Love Angus....sounds like he is clearly Dr. Angus /' . '\  all the doggies are so wonderful ♥

Jennifer so glad they identified your rash and you can now get better! phew!

    Welcome tryingtostaypossitive :)

Today I got my cholesterol and thyroid results.......they were better than they have ever been...geez!  Total cholesterol 190, great HDL, low LDL and low triglycerides.....go figure. My doc says my heart has nothing to do with the way I have taken care of myself....all my numbers have always been better than average.......ah well...... my heart has a mind of it's own =\

Lilah, I never had chemo. The cause is most likely a long string of events causing great stress and sadness when I lost my son.....the heart muscle it seems is more than just a muscle...

So Smudge and I will do a long walk today :) and enjoy ourselves thoroughly :)  I've done everything I can do.....so time to get on with it.

Laura....no results yet?!?!?! I would start some serious pestering! >=(

Strength healing and laughter where ever you find it :)

Laura2 - I bet you're relieved to finally have a diagnosis. Now you can take care of it and get stronger. I admire your courage and strength with all you've been through. Your attitude is amazing. Keep up the good fight!

Doctor called this morning. The heart monitor looked relatively ok. He wants him to have an echo cardiogram to check deeper. I think this is good news ...

Laura2... with all the heart issues your family has had.... how did they find them?

Laura -- Sounds like cautious optimism but would be good to know something more definitive.  How are you doing?

    Kay,

The link code that you want is: HTML for websites & blogs

Copy and paste that on your post here.  (Click on the tree and paste in "image url" box.)

You may end up with 2 images, so preview and delete one of the images.

    Hope this helps you.

Lilah:  Thank you for asking about my rash.  It is getting better every day.  I still don't know what caused it.  My skin was never this sensitive before BC.  Chemo may still be the culprit.  My oncologist thinks the rash is "harmless" and I go to my FU appointment with GP this Friday.

The pre-op nurse called me again today to prep me for the upcoming surgery.  It's postponed for August 5, barring unforeseen circumstances.  Thank goodness I don't have to fill out the same forms.  They do need to get another blood count, but that can be done right before surgery, the nurse said.

Brenda- Too bad Angus can't come over for a play date!  LOL!

Laura- I am so sorry your son is having to go through all of this testing.  We've all been there but can't imagine what it's like to have your child go through it.  Am hoping further testing gives you the whole picture and that if anything needs to be done it is a simple fix.

Laura2- You have an amazing spirit and are so strong.  After all you've been through you're still so positive and happy!  Hope you and Smudge having many adventuresome walks together!

I had my appointment with my PS today to have all of my Alloderm stitches removed.  What a relief!  I had found a small lump last week (and totally freaked) but was just inflammation from one of the stitches.  My PS said everything looked good and still wants me to be her "poster child".  I said only if they photo-shopped my love handles away before putting me on their web site!  LOL!  She wants to see my again in a month, then 3, then 6 and then a year.  Did everyone have to do that many follow ups with the PS after exchange?  Seems a little excessive!

I've seen my PS a lot after exchange. Between the exchange and nips I've seen him 7 times since Sept. when I had the exchange.   I go back for a final visit in late Aug.  Then I don't know if I need to go back unless there's a problem.

Kate - my PS has a similar follow-up schedule.  After my drains and sutures were out after my exchange, I think I had followups at 4 and 8 weeks.  Then we decided on a revision, and it all started again.  He told me that after my final follow-up after my tats - which is in a couple of weeks - we'll be on 3, 6, then 12 months followups.  He said he's found that it often helps to "gently wean" us, especially for some of us who have had monthly or more frequent PS visits for over a year.  I joked - though was frankly truthful - with my DH that I had more dates with my PS in 2009 that I had w/ him! (and I know, 'cause I counted all my appts that year - over 20!)

Ladies, thank you for sharing your dog pics these past few days.  We had to say goodbye to our sweet almost 13 yr-old Gordon Setter on Monday evening, so it's been a lonely few days around the house.  Seeing your happy pups on the day we had to say goodbye to her was a happy coincidence!

Laura -I'm w/ Whippetmom......what do you mean by "relatively/"  An echo is a good thing....they'll be able to learn a lot from it.    And I promise to PM you my info.....I'm one of the bad ones....Embarassed

I asked the same question Deborah. He told me that if Taylors heart rate had been normal... then the monitor reading would have been right on. Due to his heart rate reading 49... the monitor had some "off" readings... thus the Echo Cardiogram.

We are still praying.. and wishing only good results... But we do feel better knowing that two of three tests have come back pretty close to normal. The Echo should tell the story...... if there is one to tell.

    Thank you  sisters!

I work a lot of hours the next few days.. so I won't be online too much... so.. you all take care of eachother... ya hear!!

Val... you and I post at these same times a LOT....lol....so sorry about your dog,,,, it takes some time to get over it. Todd and I had three dogs in our marriage.

    A Yellow Lab

    A White 5 pound Pomeranian

    A Red 4 pound Pomeranian

Can anyone guess whose dog was Todd's???

Anyway...we had to put all three dogs down in a two yr period. They were 19,17,11. IT WAS TERRIBLE.

Someday I want another Pom... they are just so sweet..

for now.. as DH and I wanna travel more as our kids are grown.. we feel it is not fair to get a dog that we have to board a lot... and is home alone 5 days a week while a puppy, while dh and I work.

So I got two cats......LOL.. I love them and the are FINE while we work. I HAD to have an animal in the home.. I do believe this i in the Bible somewhere..... all you Solo Scripture ladies will know where it talks about this... us Catholics... we never read the bible... ( LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL) just an Old Catholic joke.

    XXXOOO

Val- So sorry about the loss of your dog.  Dogs only have one fault and that is that they don't live long enough!  But they give us so much joy while they are here.

Dawne-Hope and Flacracker- Two more days to Yippee Squishees!!!  Are you excited?  Hope all goes well on Friday and you are back home snug in your bed in no time!

Hi girls.  I mostly just "lurk" and read all your wonderful comments and stories.  All my BC sisters are ALWAYS in my prayers.  I go for my exchange in just a few hours- can't sleep a wink!  Please keep good vibes for me also and I will finally have something to share on this thread once I get my squishees! Hugs♥

tamgam- Glad you posted!  Good luck tomorrow!!!  I was the same way the night before mine.  I figured I'd get enough sleep when they put me under!  Anyway, hope it goes well and you, too, are snug as a bug back home with your squishees!   Sending LOTS of positive vibes your way and gentle (((hugs)))) tomorrow!

Laura:  I'm doing much better and my rash is finally healing!  You and your son are in my thoughts and prayers.  I'm Catholic as well, and that joke is correct as far as I am concerned.  I do have a few bibles at home, different versions, you know, but I have not read any of them.  My mother, however, reads it every single day and has a direct line of communication with Jesus.

Kate33:  Next time you're in San Diego, we can have a play date.  Angus is very mellow and super friendly (not arrogant like other Scotties).  He does think he is the king of this house and we are all his subjects.

Val:  Your pet is in Dog Heaven.  There is a book with the same title by Cynthia Rylant,  It's a children's book, very touching and uplifting.  I think she also wrote Cat Heaven.
