This is another thread that has me howling with laughter today! I too have a bubble butt. No fat on me from the waist up. (It's all south of the border.) I'm a size 10 though and am trying to drop 15 pounds. I am not a slim build, so a size 8 is perfect for me.
My delayed healing since BMX has curtailed my exercise (walking only). However, I decided this morning that almost 5 months is long enough to wait for this TE incision to heal and I am going with my PS's recommendation to have it removed so the skin can finally heal. My surgery is set for July 6. (More info and pics on the pics forum.) I feel good that I have made this decision and can finally start moving on. We'll try TE again this fall.

You all are having too much fun on this thread. Keeping me laughing instead of being nervous about my upcoming exchange!
Rennasus, sorry you need to loose you TE, but you have a great attitude and sounds like a good decision for you. July 6th is just around the corner. I have a friend who lost a TE with healing issues last year, new TE, exchange and now doing great!!

Renn: Oh, no!!!!!!!!! Say it ain't so

This is the thread for me: I'm 53, and hate panty lines, so wear a thong!!! I *do* have a serious implant question, however....
I had a TRAM flap reconstruction 9 months ago; I was an A cup before, and decided not to do implants since they just didn't feel natural to me. Can you ladies and your DHs tell me what they fell like when you're playing around? What do you feel? I have an appt with my PS on Friday--my new nipple looks WAY different from my real one, so I want to ask him about fixing the old one, which may reduce sensation. So I thought, while I'm at it, and since I'm not happy with how my "noob" (it's not fake, since it's me, so it's a new boob) looks, I'm wondering if I should go for the B or even small C cup. I'm 5'5", and a size 6. I want to be able to feel, primarily--do you know when the DH is copping a feel?? sorry to be so blunt...:-)

betsym: I am a little over 4 months out from bilateral nipple-sparing MX and I have expanders. I have feeling in the skin over my sternum, around the breasts, and the upper portion of the breasts (but weird in that area). No nipple sensation at all.
There's a fairly new thread on this topic you could also check out:

Best of luck whatever you decide!

Im missing sensation probably the two inch strip across where the mx scar is now. But I also had a Uni and with the implant - BOY I feel it over there!

Thanks for the link,TinaT. My MX side is completely numb; I don't want to lose any more sensation in the boob I have left. If I put an implant in there in addition to on the MX side, will I lose feeling? Does an implant reduce sensation?

betsym: I think feeling comes back to some degree, some more some less, regardless of an implant. I have loss of feeling under the arm and where my scar is. I know on my augmented side I had too much feeling, especially around the nipple.

Whoo... you ladies are having some fun here today. Personally, I tried a thong years ago and it drove me nuts. I prefer Jockey's "No panty line promise" panties. They really do work for me.
I finally got around to posting just a few pics that I have. Never could bring myself to take photos of me prior to my BMX, and tossed one I had of me in the fully expanded TE's. So, I start from here.
I have my first post-op early tomorrow morning. Looking forward to talking to him about my progress.
Sorry you are losing your TE Rennasus. But sounds like you are ready to move on and do what it takes. I'm still trying to lose 8-10 pounds that I put on over the last year. Wonder if that will change how my new foobs look on me. Assuming there is no fat there, I guess if the rest of me gets smaller, they look bigger????

Joan: Yes, I think that is true! If you get smaller, your Foobs look bigger because your proportion has changed.
Christine47: Glad to hear your friend had success after she lost her TE. I need to find a "lost TE" thread!

Joan - tried a thong and it drove me nuts too - but I did love not having panty lines - I'm going to check out the Jockeys - thanks!!

All thongs are not created equal! I have tried VS and alot of other brands, but my favorite right now is a brand called "Barely There" and they are microfiber material carried by Kohls.

Love thongs, everyone should wear them regardless of age, its another look thing, thanks for the barely there, looking for new ones, have VS. My foobs look fabulous, in fact they are perfect if you like the natural look and even as can be, good projection just not the look of TE's I wanted, PS did too good of job with TE's. I did not take photos of TE's because PS said they implants will not look like them, he was right. I am choosing not to do nipples, DH does not care, I did get the stick on ones and they work, he thought they were nice under the sexy Elle McPhearson bra and matching panties (thong) I got at Nordstrom. My foobs are pretty numb. Maybe I need to wear a real bra when I sleep, been taking off the underwire and wearing sports bra to sleep. I think I will order a new bikini, maybe that would make me feel better. Cameron your foobs rock in my world! Happy everyone seems to be doing good. I never cared about boobs before now if there is a playboy nearby, I have to look, pics only, imagine the looks I get form other men that are nearby, especially when I tell DH those are what I wanted- in a public place. I do not realize at the time that may have been inappropriate. SueBee glad you are doing well, I will be watching for more changes, maybe they will fluff up. Hope those that just had exchange are doing good. I had an anti-gravity chair in my room to sit in when I got tired of lying in bed, was a nice change.

Renn -- sorry you had to make that decision but it is better to heal, I think, and hopefully a new start will work better later.
Re: thongs -- I don't wear them but my mom (in her 70s) does!
Re: sensation -- my native side (where I had a reduction and lift) had SUPER HUMAN sensitivity for the first 3 months and has gradually gotten more normal since then (I'm a year out from that surgery). My implant side I have feeling around the breast but numb in the center where nipple used to be. Also number under the arm. Overall, though, I'd say that the area of numbness has gotten smaller with time.

Lilah, Your Mom must rock if she is in her 70's and wears thongs! I tried them (I admit only a couple of brands) and it felt just too uncomfortable. I'm going to look for those no-line jockeys, but I might have a problem as the brands are different here.
I also dislike wearing bras, so don't have an interesting collection, just a couple of plain black and plain beige ones. In fact, since I am 3 months out from my DM with permanent implants (195 and 225cc) I only wear a jog bra when I'm running or working in the garden and a boring plain one when I leave the house. My foobs are so small, they just sit there and don't move.
I still don't have nipples, and only want them as it still shocks me to see myself in the bathroom mirror and I cover myself in front of my DH even though he says I look fine. Fine? I am so over the 'Barbie Doll' look.
My new breasts (that's what I still call them) have no feeling and a couple of times while gardening I have actually pressed against something and put temporary dents in them and bruised the skin. It's good I don't have a gas cooktop in the kitchen or I could be setting them on fire like Robin Williams did in Mrs. Doubtfire. Imagine having to go into your PS and have your implant replace because of poking a hole in it or setting it on fire - oh help me keep my boobs safe from puncture!

Ok, I give in - I'm going to buy some thongs - they better not be too uncomfortable

I used to wear thongs every day. I have a flat but and most regular bottoms leave extra material back there that bunches up on me. But I lost some weight and started to wear looser clothes and now the hanes bikinis fit great. But I still wear a thong once in a while jsut cause.

Justagirl -- oh my! Do be careful not to damage yourself!
Re: my mom -- she is truly amazing -- not only does she wear thongs but she skis all winter and sails all summer (in her 70s). She is healthier and more active than me. I admire her.

I'm 5 weeks post exchange today - yeah- and was wondering about a few things. How long do you need to massage? Is it important to wear a bra 24/7 and for how long? (My PS told me to wear the chest strap for 5 weeks.) When can I buy some new bras? Does it matter if they are 'underwire' bras? How long does it take before my foobs will feel more a part of me and I'm not so aware of their weight etc.. For those who had ripples prior to nipple reconstruction did the nipple reconstruction using your own breast tissue improve the ripples? If I pinch a small amount of skin where the nipple will be reconstructed it miminzes the most noticeable ripple. Thanks for any comments!

tembo - From my understanding with the silicone round implants you need to massage everyday for as long as you have them. My PS's instructions were to massage 3x a day for the first three months, then 2x a day for 6 months and then 1x a day forever.
The whole bra issue is one where PS's opinions differ greatly. Check out the bra thread. It's called: Bras 101: The Great Post Exchange Debate. My PS told me no underwires for three months then I could wear them. Some ladies were told to get fitted right after their drains came out and they went straight into an underwire 24/7. Most of us have found that we are uncomfortable without a bra and gravity will always win so it is best to wear one. You want to keep the girls where your PS placed them.
It takes at least 3-6 months for the implants to settle and drop. I've had my implants for eleven months and they're just now starting to feel like a part of me. It just takes time. Wasn't prepared for how cold the silicone feels in the winter. They're still chilly to the touch in the heat. That takes some getting used to.
Congratulations on your exchange!

I know what you mean by implants feeling cold. We are in winter here and it seemed like I was feeling colder in the house more so than my DH and son. Then, one day, drying off after a very hot shower I actually felt how cold my breasts were. No wonder I was feeling chilled! It is bizarre. Makes my breasts really feel like NOT being a part of me. Oh well, such is life with implants........
PS: my ps said no need to massage the implants or the area around them. Amazing how different ps are on what to and not to do.

Justagirl -- do you have the Allergan 410 gummy implants? If so, they don't need to be massaged. Also: if you have textured implants of any kind they also do not need to be massaged. As I understand it, only the smooth rounds need to be massaged daily.

Can I ask what everyone does when they massage? I was told to put my palm flat across the top of my pectoral muscle where my implant was inserted and press in for about 20 seconds. My PS said that I didn't need to press inward on the lateral surfaces of my foobs because they were positioned close enough (they're a little more than a thumb width apart) I massage my scars- my BMX scars are really long - they basically are the entire width of my foobs. Was anyone told to take Vit E?

tembo: Dawne-Hope gave you excellent advice! I am constantly feeling myself up and rubbing them. They are always cold and soemtimes ache-I just hope I am not doing this in public, lol. I look at them like when a muscle gets sore so you rub it to make it feel better-I don't have any certain way that I do it.

That is very interesting that silicone "holds the cold." Seems like a benefit for those of us with hot flashes!! Is it?

I was thinking the same thing!

Justagirl. I saw in another thread that there are rub on 3D nipple tatoos you can purchase. They look pretty good to me. I just had my exchange surgery so I can not use them yet. If I had known about them earlier I would have gotten a pair and tried them out. I think I might get a pair to try before I get my own tatoos. I have pretty much decided to go the 3 d nipple tatoo route instead of nipples. I like not having to worry about my nipples showing thru my clothes and I really want to avoid anymore surgical procedures.

I haven't experienced the "cold foob" thing yet? (9 weeks out from exchange). And believe me....I would notice....I'm constantly feeling myself up! lol!
It's not exactly warm here in the Pacific Northwest either...even when it's summer! ... do they only do this when it's REALLY cold??
