thanks Jan...of coure now my whole body is full of zingy pains all over ...sheesh...i am going to try to hit the sack...and hubby, bless him, brought me home a big bag of cinnamon bears to cheer me up and I CANT EAT THEM since doc said no carbs tonight- something with the sugar interfering with PET results...

Onetoughwoman -- I have found that certain exercises have helped enormously with the shoulder blade pain... like the one someone else described (sorry it's the previous page and I can't go back without losing this message) with lying on a tennis ball... there is: get a roller and lie on it and let your arms/shoulders fall back... gravity releases the pectoral muscle and eases up the strain on the shoulder blade.  I also got (from a friend who did PT) this exercise: stand with back pressed against a wall and press your elbow back... then fold arms up at elbow and try to touch the wall with the back of your hand (I still can't), keeping your wrist straight.  This movement also counters the pull of the pectoral.  Since I started doing this (about once a day) I rarely have back pain and, if I do, it is FAR less.

JoanDavies.. yes, glad you are making arrangements for your class.  I had my surgery at 930am, was on my way home from hospital around 130p.  We stopped and did a few real quick shopping errands on the way home and I was feeling much better than I'd expected. But I crashed early that night.  I know that I would not have been in any shape to make an appearance anywhere except bed that evening.  And I did not have any drains.

I'm almost 3 weeks past exchange surgery and am real comfortable wearing regular bras. My PS said that was fine.  But some of you may remember that I get to do this all over again in June to get bigger implants.  I am so enjoying these ones though.  I have been able to get back to alot of my exercise routines including some easy swimming which is helping alot to keep my LE under control.

Annettek.... good luck on your CT/PET scans tomorrow.  I had those done a few weeks prior to my exchange surgery.  Drove me nuts, but all was fine.  Rest easy.

Hi ladies.  Seems like you are all doing well.  YEA.  I am two weeks out of my exchange surgery and I have a few questions for those of you that have already had the exchange.  I had a TE exchange on the left and a lift on the right (uni) the exchange side seems smaller to me than the natural lifted side.  How long does the "fluff and drop" take and is it unusual to go back for a bigger implant after the exchange?  The implant side is flatter than the natural side.  The lift looks great and want the mast side to look good to.  Any input would be appreciated.  Thanks girls.  Have a great day..

    Jen

JenC:  Do you have access to the Picture Forum and if so have you posted your pictures?  This would make it easier to help you.  My "drop & fluff" took about 4 months so I would give it time.  My MX side also looked much flatter and then one day it all of a sudden wasn't so flat anymore!

Hi everyone. Sorry Ive been away. Dont they say the place you should be at, is the one place you stay away from.  I guess I just wanted to finally "feel" both emotionally and physically what Ive been through. What we have all been through.

If what I am reading (had to read fast to catch up to all I missed) is that the exchange surgery is not so bad. Kudo's to all of you who have had it, and are reporting that it wasnt as bad as we all think it is. I believe perhaps we are all "gun shy" since we've been through so much, and since that might be the "beginning of the end", it is fabulous news to hear.

MBJ..i'm doing the Happy dance for you! (as I missed doing it when you heard the good news)- better late then never!"

Love you all for keeping me sane!

    Hello Mykidsmom,

I guess I will officially register as a sister in waiting---I am still sore from TEs and haven't started fills.  I am also waiting results of oncotype test  to see if I need chemo.  I also am trying to catch up on terminology--what are the "gummies"?

    Thanks for the upbeat thread!

Annetek:  Big hugs and we are all hoping for you the very best news possible--B9!!!  I know exactly what you are going through.  I just got my official notice that I am B9 but have to go through it all over again in 3 months.  Just the thought of it puts my heart in my mouth but we have to hope for the best or we would all just go crazy from the fear!

MeJoy:  So nice to hear from you and we all need a happy dance sometimes!

Annette -- the sleeping through the tests sounds like a blessing to me!  I am sure it's just going to be fine but do let us know what happens.

Anyone buy a bra while still have TE's to wear after exchange? If so, did you get it to fit the TE's?

Congrats to everyone who has had their exchange and glad it seems to be going well.

Annette, this time tomorrow you will be basking in relief.  These tests are so stressful with our history.

Hey Laura, nice to hear from you!!!  Sorry you've been sick. Get that Vit B into your system.  My doc told me today I am really low on Vit D so I have a Rx for that.  Want to check with the onc to make sure it's ok for me.

Beacher, I had to wait for my Lat D surgery (flap from back) for 9 months post rads.  My PS is very conservative thus the long timeline for skin to heal as well as possible.

Wow Estepp!  That is very low.  My onc tested my Vitamin D sometime during the chemo and it was around 20-22... now it's up to 40 (with the 4,000 - 5,000 IUs a day -- it only varies because I take 4K a day directly and get another 800 IUs in my daily vitamin which I don't always take).

    thanks Lilah for the welcome!

will somebody tell me what the "drop and fluff" means?  I am on course to get silicone implants--does that happen with those?

Interesting discussion about the vitamin D--mine was low too, but only need to supplement with vitamins and extra calcium.

greytcruise:  I purchased a Warner's bra in the size I wanted to be, but at full expansion no bra worked.  At the end only a camisole worked.

annetek:  Hoping to hear good news from you today!

Vitamin D3:  I recently found out that Vit D works best with food, taken 2 or 3 x a day and it also works best when taken in combination with Vit K1.  I use the Designs for Health brand called Viman D Synergy and even though I take 8000 iu a day, I am still only in the 40's!

YEAH! Good news- all scans were clear-and I admitted to onc I am not taking AIs and I need her to monitor my hormone levels every 90 days- she has agreed-as long as I am willing to change my mind if levels rise, etc-fair deal to me..THAnk YOU ALL SO MUCH-

MBJ- I don't know how your D levels can be that low for you (although 40 is in acceptable range) while you are taking so muchperhaps it is not being absorbed or something

mine was at 18 (horrible) and i went on 50,000 twice a week and got pumped up to 113 (although I was angry when I realized it was D2 since it was a prescrption) so now I ramped it back to just 1000mg of D3 each day.

Annettek:  WAHOOOO!!!!  I knew you would be clear, just sayin', lol!  I have mine monitored every few months and this is how I found out I wasn't absorbing it because of how I was taking it which is why I made mention that it needs to be taken throughout the day and with food and I should also add, never with minerals.
