Thanks Jo, I am going to try a few things for the cardio to see if something different works.  Like I said at least it has not effected my yoga, I actually feel better after yoga.  All my Dr's seem to think my yoga is great and that PT would not benefit me all that much.  I'll wait and see, if I feel I need PT I'll get an order from my Dr.

Luan - I have something much better than Advil - I have Tylenol with Codeine to take.  That should reallly take the edge off.

Jo - I know you're feeling the anxiety now with the mammo! I had mine about 2 months ago, and had to go to the BS today for some pain and a lump I felt (everything was okay). When I left he said, I'll see you after the next mammogram. Then the hospital called a few minutes ago to schedule my mammogram - I instantly freaked! We straightened it out - don't need it until October - but I was pretty amazed at the sudden jolt of fear I felt when I had that thrown at me unexpectedly. Scanxiety is sooooo real! I hope you're feeling no pain tomorrow!

@jo1955...back in the day (when I had boobs) I would ask them to put the films on a lighted board so I could "read" them myself...(like I knew what I was doing)...long story short, my second cancer, did not show on teh mam, it was found by exam...so ladies, dont forget to examine yourself...hugs terri in MI

Terri - I remember those days when the doctor would put the film on the lighted board.  You are right, I had no idea what I was looking at but it gave me the chance to ask questions.  Mine was found on mammo and US - lump never felt by exam.

Thanks girls, I guess I was whinning way too soon.  DH found a really nice bike in the ditch a few weeks ago, probably fell off of an RV. The front tire was messed up but we got it fixed.  Took the bike out today and did my three miles with it instead of walking.  Did it in half the time of the walk and a much better cardio workout and my hip did not bother me. yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so I guess my new workout schedule will be yoga and biking.  I am sure I will be sore tomorrow, but that will be a good thing.

Jo I will be with you in the morning, hope they tell you something before you leave. Keep us posted.

Tink, congrats on one year. I guess 'june 2' will always have a special ring to it for you. May it become a day with a big number attached to it.

Jo, good luck with your mammogram. Deep breathing and if that doesnt work i think xanax was invented for women who were undergoing their first year post dx mammograms. No reason why it shouldnt be ok. You were examined inside out and upside down only a year ago and now you are taking tamoxifen. Remember that now they will be watching you extra closely (which is a good thing) so they may request more views, etc. Try not to lose lunch if they do, though i know how hard that is.

Alicia, baby steps. I think if you can get out of bed and just not be as sad, thats an accomplishment. Depression can be such a bear. You likely dont feel like being social. See if you can think of anything that excites you a little bit and then try to do it. If not then maybe tomorrow. No pressure. Until then know that your family and friends love you. We support you. It will all be ok, this is a result of the stress of BC, and it, too, shall pass.

    Wishing u all the best,

    Shari

I am such a techno-dimwit. Didnt see last page of posts. Doing this on my phone which doesnt help.

Sherry, any way you could swim? I have real problems with my hip (i am your age, too) and walking exacerbates it. I do it anyway but then i suffer. Swimming has saved me. No impact and it exercises the whole body. Never have hip pain after. Also relaxing.

Well I can't believe my hips did not hurt at all last night. woohoo.  Also I did not have a hot flash at all.  I woke up at 4am to go to the bathroom and could not believe it.  I have had multiple hotflashes that wake me up since starting tamox.  I hope this is a new beginning for both my hot flashes and my hip pain.  I felt so much better this morning since I was not awake 3 and 4 times during the night.  So I am sticking with the cycling since it did not bother my hips.  Don't know maybe I finally have enough Celebrex in my system as well.

Sherry - WOOHOO!  So glad you are feeling better and the hot flashes are leaving you alone at night.  That does help to be able to sleep.

Just got back from having my mammo.  The rad tech was super.  It didn't hurt at all.  She was so gentle.  I have to wait until Monday and call my onc to get the results.  I had to wait until the radiologist looked at the views and didn't need any additional squeezes so I am taking that as good news.  Not going to stress about this.  The dreaded waiting game - that is the part I hate.

Thanks ladies for being there with me - you can get out of my pockets now - Oh! Chabba and Tink you two can climb down from my shoulder.  LOL!

Hope everyone is having a Good Friday.

Jo: That's awesome.   I think you can bank on the "no additional squeezes" as good news.  My first mammo...the one that brough the BC dx, I had to wait for review after the first couple of shots, and then the tech came to do a whole series of new more compressed shots.  Then the took me over to the US department.  Of course no one would say a thing...Thinking back, I wonder how I did not freak out.  I guess ignorance was bliss.  Now that I'm in "the know"  it will be a whole different ball game.

Sherry its good to see that you had a sweat and pain free night.  I hope it keeps up!

Tonite I start my pill.  I was gonna do it this am but changed my mind.  I needed to be sharp for work this am so I thought it would be best.  This way if the SE happen Im at home.  I cant stand having belly aches when Im at work.  I dont know why Im freakn about this.  Its not like Im gonna start glowing a certian color or anything weird.  I did chemo for pity sake, and wasnt half this freaked out.  I've got all these crazy thoughts going on.  My mind can really take me places sometimes. Have a fun filled day all.  I'll let ya know if I start glowing tonite, lol.

Paula - Settle down now.  You are going to do great.  You have the weekend ahead to see if anything happens and you will be at home which is a plus.  I know what kinds of things the brain can do to you - it can be wicked sometimes.  Try to focus on something else.

Paula - isn't that odd how we freak out about this pill? I know to me it was like the biggest deal in the world when I started taking it! But I don't have any bothersome side effects, and hopefully you won't either. Stay positive! And happy belated birthday! Have you let Tommy go yet?

Jo - so glad the mammogram was easy, but the waiting - yuck. I agree, though, they must be happy with what they saw. Just waiting on good news now....waiting, waiting, waiting.  Do they have any idea what this part is like? Apparently not - not unless they ever become a patient!

Shari - good advice for Jo and Alicia - I need to keep all that in mind, too. That's what I love about reading these boards - so many great tips for getting through this!

Sherry - great news about the biking not hurting your hip! AND sleeping through the night with no hot flashes! Awesome!

Now that the mammo is behind me, the next hurdle to get over is my annual pap next Wed.  I am a list of questions started for him.  I have been on Tammy for 5 months now and I am somewhat concened about what it is doing, if anything to my uterine lining.  I am going to ask and see if my gyn will do a transvaginal US to get a baseline.  I do have a history of fibroids and it is raising some red flags in my head.

Dang!  I just lost my post!  I should know better, right?

I just wanted to say, that I don't think you can mix Celebrex with Tamoxifen!  There are a lot of web-sites that talk about mixing the two.  So just check it out yourself.....I know a lot of times our Docs will prescribe a great drug, but SOMEtimes when mixing Tamoxifen with them, isn't good!

I've been taking Glucosamine, either with Chondroitin, or just the Glucosamine, and it's really helped my aches and pains!   I quit taking all my Vitamins & supplements when I was down with Bronchitis & Asthma, because I was just sick of meds....But man, everything really started hurting, so I'm back  on the vitamins & etc!

chevy I go to drugs.com and check out the list there.  If a drug another dr gives me is on there I call my MO and have them check.  They use three databases for drug interections with Tamox.  My MO said it was safe to take with tamox.  Actually the first person to prescibe it for me was my RO for my breast swelling and he knew I was on Tamox.  Everytime I see my MO they check my list of drugs against there databases to make sure I am OK with my drugs and supplements.

How did the appointment go Jo???

Sherry, have you tried Tai Chi for exercize? Very good for arthritis and slow movements but it strengthens and supports too....It is 'too slow' for me (but I feel that way about yoga too) so it might be perfect for you. My sister loves it.

Sandee- You are not the odd one out.  When I started Tamox, I did do a 10mg dose for a week after having tummy problems with Arimidex & Femara.  Then I did a split dose for a couple of weeks.  I got so tired of cutting pills, I said to heck with it and took it in the morning with a glass of milk.  Now it is just another pill I add to the pile.

Thanks for being there with me but yes, it is time to hop out of my pocket.  Be careful you don't hurt yourself on the way out.  LOL
