how about drinking?

What about a bicycle Karen? I have no idea about traffic, but might be faster and cheaper. You can buy something used and resell prior to leaving. Could end up being 30 minutes each way.
New counter tops sound fab. As for the rest, paint is cheap, so a possible next step.
I am back to networking. I can't believe how much time I have cut off my training ride yesterday. Did in well under 3 hours vs 3.5 hours. Got home half an hour earlier than I planned. So know I can up the intensity of the ride.
So need to write those letters and search some more online. I am on a mission here. - Claire

Gail, My youngest DD was a ballet student for years, also. I think by knowing what they went through, we could have some empathy for some of what those dancers went thru, like the sore feet, having to "break-in" the toe shoes, etc. SO hard on their feet!!! But I doubt she will watch it (she is 33), as they never watch R rated movies. How did I go wrong? Neither of my girls, or their hubbys drink, smoke, or watch any R or X rated movies....LOL! I think the gore would be ok, but the sexual inuendos, etc were pretty intense! I was amazed at how riveting the movie was.
Kymn, yeah #5 coming up....like Karen said, after 5 comes 6. THEN you will be thru with chemo!!! Sorry about the weight gain too....I have had that happen w/out any chemo to blame!
Lori, Wow...smelling the smoke from your house! Glad you aren't in harms way. Sorry about the slow connections, but glad you are still enjoying playing in the dirt. TOO HOT now here, but I still am painting some outside every day....such sweltering heat.
Just bought MY kayak...a pretty one! Lighter than DH's and I will be able to carry it by myself. Just came home so DH can take a quick nap, then off in the truck to pick it up. Then he has r'ball, so won't get to try it out tonight.
. Maybe I should stick them on the bus, and we can take them to Junie's as she has a BIG lake by her. NM, you could bring yours too! I am sure they hold plenty of beer!!!!Karen, too bad about your friends that are staying with friends free in Denver, did not offer up their homes free for you. But nice that one of them did, even though it is further away. Claire had a good idea about a bike, but just make sure first that it is safe to ride one there! Don't want you to have any mishaps while you are there.
Oops......gotta wake up hubby and go and get MY kayak!!!! Now we are a 2 yak family...LOL. Oh and will be at Junie's house soon also.....ready and willing to partay!!! Now DorK, no work excuses, we DO need you at the party....wouldn't be a party without you there. Glad you have the surgery date and will be able to get it done (and over with) this year!!!
Lamphade Party Anyone????

Bus will be here soon--it had to double back to pick up DorK!!

deck is ready for company!

waiting for Jocks to set up the bar....note, though, that I got a ML working while we're getting ready.....(the masks on the wall are from various trips to Mexico....)

Have a variety of "shades" saved from previous parties if anyone forgets their's! Can't wait to see you guys. Not sure how wild and crazy I'll get tonight--may not last too long. Dau and g/dau's wearing me out--J/K--it is so wonderful to have them here "babysitting"! They're doing a great job!
.......there is a bus coming slooooowly down the street.............it's pulling into the driveway.....
.....it's PAAAARRRTTY TIIIIIIME !!!!!!!!!!!!

WooHoo!!!!! Got here just in time for Happy Hour!!! Junie, your deck is GAWGEOUS!!! Thanks for spiffing it up for us....but does that mean we have to be neat and clean???LOL. Or can we be wild and reckless? How sweet of you to save the 'shades for us! I think we need to hang one up for the gals that haven't checked in here for awhile....so they can still be with us in spirit (or spirits? Jack Daniels, Seagrams, Patron, etc). Miss all you galz....you know who you are! Guess that means those of us that made it to Junie's house will have to partay double time to make up for everyone else! Now Junie, you sit back and don't overdo....don't want you petering out tooooo early. Glad you are enjoying your DD and g'daus....but can understand feeling worn out! Hope they will help you out some, too.
I am RED-EYE to PARTAY!!!!!!!
DILLIGAF????
Risque Wisque
P.S. I've had 5 or 6 transactions with "Dicks" the past couple of days....OKAY...getcher minds .outtah the guttah.... but I think "Dick's Sporting Goods" got toooo much of our money lately!! LOVE the kayak I picked out.....in sky blue fading to white, and sorta splotchy....got a bright pink life vest which matches my water shoes! DH is playing racquetball, so can't try it out tonight....so might as well get dwunk! Beans, hope you are joining us!!!

Good Monday afternoon, Loungettes! My first duty weekend is behind me, and I'm almost recovered. Got called out at 3 am Sun am and just before 5 am this morning. Not bad, no crises, no problems. Discovered a few things I still need to find out, but they aren't big things that are big deals, just little details. Had some really good visits with some families and got to help out in a couple of situations. THIS is what I got into nursing for!

AStorm-I haven't had a margarita in a long time, must remember to order one next time I in an establishment providing adult beverages. I'm not crazy about Mexican food, but I do like margaritas!

DorK-When I split my screen, I use the mouse to drag the edge of the BCO screen toward the left, until just the posting shows (I have to slide to the frame over some). Then I open word and use the mouse to drag the left hand edge toward the right until it fills what is left of the screen. I can't see the entire width of the page I am typing responses on, which can be annoying at time, but I can see the entire post I am responding to, and that is helpful. On the upside, the "new" laptop decided to start working properly again. When I get the go-buggy paid off I am going to take some money and get a new computer with LOTS of memory and put an end (for a while) to the computer frustrations! And it looks to me like you write just fine! I understand what you are saying, and you describe things beautifully! Fancy words aren't the end-all and be-all of good writing, after all.

Wahine-how far ahead of me are you in the dwinky-poo department? Am I gonna have to work hard to catch up??? Have you ever tried Tea Tree Oil for fly repellent? You mix some Tea Tree Oil in water in a spray bottle and spray yourself, your pets and animals. Works great, and doesn't smell all that bad!

Junie-sorry about the computer issue, that is so irritating! If you don't like chopping and cutting you can very often buy veggies and meats already cut/diced/chopped etc. The per pound cost is a little more than unprepared versions, but they are great time savers and anything that helps us eat better is a good thing! I found in my local grocery store (shop-n-Save) in the make your own pizza section little packages of diced sausage, bacon, onion, and other goodies that are just right for me as a single person. One little package lasts me through several omelets, salads and other recipes that call for just a little of such things. Very handy!

DorK-I'm sure you'll make the right decision about timing of your future recon plans. I took a year off between my last surgery (mastectomy) and the recon. I had already lost 2 summers, knew I lose another one to recovery, and needed one to work and play like a normal human being, just to remember what it's like. I'm really glad I waited, too, for a list of reasons. Just remember that you can wait a while if you want, this can be done at any time. If you are feeling good right now, maybe you want to hang out in this spot for a while. But do ask God and your Dr. John, and listen to their counsel.

Husker-Glad you are recovering from your bus trip. Sounds like some things could have gone better, but what school trip ever goes as well as it could? Glad the swelling is gone, and I hear you about the fear of a blood clot. Have a nice sleep, and I'll have Pants put a fence up around your hammock so you'l;l be safe.Or maybe a guard dog would be a better idea?

Chrissy-did you save me a piece of the cake????

Donut delivery service???? Sign me up! Better include central Maine in the delivery area!!!!

AStorm-that looks like an award winner of an idea for use of duct tape!

Claire-what a day you describe! We're finally getting some like that here, finally! Still looking for the first farmer's markets to open up.

Karen-I'm sorry you're in a funk. Talk to your doc, ambien can make you wake up tired, cranky, whatever, and can contribute to depression as well. Actually, all the sleeping pills can do that, some to a great degree than others. Taking the same sleeping pill for a period of time can make the "morning after" symptoms gradually get worse. Many times patients are rotated through 2 or 3 different sleeping pills to avoid that side effect. Do you need to take ambien every night? If so, that's another good reason to talk to your doc about switching off to something different. After a while a sleeping med can stop working as well, but still give the "morning after" symptoms.
Wahine-I seem to remember when I was growing up that we never went swimming or anywhere fun until AFTER the housework was done, and if we didn't help with the housework we either didn't go or sat in the car once we got there. Is there any reason why that can't apply to hubbies as well as children? And don't you remember being taught to share??????? That includes HUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DorK-here's a T-shirt for you:

Karen-I HAVE pink duct tape!

Husker-here's a towel for tears, and I've got a whole supply ready for anyone who needs. Crying is a good thing, tears actually contain stress hormones as well as water and salt. Sorry I missed Cancer Survivor Day, but I'll have a drink in our honor this evening, well probably more than just one drink. You feel beat up because cancer treatment beats up our bodies, ALL of the treatments do. So it's only normal to feel that way, not that it makes it any easier to live with. I think it hits harder after the last treatment because the mind and body are in different places, like Claire said.

Chrissy-glad the CT is showing infection, not that infection is good, but it's a lot easier to treat than the beast. Here's hoping you get a good report tomorrow!

Goldie-sorry you're stuck with the smoke, glad the fire is going the other way. A few summers ago there was a big fire in Canada and the smoke was a big problem here in central Maine for almost a week. Normally I love the smell of smoke, especially leaves burning the fall and wood and grills in the summer, but that smoke smelled terrible, more like the acrid, nasty smoke smell when a house or car is burning. Hard on the eyes and lungs.

Kymn-it doesn't take long working in the garden to get you tired out. Some days I only get a couple of hours in before I have to give it up for the day. Usually I try to do a few minutes then take a break and get out of the sun, then go back for a while. Sometimes I just forget and keep going, though!

Karen-congrats on the new countertops! And for the plans coming together. Good idea to walk part way and bus part way, better travel time plus exercise!

Wahine-what kind of kayak did you get? What color? I'll certainly bring mine along and I'm willing to share, too. I saw a little kayak, might have been an older Otter, on the side of the road with a For Sale sign on it, took and lot of self control not to stop and look at it. What would I do with 2 kayaks??? Isn't it nice to be able to carry your own boat around? Dick's is a great place, isn't it?

Junie-that is a WONDERFUL deck!

Let's see, what would be a good DOTD for today? How about a Cancer Survivor to celebrate (a little late) yesterday's special day.
1/4 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
1/2 oz Chocolate Liqueur
1/4 oz Irish Cream
1 oz Half and HalfDirections
Mix all ingredients in tin with crushed ice. Shake, strain, and serve.

The counters are gorgeous....now need to put the drawers back and the pots/pans that go on the top shelves....the hall bathroom looks unbelievable...at first when I saw the granite on the counter I wasn't sure, but each time I walk by, I am more and more thrilled....we were thinking the cabinets need to be painted in the bathroom....but no way....the granite makes them look so good...just going to put new hardware....I am a happy camper with my new counters...it sure is worth the expense.....I love all the cabinets I have in the kitchen and we painted them a few years ago , so nothing needs to be done there.....
REally annoyed with DS....he blew this last semester grade wise.....if we didn't push to find out, he wouldn't tell us.....this past year as a whole was a waste....a very bright kid who isn't putting out what he is capable of.......I know he is frustrated...but when we talk to him he gets annoyed....not sure I want to keep paying for college, but if we don't he can't afford it....he's frustrated as he hasn't gotten a job yet and no interviews....I'm frustrated as he didn't do anything about a job till he had been home a good 10 days....and now he goes, its not my fault there is 9% unemployment in Colorado.....he'll be hurting for money soon......this is the first time he hasn't had a job since he was 16 (he's 22)...he doesn't like when I'm annoyed or disappointed in him...he posted on fb that there is nothing like the wrath (or is it fury) of a mother!!! I wrote back I know and he then commented it wasn't a compliment....might not be a compliment, but its the truth!!!! DH is in a pissy mood and so am I...not a good mix....We've been married for 33+ years, but sometimes I wonder if we are still headed in the same direction....i love him dearly, but sometimes I don't like him....I'm sure he feels the same way about me....I'm sure we will continue to grow old together...too much invested after all these years.....
Kymn....how are you doing sweetie?
Husker...will be thinking of you on Thursday
Chrissy....isn't is weird how these days we are thankful for something being an infections......would be great if on your trip to the states that you could pass through CO, but I understand time and money constraints
NM....always love your pics.....I keep wondering about the meds....last night i took Ativan....I think I've just never found the right combination with antidepressants, anti-anxiety etc.....without ativan or ambien, I'm up every hour or so.....since the day they told me I had BC, insomnia has been my partner....would love to give it all up..but I actually think that I need to do something about the depression...trouble is, I don't want to go back to my psychiatrist....I cancelled my last appt due to work schedule in January and have never made another appt and she has never called me either...she is well respected but I am ticked off at her.....Its just that before BC, I never took any meds and now I'm a psychiatric mess.....some days are better than others though.....
Wahine...I've never kayaked...would probably drown....
Goldie....how are the fires? contained any amount? its hazy in Denver...
Stanzie, Junie, Dork, Beans, and everyone else....,lets partay!!!! I;ve already had 2 or 2 glasses or cabernet....some nice Israeli wine....the bottle is begging me to finish it up.....but best go for a walk first....then work to be done in my kitchen....but heck I can drink and workm, can't I?
Off I go for a walk....probably will check in later tonight......cheers!!!! Love ya to all the loungettes

Sure is quiet here at the HTL, with us all at Junie's! Junie, your neighbors won't call the cops on us again this time, will they? J/K, this is such fun!
NM, Glad the weekend work went well, and you can finally feel like you are helping people with your nursing skills. Two kayaks? Why not? Esp since it may be lots lighter than the one you have. Didn't find many Old Town kayaks here...just a couple. I will try to take a pic of mine (which now has the place of honor on the DR floor)! Now to make room in the garage to stand them up! Nice drink, that sounds really yummy!!!
Well, I'm going to put my lampshade back on an join the partay.....
Oops...didn't refresh the page and totally missed your post, Karen! Sooooo glad the new counters look totally awesome!!! Very happy for you, and I know you will just enjoy them more and more every day. I wish melatonin would work for you....or something you can take would work. Very hard w/out enuf sleep! My neighbors son is going thru the same college thing....smart kid but having probs this past year w/ grades. They said he can either go here an live at home, OR earn at least $5k towards tuition this year. Luckily he has professional equip for pressure washing as well as yard care, so he has been finding his own jobs and makes pretty good money! Hoping he will want to feed our dogs for $, so we can go off again. Wish your DS could find a job, or create one! Nighty night!!!

I am watching the sunset over the Puget Sound. Just gorgeous.
Plus, having some wine.
I need to start dinner in a few. Just submitted another online application for a position I would be interested in. Really on the case.
Need to cook dinner now.
BTW - half way through the oven cleaning fiasco. I didn't want to set off all the smoke detectors in the building. So I went to buy oven cleaner. Forgot it was grill cleaning season. So I used regular kitchen cleaner and scrubbed. Made a major dent, and think I can now finish with a cleaning cycle. Another one solved. YAY!!!!
Easier than the fridge though.
MORE BTW......can't believe Wiener. Worst offense is stupidity. How could he not think that he wouldn't be caught. Then he lied about it. What a jerk. Feel sorry for the college student in Bellingham WA. She didn't deserve the publicity. His body isn't any great shakes either.
He loses my vote on basic STUPIDITY. Forget morals.
A message for anyone who thinks they have chemo brain. REMEMBER THE WIENER!!!!

Karen-So glad you like the new countertops! Sounds like the home front is looking good at your place. I can understand your annoyance with your DS. Not sure what to say to help, though. Are you and DH in pissy moods for the same reason? I'm thinking it would be kind of funny if it turned out you were both reacting to the same thing! I had depression since before bc, and it caused me trouble, too. I sent you a pm to spare the loungettes the long boring details. And yes, you CAN work and drink, in fact that makes work go better!

Wahine-good point, with 2 kayaks I can take a friend with me more often! Can't wait to see the pic. If your garage has rafters or something similar, put in a big hooks and pe and hang the kayaks from the carry handles. The carry handles are just rope and easily replaced if they get frayed (and they will, anyway) and kayaks like being hung better than standing on end. Old Town canoes and kayaks are pretty much a Maine/New England item. There's just the one factory and it's not that big as factories go. Glad you got yours and I know you will LOVE it!

Claire-I was reading somewhere that when you are job hunting it's important to get your name in front of people in more than one way. The recommendation was to call the manager of the department "in case there are any questions about my resume/application" and use the opportunity to introduce yourself and stike up a short conversation that sells your strengths. Another way is to send a snail mail card (not a letter) using the same approach, or do this through e-mail, making sure the subject line is short, clear and has your name in it. Congrats on the progress in the oven cleaning project!

Enjoying a lovely, leisurely morning here, listening to the birds, planning some garden work this afternoon. The robin that made a nest in the garage laid 3 eggs, and seems to be pretty comfortable with my coming and going, she doesn't always leave the nest when I drive in and out. I'll be joining everyone at Junie's later today, please have lots of dwinkies weady!

DOTD: June Bug

3/4 oz Peach Schnapps
3/4 oz Creme de Bananes

Oh Junie, what a beautiful deck. You are the hostess with the mostess. And such a sweetie to save all the lamp shades! So glad you are having a wonderful time with your daughter and grand. How old is your grand daughter?
Kathy, I love your idea of hanging a lamp shade for each of girls that haven't been around, they sure are missed. You going to post a pic of your kayak?
NM, finally! I can hear you and see you...how much happier you are in your new position. So funny how several the fur baby pictures have Beanglish in them! Love the June Bug!
Karen, great news on the counter tops, not so great about DH and DS. DS is still young, he will appreciate everything you have done for him when grows older and more mature. Can you give him chores to do, sort of a way of earning his keep? The fires are still 0% contained and over 230,000 acres burned, the wind has been awful. I took this picture last night. Smoke can be seen as far away as Iowa! I have a video I took Saturday afternoon, but haven't had time to get it online.

The big white plume is smoke too, not a cloud.

Thanks NM. Really trying to get a contact from within. Since Amazon's tagline is to move shopping online, I suspect snail mail is less important there. Really, really depends.
I am going to let my former business partner work the research firm I sent an application to yesterday. But might be a good idea with the other research firm.
I need to do a hike over to South Lake Union to check out the new digs. Haven't done that one yet. Hoping I can meet with the guy from church.
Amazon is staffing their new HQ, so suspect the HR folks are involved in this. I have one more contact I want to work. I can now tell her what I really am looking for. Really important for someone to help you. She is off at her father's memorial service, but should be back in a few days.
I will also ask the board of the cycling club. I am on a mission as the only sensible course of action.
Back to networking....... - Claire
Goldie.....so scary, but I can see why everything burns. Just so dry.

NM, Your pics and cartoons are always sooooo neat!!! Cute about the "Mayfly" for Junie! Hint, hint.....you know why she is called that, right??? Me tinks a birt-day partay will be coming up in a week or two..... Good idea on hanging the kayaks, but no rafters in my garage (has attic above)....just 12' ceilings (I think). Have ceiling hoists to put up for our bikes, which hasn't gotten done yet! Is is bad to store them on end? I have a place I can remove a standing cabinet, and I think they both would fit there standing up. Otherwise, with my work area, the pingpong table, dog crates, pantry for DH, refrig/freezer, etc., there is NO room!!! Can only fit 1 car in the 2-car garage, if that gives you an idea. My last garage was 2-car but very oversized and had a separate large area for workshop....I miss that! Would be nice for you to have 2 yaks, so you can yakkity-yak with a friend on the lake....LOL. OR DRINK!!!! Another LOL.
Lori, OMG that is massive!!! I heard of another area having bad fires, and in AL, there is now maybe 600-700 acres or so, which I thought was a big area. BUT such a humongous area in AZ on fire....and all that smoke you can see. So sad. I also think of all the wildlife affected. In AL, a lot of the fires have been fueled by all the tornado debris and damage...so many trees down, etc. This is a horrid weather year for the US, thats for sure!!!
Up most of the night, cause found out about some crap, so lots of phone calls today. But will take my mom shopping out of town today, then hope to try out my yak tonight. Yakity yak......
Hugs to all,
kathy

Goldie.....such a shame with the wild fires.....if its bad this early in the season, its really scary for what the rest of the summer will be like....Regarding DS.....if we ask (nag) he will do chores.....I know he's frustrated about the job situation......somethings its not worth the hassle (oh my, that is something my mother says!!!)...we aren't giving him any money, but do pay his car insurance, car repairs and essentials in clothing...he's responsible for his phone, gas, spending money....He really is a great kid, but....
Claire...good luck with the job hunt.....
NM...I got your message...thanks...I responded back to you....
Junie...I coming to the party....need to pick out what lampshade I want to wear....Your deck is so pretty......
Plumber just left....faucets are done in the kitchen and bathroom....Now just need to finish putting a few things back under the cooktop cabinet and kitchen is all set......
Meeting a gf at Einstein bagels in 1/2 hour....its been forever since we've gotten together...work has just gotten in the way....I'm sure it will be a couple hours of chatting and catching up....
Tonight starts Shavuot...hope to get back here before candle lighting.....then won't be on tomorrow or Thursday...Shavuot is when we received the Torah at Mt. Sinai. Hugs, Karen

Kathy....our posts crossed in the mail!!!! Hope nothing to serious with "all the crap"...keep us posted...have fun shopping with your mom...Karen

Good Morning ladies, well its raining here again,I cant believe how much rain we have had this spring I feel like a duck. Went for blood work this am, they had to use the vien in my hand cause my other ones are getting hard and cranky lol. Nice. Hopefully they hold out for the last two treatments. How tired to rads make you? Is it like chemo tired? Trying to get all caught up and a bit ahead here at work so I dont come back to a nightmare. Hope you are all having a great day
Hugs Kymn
0 -
Karen, Hope you have a great time with your friend!
Kymn, So sorry about your veins...sure hope rads will be much easier on you.
Here are our new kayaks...mine is the blue one w/ pink life vest on the seat.....Mine is just 9.5' long, and DH's is 10.6" long. ALSO, half of this floor is what was replaced not too long ago; they did a good job integrating the old and new planks.

Oh My Lori, that smoke is very scary! I knew it was bad but pictures do tell a different story.... I haven't been keeping up with anything and don't even know what part of Arizona it is in, I'm gathering the south but? Hope you all continue to be alright, but what a horrendous loss of vegetation, animals and property. Such awful awful weather...
Karen- hope you can get your meds worked out. Gosh I'd like the sound of free better too. What is the weather like when you go? Will it be too hot to walk/bicycle? It is so hot here I just can't imagine doing either right now.
Kathy- fabulous Kayaks!! You all will so enjoy them! Wish I had a place to use one.... loved playing in the ocean with them
Claire- I cannot imagine you not being scooped up and hired on the spot! Hope you get something wonderful and somewhere you are appreciated for all your skills and talents and have fun people!
Kymn- Well at least you don't look like a Duck and you sound pretty good considering everything!!!
Beanie? AStorm? Husker? Chrissy.... ummm who else? Well NM of course love all the cartoons!!Talk to you all later!!! Busy week!
0 -
Kathy that looks like so much fun, I think I will add that to my bucket list
0 -
Kymn and Stanzie, Just come on down here, and you can use them too....BUT I would definately wait for cooler weather!!! Just got home and having Seagrams/Diet Coke and relaxing for a bit, then off to the lake to try out my kayak.....hoping not to sink!! LOL. Anyone else having a dwink???
Bottoms UP!
Kathy

A dwink? Am I weally wimited to shush 1 dwinky? I'm alweady WAY over limit! (hic)

LOL...of course NOT NM....we just "start" with one!!! Have as many as you want! Well, I changed clothes....guess this will be a learning thing. Thought I could get in by myself, but NOOOOO....I tipped it over and got drenched, but in the shallow water of the boat ramp. Sure filled with water fast though! Made me a bit scared of "mine", and realized DH liked mine being so light, so I may take over his longer, more stable kayak. Good thing I didn't buy the pink one!!! THEN we saw some snakes today....2 "dens"(?) of them, in rocks, on other side of the bridge, at the spillwater. Only about 20-25 ft from where we get in at. Looks like water moccasins...and thats what others there thought...water mocs or copperheads. Yikes! Just babies, but I know they will get big fast, and there are prob lots of others. Think we should put some golf balls nearby???? Mean, I know, but I do NOT like snakes, and am quite afraid of them. Any tips, NM? I did watch some youtube videos of kayak instructions.....but am open to any hints you have!!!!
OK....lotsa dwinks set up on Junie's bar on the deck.....partay starting AGAIN tonight!!! Wheeee!!
Gotta keep my bottom OUTTA the water!!! So, bottoms UP....

Hi Loungettes, I have been away more than I like and just wanted to pop in to say hi...when God closes a door he always opens a window. We are realizing the cabin this year is proly not a reality as our friend who was going to help us build is the one who just got chupa dx and my DH hurt his arm. But to take pressure off we looked real hard for a nice RV and found one that was delivered Sunday. We have been so busy getting it ready and moving in...I'm not sure how long the pics will be up or if anyone's interested, but here is a link to photos. It's a 36 foot with 3 slides, really pretty nice. So we have this and the shop...
https://picasaweb.google.com/soccerd747/MobileSuitesPicassa?authkey=Gv1sRgCLXAyPeNi5_C6QE#
So I'm hoping everyone is doing okay and that you are all having a fabulous happy hour! I hope to be back on more regular (exlax style) soon!!!
Love & hugs,
Beanie

Looks wonderful Beans and certainly will get you over the hump. Plus, you will have it while building your cabin.
Was hoping you would do a yurt though. - Claire

Oh poo, couldn't get the link to work. Sounds good Beanie! Still when you do get the cabin built it will be wonderful!
Clarie- a yurt?? Oh goodness have you stayed in one? My friend's daughter is in the Peace Corps in Mongolia and she is living in a yurt! yikes!
kathy look forward to meeting you on the lake one day... we can race Clarie and NM! Pssss! we'll leave some lovely red wine in their Kayaks and well... put it this way Victory is ours!

Quick check in...the drink of the day sounds delicious! Wish I had all the ingredients on hand. May save that for later this summer...
After a horrid Sunday with pains and depression, Monday was a little better. I would say "partly cloudy." I was supposed to go in to school to finish up the days missed from the music trip, but couldn't do it. Slept in, took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and then went to bed at 10:30. Fatigue is officially a word in my vocabulary. Woke up today feeling much better, emotions and pain wise, although the neuropathy still an annoyance. Am thinking another week or two and it will be back to a tolerable level again. I did go to school for most of the day and will go again tomorrow for awhile. Hope to be totally done by Thursday.
Am picking up DD2 from the airport on Wed. She has been in Europe for 18 days and I am anxious to see her. Unlike DD1, who is content to talk every week or so, DD2 and I usually talk on the phone at least daily. Brief emails every few days are just not the same. But will have a nice drive home (airport is 2.5 hours away) to tell me all the fun stuff she did. Unless she falls asleep from jet lag!
Am hoping to get a walk in tonight, but at 9pm it is still 88 degrees. (I know, Claire, I should have stayed longer in Seattle!) Last night the mosquitos were so bad, not sure I want to douse myself in bug spray; will mean I'll have to take a shower when i get home. SIGH. Why does even a simple walk have to be so complicated?
The kayaks look great; my husband and I overturned one in Hawaii with our DS (age 7 at the time) between us. DD's were in another kayak, asking each other, "Was that mom and dad that just tipped over?" It was supposed to be a family tour...found out later that one was in the bay. Everyone was so impressed we took our family kayaking (w/no experience) out on the open waters! We were idiots, is what we were, but it made a great Christmas letter story later. Since none of drowned (not for lack of trying)!

Husker, I know your DD will have LOTS to talk about....what a nice, long trip! I wonder if you did your kayaking near where my parents live in HI? There are places that rent them by the beach near them, and you can paddle over to some islands. I never thought of doing it!!! SO stupid of me. Glad you all didn't drown!
Stanzie.....Hmmmmm.....red wine in their yaks....you devil, you! J/K. Did you try to copy and paste Beans' link? Hope you can get it to work, it is beautiful..
Beans, WOW....never knew they looked THAT nice inside! And I love that shower...one of my initials on it too; and a KING size bed....wowsa!!!! You really found a nice one...is it hard to connect it over the truck? Lots of room, and such nice features! Whenever you get around to building the cabin, then you could use the RV as a party bus, and drive around and visit all of us, across the country (and Canada)! Sounds like a winner, to me.
Junie, are you still passed out???? OR still hiding behind the bar with Jocks????? Karen, will be glad to hear how it all went.
Party Hearty Chicas!!!!

Me dwink tonight cuz me work long hours...today and yesterday, I had people call me Murphy - I was the Murphy's law poster child, everything at the workplace went wrong. '
I did take the time to see beanie's new mansion. OMG, so beautiful. I cAMped as a kid and thought we had it good but geez, way better than a cabin since you can move this bad boy.
I laughed at all of you, RW and her canoe, NM's funnies always the best. Karen, I have suggestion or sleep remedy with depression, ask me to tell you more. sorry for you.
Lori, it hurts to see these fires so out of control. I saw coverage on gma this morning, so sad.

Stanzie....not to worry about yurts. They make quite posh ones here in the NW. Much better than that TENT I slept in over last Labor Day.
DorK.....need I tell you to send Murphy over to one of your co-workers. Time to share the wealth here.
Still light here, and off to bed soon.
MAJOR MILESTONE......finally have a clean oven. My plan worked and I didn't set off the fire alarm once. It shines now.
Husker.....will rub it in as just hit 60 today. So perfect oven-cleaning weather. Plus great wine here.
Snagged a major networking contact. More to come. Will get there. Excited because finally brings all my skills and talents together.
BottomZ up ladies. So much to celebrate. - Claire
