    Karen, time sure does fly huh? I thought of you when hearing about the Annual Pillsbury Cook-off. I enrolled you, I hope you do not mind.

    Junie, a birthday, fur ewe? OMG, what a party we will have. I have been at the mall for five hours looking for the poy-fect toga. I so hate shopping.

    Claire,  kudos to you for being on top of your game. You shall prevail. FYI, I ate a 100% veggie dinner tonight. My intestines will suely thank me in the morning, my first ever!

    I am dwunk and prolly going to nappy poo on the hammock and wake up for final game of NHL Hockey. I am going to stay up so that I can celebrate the win w/ Kymn.  Funny thang, I was watching Regis this morning and when he mentioned Boston, only a few fan appauded, he then metioned Vancouver and the audidance exploded. Regis made a joke about having many Canadians in the audience. I smiled big time for Kymn.  New York and the USA is rooting for yer team!! GO CANNUCKS, bring it to Canada for Kymn. She needs and deserves it.

    Speaking of Regis, I have bragging rights in that Kelly Rippa is a native from my county. When I worked for CIGNA years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting her father who is a strong political figure here.  I love Kelly although I wish she would eat more.  I celebrated my Ten Year anniversary with my current employer this past Saturday - the same day that Timothy McVeigh was executed. I told myself that although it was a tough day for me in starting a new job, at least I am not getting the Kavorkian Needle hahahah.

    Ok, to nap or not to nap, that is the question.  Hmmm, another dwink sounds good though....

    ~~~Brought to ewe buy thoughts to ponder by DorK....what to do?
    CheerZ my ladies. Is Pau Hana over yet????
    Risque, hope mom and dad had/have a safe flight home. That is SUCH a LONG trip for them. And yes, seems like they just got here last week.
    Junie, time for another party!
    Claire, we like camping at Embassy Suites!
    Karen, the kids all had bathing suits on or something else, wasn't just leaves. They had a fun time. I can't find any other good pictures as they have other people in them, so I don't want to post those.
    DorK, too late to be napping..............jus have anuther drink! I'll have some with you!
    Junie--baklava I know and love, but what is moussaka? Sounds yummy, makes me thing of chocolate mousse.
    Karen--getting rid of old work stuff is therapeutic and freeing, isn't it? It seems like sunscreen could be made without funky smells, doesn't it? I like coconut but I do not like smelling like one!
    Astorm--love the male Toga models! Nicey, nicey!
    Wahine--I can just picture Aflac coming up to the door for a feeding!
    DorK--mental health days are good things to take from time to time! Hope the pool doc has a quick cure for the case of algae so you can get your pool back soon. I can imagine your fur babies are upset. I truly believe animal grieve just like we do. When Alex was hit and killed Snookie wandered around the house looking for him for days. Personally, my idea of heaven has everything that ever brought pleasure or happiness to a pet or person. So heaven must have a HUGE doggy pool for the pooches.
    Goldie--worries about mudslides on top of worries about the wildfire is just not fair! Love the leaf costumes, but not something I'd dare to wear!
    Beanie--nice laurel wreath!
    Karen--I'm sure you will find the perfect marker for fur babies graves.
    Junie--happy B-day early! You have to keep the partay going through Monday so I can get in on at least a little bit of it! Nobody should question your ability to drive. Many people on long term oxy or morphine or dilaudid or methadone therapy are able to drive and work without any problem. The sleepiness, sedating side effects of narcotics wears off after a few days to a week. I've known patients on pretty hefty doses of these meds who never showed a sign of being on them. When they needed a dose increase they stopped driving for a few days or a week until the sedating effects wore off and then picked up where they left off. One patient would actually start a new dose on Friday evenings so he had the weekend to adjust and was able to go back to work the following Monday. Just don't bring up your medications unless specifically asked, and if your doc hasn't restricted you from driving I don't think they can do anything.
    Claire--You're uncle sounds like quite the character! Glad you enjoyed the wine tasting. Multi-tasking again? PROGRESS! Yeah for you!
    Love your avatar, Beans! And Aflac with "duck" tape, NM...so cute I sent that pic to my parents. Told them they need to come back here and rescue him! LOL.
    DorK, I didn't get the memo in time...would have loved to have been lazy today. Thought I would go back to bed after taking them to the airport, but nooooooooooo.....stupid me started working and didn't stop till it got dark! Now I am really, really, tired....we finally are having some rain and thunderstorms right now (been dry for wks).....so thinking of calling it a night and getting in bed early.
    Lori, Your daughter is gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing that pic. I still need to post the stuff I saw yesterday. But, that will have to wait till my brain gets some rest and I might be able to think coherently again!
    Love everyone's posts.....too tired to remember all that I wanted to comment on. Forgive me? Gotta get some rest before our big partay.
    Sheets!
    Kathy - it has been a sleepless week for me... WD has not been sleeping very well and I had to get up early to go to San Francisco with DD1 yesterday. So at 5AM this morning when DH wanted to be amorous I had a few choice words too. Why would anyone wake a tired person and expect her to be affectionate?  LOL - that's the perfect name for the duck!
    Dorthy - my pets always look for the missing one for awhile. It just breaks your heart. Sounds like they are not adapting to the loss very well.
    Lori - stay out of that smoke! Sweet picture. Your daughter is very pretty and SIL isn't hard to look at either.
    Junie - maybe you could hide the oxy in your toga when you go to get your license renewed? Then you could head straight for HTL for your party!
    NM -  wow! I'd wear that for sure.... if I looked like that!
    Just got back from book club meeting. We discussed The Lacuna. Love, love, love Barbara Kingsolver! I've been putting in some crazy hours so it was nice to relax for a few and chat with these interesting ladies. Now I need some wine.
    DorK....of course I don't mind you signing me up.....do tell, what should I make?
    A friend of mine is having brain surgery on the 30th...I'll be out of town and DH will also be out of town that week-end.....other friends have set her up with meals...I signed up for the 10th of July...will still be out of town, so going to cook this week-end and put it in the freezer...not sure what to make....chicken schnitzl or baked manicotti.....her husband is taking a week off work to be with her, then her grown daughters will take turns coming in to help out...
    Just heard on the news that shoppers will be allowed to get in line 2 days before the new IKEA store opens up in Denver next month....now tell me....why would you camp out for 2 days to shop in a store that will be crazy busy...will they be giving things away?  I've been in IKEA a couple times with DD in Toronto and they have good prices...but really camping out!!!! Not me!!!
    Was going to take DD to a small water park tomorrow as it is going to be in the 90's...a friend said yes, then today the girls decided they really didn't want to go as the friend is not a real water person....So we are going to go see Judy Moody movie tomorrow afternoon...
    Junie....birthday girl....any special plans?  We need to make it a b'day week-end into Monday so NM can also celebrate....so lets make sure we have lots to drink so we don't run out...speaking of that...its time for a glass or red wine....
    Kymn...sorry that your Canuks lost Lord Stanley....heard on the news that there were riots as soon as the game was over...that is just crazy.....
    Gail....the other night I turned over to cuddle my husband...put my arms around him, he decided that it was time to play around...NOT...whats with this with guys....
    Kathy...how long were your parents with you...since May right?  Remind me where they live?  Alaska?
    Beans...love your post...and I can actually read it!!!!
    Goldie...it was nice to hear on the news that the fires are 20% contained...its amazing how much long term damage comes from these fires....so scarey
    Claire....are you wanting to give up the consulting/self-employment?
    DS had a job interview this afternoon for a meat market that just opened up a new location and this location will also have a cafe...he said the interview went well and the guy said to call him friday to see if 2nd interview...guy told DS that he had interviewed 16 other people today...and also had ad in craigslist....interview seemed to lift DS spirits a bit...he is bored with no job....sure hope this comes to fruition...he's apply for anything and everything.....
    Where's Husker this week?  who else is missing?
    Sweet dreams loungettes.....
    just a quick pop in--thanks Claire and NM on the oxy comments.   I'll be much less stressed tomorrow after reading your posts!
    We had a terrific storm blow through last night that kep me up til all hours with the rain/thunder/wind, so my butt be draggin' just now.   The wind blew the cover off the grill on the back deck and this morning, DH found it in the front yard under a tree.   I don't think Mother Nature knows when to take a breather!
    You bet we're gonna PAR-TAY for my BD and it can continue as long as we need.   We'll just plan right now to celebrate from late Sat nite til the wee hours of Tues morning!!!!   LOL!
    Hi girls!   I'm finally home and absolutely whacked!!!!  It's only 4.30pm and I'm ready and willing to crawl under the covers and start counting sheep....although I doubt very much that I'd get very far before snoring.....lol.  My face is really sore!!! the ear feels tender but not bad at all it's where the doc took the skin, (from the edge of the cheek near the ear), for the graft that is giving the most pain.  Oh well, a few pain killers and a glass of wine and I'm sure I won't feel a thing.
    Dotty how are you?  (((((Hugs))))))) for you and your little girls.  It will take them a little while to get passed missing him but it will happen.....so long as they are eating and drinking something they will be fine.
    Par-tay?  Did someone mention a PAr-TAY?   Now I sure could use a bit of cheering up with a par-tay! The dress code is Toga?  uh...okaaaaaay.....not sure if toga will suit this old, round body but I'll give it a burl!  How's this?
    Glamorous Goddess Adult CostumeOkay, I'm going to check out the lounge and see who's lurking there..........I need a glass or three of wine so I don't whine about my face.........hahahahaha!
    PaNtS...........some nice fruity white wine please!  Hope all are having a great day!
    Beanie--Are you invited???? Are you losing your mind, woman? Of course you're invited! Anyone who has ever even looked at this thread gets to come PARTAY for Junie's B-day!!!!!!
    Wahine--"Forgive me?" is just another way of saying "sorry" and "sorry" isn't allowed here, remember? Hope you slept well last night!
    AStorm--another time I'm glad I never married. It's bad enough to have Sadie wake me up at 5:30 to go piddle, but I can at least go back to bed if I want to! Tired must be epidemic right now, I've been kind of tired this week too. Not enough to stop me from doing stuff, but enough to make sitting down and putting my feet up at the end of the day a pleasure.
    Karen--So sorry to hear about your friend, hope she recovers quickly and it's not a serious thing, like any brain surgery could be anything but serious. Here's to good luck for the DS's job possibility!
    Junie--the grill cover went from the back deck to the front yard? Some wind!
    Karen--what's a veggie straw?
    Chrissy! So glad things went well, make sure to take your pain meds as needed! Wine is an excellent pain medication booster. Yep, it's a Toga B-day Partay Weekend for Junie! I'm going for a more voluminous Toga to hide the rotund tummy. . .
    Hmm. We need a good DOTD.  What shal it be today?  How about a TOGA Party?
     2 oz Brandy
    1/2 tsp Maraschino Liqueur
    1 tsp Lemon Juice
    2 dashes Bitters
    1 tsp Pineapple Juice
    Directions
    Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.
    NM, My DH will take a case of the smokey bacon sun screen! Love the feather outfits and I think it will look good on any of us.....since we all have the perfect bodie while here at The HTL!
    Kathy, you work too hard and too much! Good grief woman.
    Karen, hoping all will be well for your friend. That is so nice that friends are pitching in to make meals for her family. Good luck for your DS on his job hunt. We don't have an Ikea here where we live. They are down in Phx, but I have not been in one. No camping for this girl....in the woods or in front of a store.
    Gail, not much smoke here, so I don't have that to worry. The wind must have shifted for a bit as it did get smokey here for an hour or so, but that was all. Now there is another fire in southern AZ.......human caused.
    Beans, what kind of drugs are you on? Can you be invited? smack smack
    Junie we need to give Mother Nature some chill pills.
    Chrissy, sorry your face hurts. Maybe you could portend it hurts from laughing so much? But good you got that taken care of and I hope the pain subsides soon.
    Someone asked where Wahine's mom and dad live.......Hawaii.
    Stanzie, I was wondering who that was in your Avatar while I was catching up. Your daddy was quite a looker too. So now we know where you get your good looks!
    Thank you all for the comments on my DD. I call her Bootie. Which came from when she was little and we used to tell her how bootiful she was. Yes they are a cute couple, although I am really not too fond of SIL. But they are happy, and that is most important. My youngest brother got into an old box of photos. I'll share a few. This first one I have no recollection of at all! Don't remember that yellow outfit, I don't even remember wearing my hair like that!
    LOL...........hope you enjoyed!
    Karen.....actually I was about to look for something full time when my life got hijacked.  So back to where I was a bit less than 2 years ago.  I was so glad to have consulting work in the interim, however.  Reasons are that I would love to have someone else pay my health insurance, and also a more steady income.  I also want to be with people more.
    There is a whole part of my career I haven't done yet, and I am now ready to go for it.
    Doubletree sounds very comfy, but at this point, I was lucky to get any place to sleep.  These are fundraisers for local church/youth organizations, so glad the money goes to a good cause.  Breakfast and spaghetti dinner (and hot shower!!!!!) are included, and you get to relive the journey with other cyclists.  So major fun.
    Just saw that Weiner is resigning.  Really, the only option at this point as he had lost all support.  What a creep and idiot.
    Toga party brings me back to my HS days when those of us in Latin class had a pool/toga party.  These were all home-made togas and quite hideous.  Still remember the day.  I don't remember swimming as early June and still quite chilly.  I do remember not budgeting the chicken I was buying correctly and having to pay for the balance out of babysitting money.
    I hadn't thought of a FUN toga party with an attractive toga.  Now there's a concept, and I'm in.
    Just the most gorgeous day here.  Have a cycling meeting tonight, at the home of someone with lakefront property.   Should be wonderful.
    Talk to you later.  Will also do coffee with a friend to practice some interview ideas. - Claire
    OMG...just lost a long post....computer turned off...think was updating, so need to check what times that is set up for....sheesh....!!!! (Haven't set this netbook up completely yet, just started using it).
    Lori, Love those pics! Your dad's thin mustache is so stylish for that time...really sharp looking. Your long gorgeous hair parted in the middle reminded me of a flower child...sooo pretty. And my fav pic is the one of you in the plaid outfit....toooooo cute for words!!! Thanks for posting them. I had gone into detail on why I am working so hard, but don't feel like writing all of that again! Suffice it to say, we have been really burned by contractors doing horrid work, ruining our house, having to fire them ( paying atty $$$), and paying more for fixing their errors, and one even fell from up high, onto his head, had brain surgery and tried to sue us. Thank God I keep careful records and had done all the right things....so that got thrown out...But we have had such angst and stress and paid out too much money for things that were not done right....so I just hate to have to hire anyone...really is scary. Thats one reason I try to do so much myself (and DH doesn't know how to do those things....doesn't even paint). There will be some things coming up soon that we have to hire contractors for, but hopefully we will get good ones this time. We did have good ones rebuild our chimney last year, so will get bids from them too. Even if you pick the highest bid, and see their references, it doesn't always go well. ALSO, we traveled all the time for a few years, and got very behind on repairs, etc. Then with my bc dx over 3 yrs ago, so many repairs/projects got sidelined, with surgeries, recovery times, etc. SO it is either the fact that I want everything finally to get done, OR maybe the sublingual B12 is giving me energy....don't know which....but I have a lot of adrenaline lately to get things done!!!
    That sucks that so many of us have trouble sleeping well, lately! I actually got caught up last night, from just 2 hrs the night before (cause of early fiight for parents). The melatonin really works for me, and I am thankful for it.
    Sooooo funny Gail, about DH waking you up! I know what you mean! I also think "foreplay" becomes a much different word once you marry....seems they forget how important that is, and how much time is best!!! I used to love to hug a  lot too (was it Karen that said that about hugging?), but not as often anymore, as it is taken as meaning "I want sex right now"! LOL. Of course, the hormones aren't raging like they used to, either. Oh, and the first time DH saw the lone white peking duck in our lake, he called him (her?) Aflac. And the name stuck! Would love to buy some companions for it, but not sure what sex it is, and also if we buy some, wonder if they would stay in the lake? Aflac hangs out with the mallards and other ducks....always has at least one other duck following him around. And would prolly come in their house if the door was open! We will go feed it every so often, so it will keep coming up in their yard...when they are gone for 2-3 mo, it takes awhile for Aflac to come back to them.
    Karen, I hope your DS gets that job.....seems like a perfect one! And I hate that your friend will be having brain surgery. GOod thing so many friends are making food for them, even you, although you will be gone. Nice of you to think ahead, with all you have to do this week! I have an older SIL, much older than me, who had brain surgery many yrs ago and did just fine. I hope for excellent results for your friend.
    NM, you are just too good....thought I would get away with writing "forgive", since "Sorry" is not allowed....but you caught me red handed! LOL. Love your toga dwink.....purrfect!! And of course, like someone else mentioned, we will partay well into Monday, so you can join in. OF course, you might have to carefully step over us, as we may all be passed out by then.
    Happy Thursday girlzzzzz!!!! Yeah, I gotta do some work outside again, but its got to get done! Really, I would LOVE to lounge around, but then it wouldn't get done. THinking of you all, and hope for a nice day for everyone!!!!!
    Sheets! Toga Partay! Fermented Grapes!!!!
    Karen, I was born in 58, so I think perhaps close in age.
    Claire, your camping will be fun, provided you have a good air mattress. Done plenty of that with our kids when they were little.
    Kathy, I love my melatonin....but like I said before, I do 20mg. I just don't take it every night. Too bad DH is more helpful in helping to fix things. That is one thing that my DH is good at. About the only thing he is NOT good at is motors, or anything to do with cars. But I can certainly understand your reasons. Long hair parted down the middle, I was not the flower child type, nor a hippie..........guess it was just a 70's thang! I was not a popular one growing up.
    Hubby ran off to see the accountant, and I better scoot before he gets back. Grabbin a few Toga's tho first!
    Hi Lori, Yeah, I knew you and 1 other gal here take melatonin. After you mentioned taking 20mg, I have been taking 5-6mg every night, and it works like a charm. Before knowing how much you took, I only took 3 mg! So, thank you for that!!! Wish it would help some of the others here. DH had a good appt w/ heart dr....nothing to worry about right now, and the probs have not gotten worse from 6 mo ago, so that is good.
    Awwwww...they are showing a van taking 70 more dogs/cats up to New York for adoption, from our  city. This way, the shelters here have more room to keep the tornado-displaced pets, for their owners. The city is so far behind in picking up yard waste (usually every wk) from all the tornado debris, that we have had our huge pile of limbs out front for 2 wks now. Prob is, people have added to our pile; not sure if what is in all their black garbage bags is stuff that should be out there! If not, then WE will get a nasty letter. Looks too angular for yard waste.
    Anyone here?here?here? (echo)....soooo empty....but it is PAU HANA TIME!!!! Enjoying a Seagrams/Diet Coke with a Toga dwink on the side. Come and join me!!!!
    WooHoo! Lots to celebrate.....no more WEINER!!!! ANd to think he was thinking of running for gov of NY, b4 this happened.
    Down the Hatch,
    Kathy
    Goldie...yup we are the same era...I'm 1956 (hence Karen1956)...I thought the pic of the long hair was from high school!!!!
    Took kids out to eat....went to a pub and had fish and chips....should have told DS to stay home...he is such a pain in the ass.....enjoyed a nice glass of merlot with dinner....now its time to have another glass or two at home in my jammies.....
    The Judy Moody movie is cute...the girls (all 13 yo) enjoyed it...."Urkel" was in the movie....didn't recognize any of the other actors.....
    Meeting one of my dearest and bestest bff for breakfast tomorrow...I haven't seen her since march....another friend is joining us....its actually my gf friend but someone I know and enjoy, but I won't share as much with bff since its not just the two of us....I've been trying to connect with the other gal for awhile as I have this huge teddy bear that I had in my office for many years...the bear originally belonged to her college roommate who taught kdg in my school....the kdg teacher one day asked me to keep it in my office to saave on wear and tear...well the kdg teacher lost her battle with the best 14 or 15 years ago....I never had a desire to get rid of the bear, but this gal still sees the kdg teacher's married daughter...I no longer have my own office, so no need for the bear...and don't want to just give the bear away (does this make any sense)...
    Tomorrow night, Shabbat dinner is Miriam and me and maybe my son....so I need to make sure that I don't over cook....going to make chicken schnitzl...Miriam wants rice pilaf, so will make that as well plus a salad and hot veggie.....of course challah...,kids want oatmeal cookies.....Saturday Miriam and I are going to a gf for lunch...it is the friend who has offered me her house to stay in Israel..the one that I'm thinking I might turn down due to the distance...14km from where I'll be every day......still talking to the gal (talking by email) in Isreal....
    Mom took Dad to FAU today for an evaluation at the memory clinic...Mom felt pretty upbeat after the appt....they offered her a follow up to go over results on the 30th...Mom asked them if they could schedule it on the 27th or 28th when I am there and they are going to get back with mom...I sure hope that they can make that work....This is the first time in a while that mom has felt positive....
    May go and buy a bottle of Melatonin and give it a try again...I have an appt with a new psychiatrist on Monday and will see what she says about meds....I haven't taken the ambien or ativan in several days....if I have a few glasses of wine, I sleep okay...without anything, I still wake up every 1 -2 hours....
    I've re-loaded all my CD;s on my ipod...have 250+ songs....have a new CD to download...plus want to buy a few songs from itunes....now just need new ear buds....also need to still find all the CD's for pics to see what I have and what I need to make...then its pretty much just pack and maybe a few more toiletries....oh yeah...do any bill paying and make sure the hubby knows where the check book is and what needs to be paid when I'm gone (only bills that come in the mail...things that are pain on line I can do....plus will try to pay everything ahead)....so hopefully, I won't stress too much over the week-end...don't have too much planned on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, except a few appts.....want to keep it that way....DD has a sleep over Sunday night, then she is pretty much free.....still can't believe that I leave in less than a week for 5 weeks!!!!
    Oh...I have cleared time on Saturday night for the toga party....have to be sure to celebrate Junie's b'day....Sweet dreams to all the loungettes....Karen
    Lori--loved the pics--wish you'd shown more--you still have the same lovely smile!   It is fun to go back through old pics...did some of that when DD visited.   We had a good time sharing memories.
    Karen--sounds like you're another person who needs to slow down just a bit!   Your trip is getting close and you're gonna be gone and back before we all realize it!   Hope you can take lots of pics and share your trip with us.
    Good day today (tks to Claire and NM!!!).   Driver's license renewed in a heartbeat...got my handicap tags...in and out in 20 minutes.   That is one benefit of small town living--two people working; one trying to explain something to a couple of older ladies; another small group who were waiting for some info to be faxed in; and we waltz in and the other clerk pipes right up to help us--didn't even have to pull a wait number out of the machine!   Same thing when we go to vote--no lines; no crowd' no waiting..........we promptly used the handicap tag to park close at our fav likker store to stock up for the weekend!!!
    so, I'm all relaxed/relieved and ready to PAR-TAY......gotta go shopping manana for my perfect toga/sandals.....hope to find some razzle-dazzle!!!
    Happy TGIF in the morning and then, it is PAR-TAY time!!!!!!!!!
    cHairs and bottomzup!!!
    Wow!  Everyone is so busy!!!   I feel positively lazy just sitting in front of the puter....for once doing as I was told by the doc....lol
    I take 10mg melatonin as well and it works better than prescribed meds and doesn't leave me with the meds hangover in the morning.  Be careful though because for some people it has the opposite effect, my DD1 for example.  Twice she has taken some of mine and both times she got no sleep at all so scratch that off her list.
    Hope all you girls are on top of the world!!!
    Heading out to the hammocks seeing as how I've got to rest............PaNtS.........whatever the drink of the day is?  bring me two to start and keep 'em coming!!!
    TITZ UP!!!
    Okay....I've cleaned the desk in my office and the hall closet where "stuff" gets put and I don't know where I put the disks with all the photos off my camera....so now do I go throw all 400+ pictures and see what ones are worth making....at Target its 4.99/disk so all those pics are $20+  don't mind paying if I was sure that I didn't already have some of them...guess I should see what Walgreens and Costco charge or snapfish....or just say the heck with it and do them all and know that I have the pics somewhere else besides the computer in case it crashes...But, now the hall closet (its a closet with shelves in the wall....kind of a neat thing) looks really nice and organized.....I know its not in the kitchen drawers since I emptied them out when we put the new counters in.....so where are they!!!  Heck as I write this, I think I'll check go through them quickly and delete the really awful ones and then put them all on a disk...want a clean memory card for the trip......Typed up a packing list tonight and forgot to put jewelry on the list......bought a small duffle bag as a carry on, but it might just be a scose (how do you spell that word) too big....since I'm flying from here to Toronto on United, I have to pay for luggaage, so hopefully only one checked and one carry on....the airline I'm flying to Florida from Toronot only charges for the 2nd bag and of course international there is not charge for the 1st 2 bags....So those of you who know how to pack light, for 5 weeks, how many outfits do I take!!!!....going to finish my glass of wine and get into bed and read....Sweet dreams loungettes.....
    Beans, sorry for the lost post, seems that has been happening a lot here lately! Would love to see some of your old photos. Thanks for the comments. You know back in the day, I hated my body. I hated being so tall and skinny, now I would give anything to have it back!
    Karen, LMAO at you saying your son is a PITA! I'm sure he didn't do anything too terrible. I love the bear story and yes it makes sense. I do hope you are able to pass it on the daughter. Lunch with your daughter will be wonderful. So excited for you and your trip coming up.......sounds like you have everything in order. Can't you copy your pictures yourself, on to a disc? Or just buy a new card? I can NOT help you pack...you should see what I take for just a weekend get away! I would not want to be in your shoes. But I think we all might want to be in your suitcase!
    Thanks Junie, there are more pics, I just didn't want to hoard the thread with them, since we are a drinking thread! I think my brother posted about 20 of them. Glad that all of your running was uneventful. Yep, no white sheets here either. But I do have a cute joke with sheets in it. I'll go look for it and post it separate.
    Hey Chrissy! Glad you are doing what your good doctor told you to...good girl! I did not know that about the melatonin, glad it doesn't do the opposite on me, as I love the stuff.
    Fire at 33% contained, but I tell ya, this darned wind just doesn't want to stop. I am so sick of it! I think it has been blowing for 3 months, and not just a nice breeze either.
    Well, got my Toga Outfit and shoes for the PAr tAy!
    Found one for Kymn too...............she is so easy to shop for!
    DorK, you working too much or dwinking too much? (Me thinks work) Miss you chica!
    Wahine--losing a long post is just YUCK! So sorry you're having contractor problems, that is no fun at all, I imagine. Have you looked at Angie's List? That's a site that rates contractors, doctors, and all kinds of businesses. The evaluations are made by people who have used the business, and businesses can't pay to get evaluated. I know some people who have used Angie's List and gotten great results, and few problems. And who cares where the energy comes from, as long as you have it! Although it would be nice to know where it comes from so we can do more of whatever is working. . . And I'll be careful when I come into the Lounge Monday, so I don't step on anyone. Hmm, I probably should get some batteries for the camera and bring that with me! Oh, that is going to be one wicked fun gossip session with Pants, Jocks, Kandi, and Skates! Did you guys know they keep notes during our partays??????
    Goldie--did you notice the reports that came out a year or so ago suggesting that melatonin may have anti-breast cancer effects? It was only a lab study, but that's were all research starts. I use melatonin pretty regularly myself, have for several years now. I take 15 mg when I take it. The lab study indicated that larger doses were needed for anti-bc effect and since the higher dose works better for me I figure I'm getting a two-fer!
    Beanie--there's a epidemic of lost posts! Someone find a repellant, quick! The Bear business makes perfect sense to me!
    Karen--Nothing like keeping busy to make time go by faster until your trip. Hopefully DH will be able to cope without you.
    Junie--PAR-TAY! PAR-TAY! PAR-TAY! Time to get started! This way I get to party for a while before going on call, so I will see the beginning and the end of the weekend shindig--Yeah! Glad you got through DMV so quick, that is a big advantage of small town living. Gotta love it!
    Chrissy--following doc's orders is good, especially when it means vegging in front of a computer!
    Karen--check out this site for some great packing tips: http://www.onebag.com/pack.html
    I used some of this info when I went to Hawaii with the family some years ago--I packed for a week in a wheeled carryon and a shoulder bag. You probably will need more than just a wheeled carryon, but the packing lists and bundle packing technique are really helpful.You can also get clothes that let you wear a lot of your stuff:
    DOTD:  The Party Starter:
    1/2 oz Cointreau
    3 oz Lemon Juice
    3 oz Lime Juice
    5 drops Bitters
    Directions
    Pour the Cointreau, lemon juice, lime juice and bitters into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, strain into a collins glass almost filled with ice cubes, and serve.
     DOTD For SATURDAY:  The Happy Birthday
    1 oz Vodka
    3/4 oz Raspberry Liqueur
    1/4 oz Dark Creme de Cacao
    1 oz Milk
    Directions
    Add all ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker, shake, and pour into a martini glass.
    DOTD for SUNDAY:  Happy Juice
    1 1/2 oz Coconut Rum
    1 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
    1/2 oz Guava Juice
    1 oz Pineapple Juice
    1 splash Passion fruit Juice
    1/2 oz Looza mango nectar
    Directions
    Combine the schnapps and Malibu rum in a highball glass; add in the pineapple juice. Add in the mango nectar and guava juice til the taste is suitable (may want to go light on the guava juice for it's heavy distinctive taste) then top off with a splash of passion fruit juice, and serve.
    Good Morrrrrrrrrning!!! NM, Wow, you set up our dwinks for the days you will be busy....how sweet! I think I would love the taste of the Happy Juice, since it has so many hawaiian fruits in it, but may need to add more likker! After buying the coconut rum, we found out it has less % likker than regular rum, so might need to add a tad more. Really nice to remember the Birthday drink too, for junie! Your cartoons are always soooooo funny! And now I realize even more of us are taking melatonin!!! What a godsend it is. Even thnough my DH takes it, and falls asleep at any moment he wants to, I found out he is still taking sleeping pills at times. HUH? He sleeps in front of the tv for hours before bedtime! Wish I could get him to stay awake till bedtime, then he wouldn't need any sleeping pills.....  I just don't understand that!
    Chrissy, OMG I was so concerned about your surgery and then forgot to even mention anything to you. Well, I am not allowed to say I'm sorry, or apologize, but you know what I mean. Glad you are taking it easy, and that it all went well. You must be getting so excited about your trip!
    Junie, Wow....how lucky to get that handicap pass so easily. You know what burns me? My parents only have ONE handicap pass....at their ages! And apparently that one was hard to get. I think after someone hits 90, it should be automatic. I am VERY GLAD you have one, as you definately need it, and I am not trying to diminish that need, but it just reminded me of how upset I have been for a few yrs that they don't have one for each of them. Yes, that is a nice perk of a small town! When I lived out in the country, I loved going IN to our post office at Christmas, as there were no lines.....ten miles down the road it would be totally crowded! I am so excited about your birthday tomorrow!!!! Did you get your ipad2 from DH? Or are you waiting to open it till tomorrow? Such a nice, expensive gift!!!!
    Well we had been soooo dry, but then had a bit of thunderstorms Wed night, and then last night it exploded all night....lots of thunder and lightning, and it is still raining now. Very glad for it. Wish the wind would stop in AZ and they could get those fires contained. How many sq miles is it now, Lori? Last I heard it was 700 sq miles, and that is so hard to even imagine. I told my parents to look out the window as they did fly over AZ, but not sure if the pilot mentioned it, or if it might have been too cloudy (smoky) to see.
    Karen, I always pack waaaaay too heavy. Thank god for airline status that I haven't had to pay for checked bags. I had to downsize to 1 lg suitcase and 1 carryon for our cruise, as we had to fit luggage for 4 in the rental van. I was lucky to have wrinkle-free long dresses/gowns, which helped a lot. On long trips, I pack powder laundry detergent and some plastic hangers so I can wash things out, but since you might stay at a friends place, I am sure they have washing facilities. So I guess I have no downsizing tips! But I do like wrinkle-free clothes on trips.
    Lori, I have read that joke before, and think its sooooo funny, so thanks for sharing it! OOPS just lost the satellite tv signal...that is what I hate about satellite tv...think we will switch back to cable when contract is out. LOVE your toga....nice color!! When I looked up toga pics, it showed lots of bright colors and patterns, and someone said it is best to buy fabric to make it with....cheaper than a sheet. NICE toga for Kymnie!! BTW, where is Kymn? Been missing her.
    OK girls, will fniish my cuppa joe and stop typing so darn much!!!  Have a great Friday!!! DorK, are you ok.....haven't heard from you for a bit.
    TGIF!!!! TOGA PARTAY!!! BIRTHDAY PARTAY!!!  Dwink Up Girls,
    Kathy
