Thank you for all your wisdom re tape adhesive allergies. You all have given me great advice, but of course you would! Thank you! Bought some cloth tape and it makes all the difference in the world! I'm going to not have any tape on my skin for a couple of days because it's not happy. But I will take all your advice, alternate, not put much on my skin ... thank you.
You all are some very wise women! Thank you!

Dawne-Hope - Glad the cloth tape is working well!

Lilah - I am now wondering if it could be a nerve. Hadn't thought of that. I see my ps tody and am hoping for some answers/ help.
They don't tell you in the beginning that all these 'little' things can occur. Maybe it was just my surgeon but if it hadn't been for bc.org I would not have known at all what to expect. I have a very good team and know my quality of care was excellent but there are so many little things no one thinks to tell you!
I hope everyone is feeling better today and able to enjoy friends and family whatever holiday you celebrate. Thank you all!

Tina ~ sending up prayers for you this morning! Hope you feel better today.
Everette~ congrats on the exchange. I'm glad all went well. Do you remember what other suggestions your PS recommended re: the inflated te?
Looney ~ your comment about feeling like you were talking about shoes, not boobs cracked me up. I wish it could be much simpler. It all makes my head swirl. Part of me wonders if it would be best to just forget recon and get some cool tattoos and call it a day and proceed with MY LIFE!!!! You're ahead of me in this process - thanks for sharing.

Mom3b -- eh, some surgeons just aren't communicators
I hope you get some relief soon!0 -
Momof3--my PS explained that I could have pain for at least a year, as it takes the nerves and muscles so long to heal internally. He was unconcerned about my pain. It did go away, but when I get up in the AM it's there.
Dawn--No more Nip Hat for me! 2 weeks post. He said I don't even need the gauze. I don't have to go back for 3 months!! So far it's the LONGEST I've gone without seeing a dr. Can anyone say withdrawal?? Are you still oozing blood? Got out of the shower this AM and I was oozing a bit, but it stopped and I just have my dark bra on! Do you really need the gauze now? Feels so good to be FREE! I still am using the paper tape on my scars. 3M called Micropore. It's done wonders. Hope you heal fast!
It's been 3 months since my exchange and my foobs are still strange to me. So much bigger than what I was and when I don't have a bra on, they are heavy! I'm sure as time goes on, they'll become like an old familiar shoe! Once I get finished with my tats in a few months!
Congrats on the exchanges girls. Hope you are have been blessed by the foob fairy! Be patient!!
Off to look at the new pics.
I also won't be on anymore until after Christmas. May I just say:
May you ALL have a Wonderful, Peaceful, Happy, Blessed and Merry Christmas and Holiday.
Much love to all my fellow compadres!

Hi ladies..... I am nearly 2 weeks post exchange. Tomorrow at 1:30 is the "unveiling" .... to remove the steri-strip and see the new scar ... over the old scar. The past two weeks have been pretty easy. No pain meds needed after 2 days and I have just been taking it easy and trying not to lift or push or pull too much, yet stretching whenever possible. Before my exchange I had no cleavage and now I do.. right where it's supposed to be. Much of the tightness from the "iron bra" is already gone... but there is still that feeling underneath that you know you have something foreign under your skin.... Im guessing some of that will never dissipate - nor will most of the numbness on my sides and back from the Lat Flap. Small price to pay I suppose.
Merry Christmas to all

PS... I have a friend who had the same exact surgeries I did.... she is 1 year ahead of me. Had her nipples done and later the areola tattooed .... I am seriously considering not having nipples done at the PS and maybe just getting a nipple tattoo..... I kind of dont see the point (no pun intended)....
Anyone have any thoughts....

Wow, you all have been busy and I have missed much!
EastCoastGirl: I think getting a fill once a week is really aggressive, although you may have enough skin to allow for this due to your previous size. Did your dr. use an Alloderm sling when he did the MX? This will really help with the wrinkles, but gummybear or not, we all have a little bit of wrinkling. Going bigger then the TE fill seems to address this some and so does fat grafting at the time of exchange. Does your dr. do fat grafting?
As for all the other posts I will go check out the new pics on the picture forum--I noticed the most dramatic changes at post 3 months +. Unfortunately, mine also became smaller with the drop and fluff. Hoping I won't need to go up a size, but I really miss being as large as I was immediately after surgery
.DawneHope: glad that switching tape helped.
stlcardsfan: Congratulations!!!
Diane: Congratulations and good luck at your reveal!

Hi mom3b: Sorry I didn't answer sooner but I just read your post about the pain in your rib area. Maybe you've already talked to your PS but I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone. It happened to me as well. My PS did a lot of pocket work...attaching muscle to the rib membrane and for several weeks after the surgery, my muscles would go into painful spasms. It really hurt. I called my PS and was told that it was expected and all part of the healing. I didn't enjoy it either. My spasms peaked 5-6 weeks out and then they disappeared. I didn't have them that bad before so maybe we're all a little different as far as timeframe. Now I just get twinges. Best of luck with your healing and wishing you better nights of sleeping. P.S. Oops...just saw your follow up post that your saw your PS and he explained the pain. Glad he told you that everything's ok and you're just healing. Oh...my P.A. told me to take 800mg of Motrin for the pain. That would be a prescription dose. It did help.

EastCoastGirl--slow down on the fills. You can ask for 50-70ccs per fill and go every two weeks. It can get very painful towards the end for some of us w/ 100cc fills. I cut mine to 70cc and it was doable. You need Whippetmom to help you on size, but I can tell you I got the 650cc implants and I'm 5'10", l45 lbs. I think they look like a decent size C although Nordstrom's measured me a D. They feel a little big to me, but I was smaller before. All in all, pretty good in terms of size. I also got high profile. If you want a little more projection, maybe that would be good for you? deekaay

Hi all! Thanks everyone. I did see my ps today and he explained that I had had some capsular contraction due to rads so he did do some extra work there. He had to put in some extra stitches right under the foob, right where it hurts. Travelgal- sounds just like what you wrote about. He did say it would resolve on it's own in time and try some Motrin.
I hope I grow to like these things as well as I do my shoes (my Dansko's)! So far, no so much. I look like someone split a cantaloup and glued it on my chest. My ps did say we could do some revision work. He was laughing as he said it because he knows me well enough to know I won't do it! No more surgery! It's not so much the surgery it's the recovery! I am very impatient and hate not being able to do what I want when I want. I sound like a brat!

Mom3b -- LOL on wanting to like them as much as your shoes! Be patient... they will get a more natural look in time.

MGJ- Thanks for the response
Yes, my doctor used Alloderm. My skin is somewhat thin and I am not sure now if I even want any more fills? I'm at 500 and from reading I probably want 600-650 implants. It seems going bigger with the implant will help somewhat with rippling. I will ask him when I go next week to see what he says about this. And yes, he does do fat grafting and has mentioned it to me.deekaay- Thanks! Yes, I am really leaning towards the 650, however its such a fine line....don't want to be too large but not too small either. Just not sure. So confusing...wish I knew exactly, don't want to have to do a re-do but know there is no way to be absolute.

Mom3b.. Now that you mention it, I like my Danskos a lot better than my implants, also!
Hey there Lilah, been wondering what you've been up to. Hope you've been good-busy, enjoying the holidays.

Deekaay: I didn't know you were 5'10" and 145!! I am 6' and 150 and I so should have had the 650's! They only gave me 550 and the wrinkling is just getting worse.

Thanks Jerusha! Yes very busy the past few weeks but looking forward to some R and R between now and the new year!

You're up late! Good thing I have to go to work or I might become completely nocturnal!

MBJ, yeah, you and I are two of the tall girls on here. Firni, too, I think. I'll have to post an update soon so you can see the 650s on me. I had a Lat D on one side so I have a little more tissue on one side, but I got 650s on both sides.
I am starting to like my girls a little more. I took a break from the daily vigil of inspection which was making me crazy. I still have some ripples which I don't like--I decided I'll revisit that in March. I'm sure you've read on here that going bigger seems to take care of ripples for some, not for others. I definitely don't want bigger, just smoother. Of course if I stand perfectly straight, no ripples! I just have to make perfect naked posture a New Year's Resolution!!! lol, deekaay.

Can anyone tell me how to add a picture? I finally uploaded pics of my new babies and wanted to share them with you all.
Thanks

Deekay: Can't wait to see your update. I will have to take my own advice to you about fat grafting, but I don't want to do my nip until I know this is what I am keeping. Very wrinkled every time I move, and my posture is pretty good, most of the time. You can't see it in my pics because with my arms up taking a photo the wrinkles go into hiding. I want smoother and bigger, call me crazy lol!

and by "new babies" I mean my puppy and my kitten

DiDel: You must show pictures of your new babies!!!

Wishing each of you the happiest of holiday seasons!!
DiDel -- can't wait to see pics of your babies!
I'm back on antibiotics -- this time for a UTI. My incision is still seeping and the doc thinks it is probably good for me to be on antibiotics for that as well. Also have a nasty head cold, but can't let these things slow me down since our family will be here tomorrow evening and Saturday and there is much to do before then. Thank goodness for cold pills, antibiotics and a helpful family.

OMG Bonnie tell your body to stop it already!!!! (I'm sure you would if you could). Sending you mega hugs and tea and sympathy.

Bonnie - so sorry you are really having a rotten time these days. Enough is right!
Well, I think I have figured out why I am unhappy wih my exchange. I think I had unrealistic expectations. I think I thought I'd somehow look 'normal' after the exchange. I also expected to really feel more comfortable. Everyone talks about how their tightness goes away. Mine is the same as it was before....more on the rads side. I guess I now know what my new 'look' is and it's not going to change. Sigh. My ps talked about doing some revisions and/or fat grafting. I don't want anymore surgery. I am tired of recovering. I have 4 young kids and I am usually a very active, busy, do -for -myself, outside, person. I feel like I wasted a year of my life. Stupid foobs.
Ok, thanks for the vent.
Happy Holidays!
