Hello everyone...I am having trouble sleeping so jus thought i'd pop in here

and say HI.  Have to be at work at 8:00...which will make for a long day.

I have dentist appointment at 3:00PM....cavity & crown..unfortunately due to

childhood trauma going to the dentist terrifies me so that along with other issues keeps me awake...

I am going to go lay back down and try my best to get in another hour or two.

Wish me luck!  I have high anxiety....so I think I'll take a half Xanax also.  That may

do the trick.   Have a good day everybody!

Laura....glad your hail did not do the damage it might have. Whew !!!  We are going to have another fantastic ( 81 degrees ) day here.  Soon we will drop back to 50's and 60's  but I am enjoying the preamble.

Long day yesterday.......took Maggie to the hospital.  Hope we get her all fixed up.  Some catch-up things to do today.

Denise.....I too am "shy" of dentists due to childhood.  Thank goodness I sleep soundly but the couple of times didn't....it was the pits.  I hope things calm for you because things are always so much easier when you are rested....and I think you can find the calm part of you easier too.

Hi to everyone else.  Hope your day is good.

    Hugs, Jackie

Happy Monday to you all. I am official on spring break this week but the weather is not what I have hoped for. Jackie I am so jealous that you have nice hot weather by you. Beach weather 80 degrees. aahhh. Spring is here but teasing us with these bouts of nice weather. The lake up north is still frozen. sniff sniff. Rain was really bad up there yesterday with a nice lighting show too.

Zap...my heart goes out to your dd and family. It was in God's hands. Hope she is doing well. Spring break is coming for you soon. Hope you get to enjoy it.

Laura....hope you are feeling better soon. Viruses can be very nasty. We have lots of strep in my building this week. So glad the kids are off and can rest without getting me sick. lol

Denise....hoping for a good dental appt for you. Smile!!

Rita....how was your grandson's bday party. Fun!! There were golfers on the golf course Sat up north. It was to cold for me but fun to watch them. That's what you call die hard golfers. lol

Makmak... have a fun trip with your kids. Almost done with your trial. Feel well.

Lago...how are you doing. DD and I are doing the walk in April for the March of Dimes around Grant Park. I never have done this before so it will be fun. I hope Grant Park will have the fountains running by then. So pretty.

Wendy....how are you girl. Spring break for dh soon. Let the fun begin. Lunch soon.

Joan....you must be busy with all this travel. Have fun with gd.

Well just wanted to stop by for a quick hi to all. Lunch is Thursday so I hope some of you can make it. It is always a good chatty time for all. Time to get my butt in gear for some major house cleaning. Have a great week....Enjoy.

Think spring, flowers and warm sunshine.

Good morning! Well, it looks as though the rain, hail and thunder is gone. It was quite crazy here in the forest yesterday.

Today dh and I are going to look at property to possibly build a house in our local Country Club development. This would be a perfect down-size situation. The CC has a huge pool, golf course, tennis courts and a restaurant. The floor plans (there's several to choose from) are about half the size of our current house. Association does all lawn and snow maintenance. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! We shall see.

***Looking forward to Thursday's Lunch Bunch. Maggiano's, Schaumburg, noon...if you want to just pop in, that's fine...or if at the last minute you can join us...we'll just pull up an extra chair.

    bj - ENJOY YOUR FREEDOM!

    Have a nice Monday!

The seasons are shifting, The winter shades lifting,
    The springtime is filling
    Earth's children with mirth.
The daffodil yellow, The south wind so mellow,
    The gentle rain falling,
    Upon the green earth.
The song sparrow singing, New life quickly springing,
    All nature is telling
    A tale of rebirth:
The deep wells of being, Beyond each day's seeing,
    O'er flowing with new Life,
    Restoring the earth.

Thanks!  Anne and her DH are doing well and moving on as they need to do.  BJ, there is no doubt in my mind that I will have a great break.  I have things scheduled already and I am looking forward to it.  DH and I are going up to Wisconsin for some R and R. I am so excited about the New Mexico trip in May. I love the colors, missions and just the feel of the southwest....so peaceful and enduring.

I'm crazy busy this week. Even today I've barely been online. Looks really nice out. I hope to be out power walking in an hour. Looks like the rest of the week is going to be crappy. Herceptin infusion tomorrow. I think this is the 1/2 mark if I include the ones from chemo.

BJ Let me know when and I'll come by to cheer you guys one if I can.

Adey nothing going on the beginning of April… not even a doctor appointment! Lets try and do it. Your considering getting oophed?! How do they decide who should ooph and who shouldn't ooph.

    Zap...so sorry for your loss.

Thanks everyone else for the well wishes regarding the dentist.

I'm done for now...one cavity and  temporary crown...they coud not use all the normal pain meds due to treatments I've had??? But I did OK ...I just tense up so bad but the good thing is the numbing meds they were able to give me wear off quicker...so that is good...I took Ibuprofen to ward off the pain so feeling pretty good actually.  I will probally sleep better tonight without the added stress.

Love the springy weather....getting ready to walk to the soccer field to watch 4 year old grandson play soccer....that will be my treat.

Laura..that sounds lovely...no yard maintenance even better!

BJ, we haven't made our final plans but we are thinking Elkhart near Plymouth Lake.  There is a resort there that is owned by Paul's fraternity brother's family ( I sound like we are in our twenties and they act that way when they get together).  There are a number of wonderful antique stores there.  I would love to see you and your husband again, but you will be back at work. Maybe it will happen.  I thought about heading to Madison to support our Wisconsin teachers and nurses,  and other state workers, but I know I just am unable to do that right now.  Very tired!

Denise, I share your dental anxiety.  I actually would much prefer a mammogram to a visit to the dentist, although the mri throws me into a tailspin of nerves.

Thanks again regarding my dd and sil's miscarriage.  Everyone is doing just fine and this is minor as compared to other life losses.  I am so proud of my daughter and her husband. I think women are just incredible.  They just pick up and remain so strong.  This actually brought me closer to my dd as we talked about my own two miscarriages.  Connie, your words are so genuine.  It is something one never truly forgets.  You recall the due date when it comes and then passes and you periodically wonder about that little soul who made it into your imaginations, dreams  and hearts, if not into your real time.

Laura, that move sounds good to me.....no more buckthorn,

    Take care!

Happy Rainy Tuesday. Looks like it is a stay in type day. Thankfully I can run on the treadmill at home to get in shape for my walk. The March of Dimes baby walk is April 17 in Grant Park. My dd's apt building is sponsoring a group and I have joined them as my dd was a preemie baby. It is a wonderful cause as women need to have healthy babies. We have too many preemies being born these days, and most have special needs as they grow up. With good pregnacy medical care women can have healthy babies. So I am walking for this cause with dd. Lago if you are around Grant Park that day stop by and say hi.

Zap...we are up north on the weekends now so if you are in LG let me know and we can get together for lunch. Spring break is almost here for you.!!

Laura...moving and building. Did you find a new house. I will down size in a few years maybe. Lunch on Thurs.

Denise ...glad to see your dentist appt went well. I love to have my teeth cleaned. I go every 4 months to have this done. Need to have pearly smile. lol

Connie.... are your kids on break too. I can't wait for boating season. The lake up north is still frozen. sniff sniff. I saw fishermen out on the lake last weekend. Not a good sign.

Adey..how is the running coming along. Keep up the good job. You can do it.!!!!

Jackie..how is Maggie feeling. better I hope. You are a wonderful friend to her. are you still have nice weather.

Well off to run some errand and then more spring cleaning. Have a stay in cozy Tuesday.

Hope all is well to those in treatment...

    Stay dry.

Still good weather here, but I think cooler with rain is coming --- hmmm, maybe coming from Chicago, huh !!!!  It will help all those little buds and the beginnings of the vibrant "Spring" green that is allowing itself to be seen here and there in the woods.  To use an old fashioned phrase....this time of year always tickles my fancy -- it is our gift for the long winter.

Ah, BJ -- your senses are in tune.  Sunday I needed to get Maggie to the hospital.  She was having a bout of congestive heart failure.  That means a little double-duty for me as in going over in the a.m. to let the dogs out and then again in the afternoon to clean and feed and water etc.  In the meantime.....a little visit to the hospital to take her newspaper and her all time favorite.....a cup of McDonalds coffee.  How many times I've tried to get her to chase it with an equal size glass of water -- sigh.

Sorry about that....have done it before.  I'll be back to see you all later.  Dh's truck is back on the Fritz and he needs a ride to work.  Hope you all have a great day....no matter what the weather.

    Hugs, Jackie

Thank you Jackie for a wonderful quote. It is a wonderful cause and I am so proud that my dd is doing this. She is raising money to help the March of Dimes. As a preemie she knows all to well that good health care is needed. So she and I will walk together to help future babies.

Morning...cold and rainy and dreary on the deck, 40 degrees.  Yuck.

Jackie....lovely quote for BJ this am!  You were at 80???  Boy, what a difference a few hours make....

BJ...where oh where is my beach chair??????

Susan....I am so sorry for DD and her loss.  Next week is your spring break...DH's too...I certainly hope the weather is good for your WI trip!  Snow would NOT be appreciated by you I am sure!

Lago...power walks are great!  Did them all the time when I lived in Chicago.  Out here....there's nothing to walk to or by, you are lucky you have a sidewalk!  I tried doing it in Geneva which is lovely with the river and all the shops...but therein was the problem!  I kept stopping to shop!  Got too expensive!

Laura....wow!  A new house???  I didn't know you even had yours up for sale!  Hard time to sell tho....but this is the best time so good luck!  Yes...no more buckthorn!

Not much going on around here today.....I do have more outside work to do but the weather is not cooperating.  And with the temps in the 30's the rest of the week and weekend, I think I will just hold off.  The yardwork always waits for me....

Elf....I guess you moved!  We will miss your "sparkling" personality!  You better stay in touch, young lady!

Jan....how's the vacation/retirement house?  Getting it all fixed up just the way you want?

Rita...how's the healthy eating working out?  Turns out I like oatmeal...well, if I buy the instant, flavored ones that is!  I buy the store brand of the high fiber type.  For snacks I stick with apples (love Fuji) and shredded wheat, chocolate and fruit-in-the-middle types and of course, a teeny handful of walnuts.  My colon is now VERY healthy and hopefully soon my LDL will be a bit better but until August, 2012 when I am done with arimidex, I guess I am stuck.  Hows the walking?  Have you seen WendyTY recently?  I think of her every day....

Time to do something about all this dust I just noticed on the wooden blinds here in the office....jeepers!  Talk about filth...

    Have a great Tuesday all.....

    Good Morning all!

Just thought I'd do a quick check-in and get caught up on recent posts.

Zap - so sorry the news about your DD - my thoughts are with you and your family during this time. Enjoy your time off next week!

Laurra - Glad to see that you're feeling better. I did get my second hair trimming over the weekend. Not as happy with this trim as I was with the first one - not enough taken off in the back by my ears, where it's getting too thick ( I took care of that myself last night!). Took matters into my own hands!  The top and front (bang area) seems to be growing the slowest.

Went for an eye exam last week and got new glasses picked out. Vision has gotten a little worse, which surprises me, because I think it's gotten alot worse!  Having much trouble reading (trying to focus). Will see if the new glasses help - got a call last night that they're ready to be picked up.  Think I'll go get them in a little while, since it's just across town, from where I work. I hate wearing them and pretty much only wear them for driving. Well have a great day girls - work is calling me!

Oh no...I should have been more specific...we're looking around to see "what's out there", before we put our house on the market. Gotta test the water, girls! lol

makmak - If we decide on the country club...you and all the girls here are welcome ANYTIME!

ELF, ELF, ELF - I had no idea you were leaving SO SOON! Sniff, sniff... read on FB you're on the road to Oregon...wishing you and the boys a SAFE and happy trip to your new home. Don't forget to book your trip back here to join Team: NO SURRENDER this September! Laughing

Hope you are all doing well...can't wait to see as many as possible on Thursday! From downtown to LaGrange...we'll pull up chairs!

    The Way

    "To every man there openeth
A way, and ways, and a way.
And the high soul climbs the high way,
And the low soul gropes the low:
And in between, on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro.
But to every man there openeth
A high way and a low, And every man decideth
The way his soul shall go."

Good morning everyone.  Very chilly out this a.m. as we wait for rain which will be here tomorrow.  Our little taste of summer has flown the coop.  Will be in the 40's all week.  It is part of the road to summer so I'll have to be content.

Still have the vibrant spring "green" popping out all over so that will keep me going.  Some early dogwoods and Bradford pears will be right behind.

Hope you all have a great time at lunch.  I'll be thinking of you.

    Hugs, Jackie
