Happy squishy to every one having surgeries!!!! I don't think anyone sleeps the night before. But as it was said, there is plenty of sleep time during surgery and after you get home.
It is the hardest thing to have to put a dog down. 5 years ago we had to put down our 10 yr old cattle dog who had a brain tumor. For weeks I kept thinking that the vet didn't really put her to sleep and she was with another family. Ridiculous. Our pets are our fur babies. We now have a rather large 3 year old poodle mutt and a 9 yr old sheltie.

thanks for breaking through the photo wall Laura, I had a heart murmur all my life and I have had no problems with it at all....I lived a very full and athletic life. I have always been very physical....from mucking my horse's stall and stacking hay bails when I was a pre-teen
Let your son know that the eco-cardiogram is fascinating. He will get to see his heart beating on the monitor.....it doesn't hurt at all and is kind of amazing I do believe if I hadn't had such an extreme shock in my life a few years ago followed by grief and years of high stress I would have continued with a murmur for the rest of my life and that would be the end of it. I am hoping you get good news, if the docs were alarmed in any way they would have your son come in straight away. I think the eco is a great test just to make sure all the heart valves and heart chambers are working properly....a murmur can just be caused by a slightly different rhythm and not be cause for worry. Broken Heart Syndrome is not connected to heart murmurs......it can happen to completely "normal" hearts..so do not take what has happened to me as cause for future worries. Most heart murmurs are no cause for alarm or altering your life. Hope your son has a great outcome!!!! Prayers to you Laura, your son and to your family ♡Thanks again for everyones kindness.......now lets get back to bitching about boobies

Hello, I was just checking in! Man, does this site flys!!! Tommorow is my exchange date!! Yea!!!! I want Diana Ross song "I'm coming out" played. I don't think they will do it, I will just have it in my mind! It has been almost a year with TE's. A load off my chest! 800cc each one.It will be my 4th surgery in a year, hopefully my last! Worried still but happy too! Thank you all for all the support and information!

Sorry about the loss of your setter. i had to put down my two a year apart, they were both 12 and I thought I'd never get over it. But it's been 2 years and I've got my two new muttleys to keep me hopping.
Estepp: your hair grew back straight? I've got very curly, kinky really, hair and was dreading it coming back even curlier/kinkier after chemo. I've never heard of anyone's hair coming back straight. Maybe I'll get that!
My TEs have really been hurting the last two days. I've had them 2 weeks now and this is the first they've really bothered me. think maybe I've just overdone it or something? I did get out and grocery shop yesterday (too much, but I'm soooo bored).

Laura- OMG, that is the cutest picture ever of Smudge with his head hanging out the window. You should enter it in a photo contest. Adorable!
Wanda- Hope your surgery is going well. You will be so amazed how much better you feel with the TE's gone. (I can't believe you had them for a year!) And I think the recuperation for this surgery is so much easier than all the others. (I had 4 different ones in 6 months! So glad to be done!)
The morning of my exchange surgery I turned on the radio and "Change is Gonna Come" was playing. Thought is rather appropriate, especially the lyrics-
"It's been a long, a long time coming but I, I know a change gonna come, oooh yes it will!"
LadyinBama- I found when my TE's were hurting that gentle stretches kind of loosened everything up, especially doing them while you were taking a warm shower. Hang in there!

I put this on another post but thought I'd put it here, too. When I met with my PS yesterday they gave me my I.D. cards for my implants and some warranty registration information. (Never thought my boobs would have a warranty!)Someone had asked what happens if something goes wrong with your implants years down the road so I just thought I'd share what was in the Mentor brochure. If you have implants as a result of BC and reconstruction then insurance has to cover the costs of replacements even if it's 20 years down the road. I have Mentor implants and the implants, themselves, have a lifetime guarantee. It states that if you have a confirmed rupture you are eligible for up to two replacement breast implants of any size in a similar style at no charge. (That wouldn't count doctor/surgical costs but that's where your insurance steps in.) There is also an additional 10 year warranty. The warranty pays up to $3500.00 for operating room, anesthesia and surgical charges not covered by insurance and only applies to implants after 5/01/09. There is no additional charge for these warranties.You can register either online or by mailing in the form. So all you post exchange women send in those registrations!

I LOVE all your dogs!!! Weeeee, that is a great shot Laura! I miss my adorable dog, I do have 4 wonderful cats, but I don't think anyone has ever loved me unconditionaly as much as my dog did!!

Kate -- I'm not sure there is a registration for the Allergan 410 Gummy implant (since it is still in trials). I did have to fill out a bunch of forms for the trials, though I don't recall any of them being a warranty.

Wow! I am gone 9 hours a day for work and it takes me an hour to catch up on ready.. Not complaining though, I actually love it! Brenda glad your rash is clearing up.. I have been on 2 meds since Tuesday and don't see too much of a difference but I have to give it some time I guess. I have another 5 days before I am done. My surgery was canceled 2 times so far and my new exchange date is August 4. Can't wait and I certainly hope it happens this time.
Kate glad you mentioned the warranties. I think this time I will really fill them out and mail them back since they will be with me for life.. Not like the appliance warranties that I throw away or put in a drawer and forget about.. Good luck for everyone with their surgeries! I will keep you all in my prayers

Ladies... I have an amazing weekend ahead.... full of grandchildren and family..:) my grandaughter and niece.. ( 2 and 10) are having a girls spend the night at our home... just the three of us... we are kicking out ALL men! HEHE... we are gonna go to my Salon and get our hair done.... and then our nails and toes painted.... etc....such fun!

Laura -- that sounds so fantastic! When I was little I used to play hairdresser with my grandmother's next door neighbor, who used to let me do her hair and tell her fortune with cards (I no longer recall HOW I told her fortune with regular playing cards, but I had a system lol). You must be the world's BEST grandma

I just received results of my blood test and my white blood cell count is at 2.9, the lowest it has been since chemo (it was 3.2 right before my surgery and 7.8 right after). Anyone else have this problem as I am concerned it will delay my exchange surgery?

MBJ- How did you get your WBC test results? Did they give you any indication of what could be causing it? Hope you get it resolved soon so you don't have to delay your exchange.
I've been having a lot of nerve pain since exchange. I am seeing my GP on Monday so am thinking about asking her about Gabapentin. I've seen some posts saying it's great for that and for hot flashes! It's two, two, two drugs in one! Has anyone ever tried it or is taking it now?

Just wanted to let you girls know that my exchange was a breeze! YAY! The turtle shells are gone and I am very comfortable. I only took one pain pill and now its just Advil. I am still tired but feel very normal. Not sure how I like the new foobs. They seem a little strange but I am reserving judgement for a few weeks. My PS has me as is. No bra, no bandages- nothing. It feels comfy but strange considering what you girls have worn right after exchange. I will be heading to Nordstroms in a few weeks though. I can not wait for some nice bras to enhance my new foobs.
I am horrified by the noises the implants make! OMG! My kids find it hysterica,l but me- not so much! Please tell me they go away!
