inflammation like you said. My PS says a lot of times if you have a foreign object put in your body it will try to get rid of it with a fever. She also said after surgery we tend to take shallow breaths when breathing and that also can cause fever. So deep breaths everybody!
AStorm- I didn't know about that job, either. I'm going to have to research to find out who it is at my hospital.
mslrg- I definitely want to report it to the AMA. I'm just waiting for my medical records to arrive. Now that my head is clear from all the meds I am in the mood to kick some serious butt!
whitedove- The medication I o.d.'d on was called Dilaudid.
hurleygirly- It's funny you said that because I have been accused of being a clairvoyant in the past. I think we all are to some degree. Just have to listen to your gut.
anniealso- I am definitely never going back to that hospital ever again! I like your idea about contacting the AMA. You probably can't sue if they almost kill you, just if they succeed! I do think, like you said, there was an angel there that night, and that it was my Dad. Love your new photo, by the way!
MBJ- The hospital was the University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. It's supposedly one of the top rated hospitals in the U.S. Go figure!
m-star- LOL! LOL! Yes, you can't leave me alone anymore. Bad stuff happens. Hope you had fun on your trip. Bet you totally rocked the whole bikini thing!
DiDel, Lilah, Dawne-Hope, jazzygem, Fimi and Adnerb- Thanks for all the well wishes. It really means a lot.
So I'm trying not to focus on the bad stuff, though I do feel like the positivity stuffing was knocked out of me. I do feel VERY happy with the results, though. Just can't wait to get the drains out. My PS is going on vacation so my BS said she'd take them out which is nice. I really like her and was not scheduled to see her again until October. I may fill her in one what happened and see what she thinks I should do as I respect her opinion a lot.

Kate -- I do think you can sue -- for the suffering they caused you while they were lying to you and trying to fix their F up. Also: yes a slight fever is normal as the body accepts the implants (the foreign object) -- you're absolutely right. One of the 10 thousand brochures I got from MSKCC when I had my surgery said as much... if it goes over 101 and/or lasts longer than 24 - 48 hours you should contact your doctor (at least those were my instructions). I too spiked a slight fever for about 24 hours a few days after surgery and then it went away (to my relief).

DRAINS?

My PS always uses drains with exchange, Whitedove... some don't. Are you asking because you're surprised to hear about drains at exchange or because you have yet to have them and don't know what they are?

THE MOST AMAZING THING HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!!!
It is a good thing I am typing this, because I can barely talk, and I have been bawling like a baby for the past hour! I walked in the front door an hour ago, half of my mouth completely numb after a dental procedure. So you can imaging what the blubbering sounds like, sniveling out of half the side of your face.
So I came home to find boxes of roses on the table, and the most incredible engraved gift. It is a sparkling snow globe which is also a music box, in my favorite silver color, and it says, " Thank you for everything Breast Whisperer. You're in our hearts forever. The Ta Ta Sisterhood." I just want to keep reading it over and over again. I am just floored!! And the letter Laura sent to me with all of your names....I just sat out in my back yard, sobbing while reading this. I am going to take pictures of the roses and the memory globe and post them later. I have to say that when I opened the box, by now realizing this might be a group endeavor, I half anticipated that somehow, somewhere, one of you had absconded with a breast implant, and that it had all of your names on it. I wondered how I would display something like this.
But this is such a HUGE, HUGE surprise and you did not have to do this....I am blessed beyond belief for helping each and everyone of you and yet, I am so grateful and so glad you DID do this for me. It reinforces that we are not just cyber-connected...that we are not only defined and recognized by a little avatar and the words we write, but we are connected, heart and soul to each other through this journey and through the love and anguish and hope we have shared together. Our relationship with each other can transcend a little six by four inch reply box on these threads and I know this especially, because of what you did for me today. Frankly, a few weeks ago, I thought I would like to be put into a coma and completely bypass my 60th birthday, but today I am pretty darn happy I did not go into a coma after all.
I love you! Bless your hearts....
Deborah

Happy Birthday, Deborah!
I've been offline for a month with lots of personal drama, but was so heartened to come back and hear about Deborah's surprise.
Estepp and Lilah, I love your new pics. You both look beautiful!
Wishing all of you having procedures soon easy healing. You'll get to the other side even if it doesn't feel that way today. I'm five months out from my exchange and feel great. My bikini looks pretty great, too. I've been kayaking and swimming, trying to strengthen my pecs and arms, and it's working well, without too much soreness.
Happy 4th, BC sisters!
Maggie

Kate: I am so glad that you had angels looking out for you! Probably should have worn your combat boots into surgery! Seriously, I have a very dear friend who's mom recently died from complications of surgery from a rare ovarian cancer. Her family is from Arizona and I believe that is the same hospital that she went to. Well, They tried to re-admit her because she was having trouble breathing and they wouldn't let her back in the hospital, sent her home and she died of a pulminary embolism enroute to the hospital a day later. My friend and her family is in so much grief so I haven't mentioned it once but I would really speak up about it. You would be doing a service to others who aren't as strong as you. It is absolutely horrible what they put you through. My husband thinks I am a crazy woman because when it comes to hospitals and doctors, I quadruple check everything. They make mistakes all the time and you do need an advocate there for you. I am so happy that you love your foobs!!! Can't wait till you post!
