    Hi everyone!

I've been having trouble posting for days...and I thought about going to the Maggianos you said you were meeting at but then what would I do - stand there looking around for the group? LOL. I didn't know I would be available till yesterday when an appt got cancelled and I finally just got back on the site. I hope you all have a great day and hugs to everyone who needs them.

Oh Valgal.....what a bummer.  You'd have had a ball.  Sure glad you were able to get posting here again.  I am too far away to get to go ( hope to some day ) to any of the lunches, but I am there in spirit.  They meet up fairly frequently so hope you will keep watching for a good opportunity.

    Hugs, Jackie

    Hey Valgal,

I just got home, and we all had great fun at lunch. Just show up, and you'll know us, or we'll find you! I had to leave early for an appointment, but pics were taken and later I'm sure someone will post them. We'd love to see you.

DonnaDio is right!  You would be hard pressed NOT to find this group in any restaurant.  Various stages of hair and all.  And then, there is OnWard who's hair is sometimes on her head and sometimes adorning her purse.  Had a ball... can't wait to do it again.  Love you all Kiss.

Wish I could have made the lunch.  Today was a treatment day, so I was sitting in the infusion chair most of the day.  Only one more treatment left now, I am so excited, there is light at the end of the tunnel now.

Well I have to say our Lunch Bunch get-together was fabulous as always. Each and everyone of you look so amazing with and without your hair. It was a fun filled day and I so enjoy seeing everyone looking beautiful and healthy. You all are amazing women.

Onward the hair in the purse, priceless. It really does dress up as an accessory when not in use as a hair piece. lol

Makmak... walked right past a cute girl. Love the short do. Have a wonderful vacation with the kids. Soo jealous that you will be in warm sun, sand and a beach chair. Don't forget to check out the cabana boys and let Wendy and I know. hehe

Laura..soo happy about your new job. I guess you will have to fit us in for lunch. hehe

Smerf...as always a good chatty time. Hope dh is feeling better soon.

Lisa.. you were there in spirit as all the others who were not able to make it. Just think almost done.

Ladies,  We heard from our son Randy tonight. They are expecting their 1st baby and she is only at 30 weeks and cervix is thinning and the head is already down.  Keri is told she must sit or lay for the next weeks.  They want to get her to at least 32 weeks and 36 or more would be optimum.  This is the son who remained a batchelor until 39 and Keri is now 35 and this is their 1st baby.  Pray for a healthy baby boy who does not need the NICU because they can keep her from going into labor for a few more weeks.  She goes back next week for Dr to check again.

I appreciate all the support from you all even tho I don;t post all the time, I keep up with the posts.

Woke up to snow this morning which was actually supposed to be rain.....and it will be later I'm sure.  Quite busy yesterday and will be so again today.  Sometimes I just sit and think ......  how wonderful that I can complain about mundane things because I have no bigger complaints.  Hope you are all going to have a great day.

    Hugs, Jackie

Jackie, I think I like your statement better than any quote you've ever posted:  how wonderful that I can complain about mundane things because I have no bigger complaints.   Isn't that the truth?  You had SNOW?  It's just cold and dreary-looking here.  It's brought an abrupt halt to my outside walking.  Maybe I will get things done around here today and will head for the Mall to walk.

Wonderful picture, ladies!  Thanks Laura for posting it!  It sounds like you all had a great time, which I never doubted for a moment.  I'm so glad you can get together and chat, vent, and laugh!

Lisa....only one more?  Hey you are about there, gal!  YEA!!!!

BJ..enjoy the rest of your break and then just think.............you don't have many more days of school remaining for this year....and then you get a LONGER break!

Hugs to all of you.  I'm going to write some questions today and pick up the clutter in this house.  If time permits, I'll drive into town and walk.  Then we're meeting our golf group tonight for dinner, so on second thought, I really should drive into town and make walking a priority so I can without guilt this evening.

Marina, enjoy the sun and your time away!

Annette, I am so sorry to hear that your daughter-in-law is having problems.  I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.  Please keep us updated.  Hugs!

BJ ha stylish? Funny but I guess if you wear faded jeans and a dark or black tee shirt you are stylish. Seems to works for Steve Jobs and Michael Kors as well.

Scarf is on sale at Banana Republic. They have it in pink too. Of course what  breast cancer survivor wants more pink. Wink I mean after a while it can get a bit over the top.

    Let me know about lunch.

Joan keep me posted about Wednesday.

Onward, you crack me up. Hope the rads go well. You're almost done now right? And next time I think I will continue to order what you have.

Marina always good to see you. Love the new hair. So much better than that shiny wig.

Navy and Laura we need to talk more next time. I don't know how I seem to miss you guys.

Adey let me know when you are read to do a city thing.

Pat so glad we got to chat. Next time no leaving without posing for the group photo.

Made it to break.  Ice skated today with  80 seventh graders. I must be nuts.

DH and I decided to take a road trip to St. Paul as I have never been and why not.  I hear there are great mseums there.

    Have a fun weekend.

The weather looks kinda terrible next week and I will be traveling north so it will be worse.  No matter, Spring will come.

Annette, I dropped back in to tell you that prayers are going out for baby and mom (and son). This is  heartbreak slow motion.......but I am hoping the rest will get baby the time he/she needs to be strong.

    Dear Laura,

I don't think I'm on any lists - my personal e mail is in your PM box if you need to try to contact me in another way. Sorry I missed it - next time is fine. I live in Oak Park so I'm really inbetween for downtown or north or west!  Thanks and I hope to meet you all soon. Valerie

Edited for P.S. You all look wonderful! Love the John Lennon cap! I teach a sixties class when I'm working. Lots of fun.

Wow, you ladies all look incredible, and so happy.  I'm sorry I couldn't join you, but I'm glad you had such a great time.

Annette - Sending good thoughts for your grandbaby-to-be.  It sounds like they caught her in time to get her off her feet and make this pregnancy last as long as possible.

I'm having one of "those" days.  My family is driving me crazy tonight (in the way that only family can) and I'm sure part of it is I'm being oversensitive.  I attended a wake today for an old friend who passed rather suddenly - she was only 61 years old.  She was not a BC patient, but had some other health complications that went south very quickly.   She was a bit doctor-phobic and had likely been avoiding going in to get things checked that were going on for a long while.  It just made me really sad to go to another wake, and to look at all her life pictures that were on display.  I know... the lesson is, as always, treasure each day and live life to the fullest while you can... but I can't help being sad right now.

Sorry to whine, but I just needed to vent a bit.

    Happy Saturday everyone ~

I wanted to say hey,  give a brief update and ask for prayers about my upcoming reconstructive surgery.

I completed my 33 rounds of radiation a couple of weeks ago.    Yaaay,  I have officially graduated from cancer treatment!     Saw my oncologist  (after 3/mo.)    and he was incredibly pleased with how well I've done.....  he said  "see ya in 4 more months"   : )

I am looking forward to an upcoming vacation to Sanibel Island, FL - one of my favorite places to go & relax.     It has turned into a celebration and there are at least 15 friends & family gathering for a party, the end of April.    I will be there exactly one year from my diagnosis - and oh what a  (great)  year it has been!    I have much to be thankful for and feel incredibly blessed!

My reconstructive surgery is set for April 7th.    I will have a Latissimus Flap on my right (radiated)  side,  with a TE put in as well.    On my left  (non-cancerous) side,  I will just have the TE.     Any prayers, well-wishes and good thoughts would be appreciated as I move forward.    I am very excited about & looking forward to this next step.

Here is a current pic.....    my hair is thick (as it always was)   and I've had it colored twice since it grew in white - LOL.    Still have lots of curls in the back.   It is so easy to care for, just add a little gel and go!     We'll see what these curls do as it gets a bit longer though . . . .   *Yikes - sorry it loaded so huge!

Ginger.....you look incredible and I'm so happy for you.  What a difference a year makes, but you are making it count in such a great way.  Thoughts, prayers, happy dances and a humongous wish  that you have a grand time on Sannibel.

    Happy hugs,

    Jackie
