Welcome Debbie G to the Illinois site.  I'm from the central part of the state so I can't help with your doctor suggestion but maybe Jackie or ATeam Nana will be able to help.  I think they are closer to you.  Congrats on your marriage!  Come back often and post.  There are many great women on this site who are more than willing to help.

Susan, I'm not sure about the jokers either.  I thought they were the "freebies" that you got when you made a series of of five of the same type.   Then later I wondered if they were the things we receive for completing all the different colors...you know, they appear beneath the picture board.  Connie could probably tell us.  You're right.  She's awesome with this game.

Who is the author of "The Paris Wife"?

Well, break time is over.  I got a accomplished this morning but still have more to do.  This is a bit scary for me.  Usually I operate in slow speed when it comes to errands, housework, and laundry!

    Enjoy this warm, sunny day!

Waving to everyone especially those I haven't called out specifically. There are so many of us here I just can't keep up.

Taxi welcome to Illinios and congratulations on your marriage. I too was diagnosed last July. I'm hear in Chicago. I don't even know where Darion is. I'm being treated in the city.

IllinioNative do let us know when your 15 minutes is going to be aired!

makmak glad to hear from you but bummer about the headaches. Of course I'm hoping for the best case scenario.

Special hi to BJ because I feel I haven't said hi in a bit Wink

Just got my hair cut short and colored again this morning. No more wavy squirrel hair in back. Still haven't cut the top though. I need some more bangs.

Fireworks on Navy Pier! I should be able to see them from my roof as well as all the suburban fireworks. I have a panoramic fireworks display from my building. It's awesome.

    Adey!!!

Hello Ladies and a Happy 4th,

MakMak - I am thinking of you and hoping for the best.  I understand the need to know.

I have been dealing with a lot of sad thoughts - not sure if it is depression or just being lonely.  Hope I get myself pulled together soon.

Hi everyone.  Lago...I think the bangs area always fills in last pretty much.

A big hi to you Taxi.  I live 75 or so miles north of Marion.  I was however being seen by the V.A. in Marion when my cancer was discovered.  They in turn farmed me out to the Women's Breast Center ( Carbondale, right next to Marion ) and I had the good fortune to be Dr. Marsha Ryan's patient.  I feel she truly did save my life.  I had two different cancers in the same breast.  One....the aggressive much larger on was hiding under a bruise and no one, including Dr. Ryan, had any idea it was there.  But....she lifted out the bruise during my lumpectomy.....and just kept checking and re-checking the area and found the IDC....which gave me 6 mos. of chemo and 7 weeks of rads.....but I'm alive and well and ned and able to be a thorn ( sorry Laura ) in someones'side if I want too.....but I never want too.  That office is the only one I know but out of a possible 10....I give them 20.

Laura....glad your eye is much better.  It is important to be careful.  I've never much minded wearing my glasses....I only have 5% vision in my left.....so cannot afford to have anything happen to my right.  Do wear something when your working outside.

Hugs to you Marina....sure hope the MRI will give you answers so you know where to go from here.

Susan.... how great to offer Mak a hand if needed.

Well, off to see how little Minnie is doing.  Since I brought her home here to foster.....I am going to name her Minnie ( short for Miniature Pinscher  ) and they are going to let me.  She is a really, sweet, lovable little gal.  Not quite as hyper as most Min Pins are --- thank goodness...my household would really be topsy-turvy.  Dh approves....he really likes her.

I'll be checking back later now that my computer is working good again.  Hope your all having a great Saturday afternoon.

    Hugs, Jackie

taxitreedeb - I'm in your neck of the woods.  I went up to St. Louis, MO for treatment.  My breast surgeon is from Washington University at the Siteman Center ... Dr. Julie Margenthaler.  I love her!

I've heard good things about the Carbondale Breast Center too.

Got the  message, makmak.  Keep us posted.  I never check my PM's  and I hear there is an email way of knowing you have a PM so  no one is left hanging.  Of course I forgot what the strategy is, so please chime in anyone if you know.

Char, I consider myself one of the luckiest people I know, but I also have sad thoughts and get in the dumps and even though I have so many delightful and loving people in my life, I too feel lonely some days.  I think we are  living in a time of anxiety but I do wish to tell you that you are not alone. I know I am not alone.  I took myself off the lexapro that I was given for IBS because I was sick and tired of  sleeping ten hours/night.  I am on day three off that stuff out of me and in rushes the IBS with the intestinal issues.   Went to the drugstore for Immodium and low and behold, they were sold out! So I guess I am not the only  girl in town with this thorn in my side. Laura, I also picked up mega pro biotic stuff, so maybe I can pull this off without the Lexapro. That sucker worked for IBS but there is that tradeoff.

BJ, looking at the schedule for antiquing adventures  and will let you know.  How about we take you guys out for a late lunch or early dinner?

Tomorrow is Peter Pan!  I am so excited!   Wendy, I will think of you.   This is my favorite story (but like holidays, I have so many favorites). I am just anticipating clapping for Tinkerbell, clapping so hard so I feel I am in control of her survival. I am excited!

Zap, I see you saw Wicked....I saw it last December, it was incredible. My daughter and I see at least one show a year, it's kind of our thing together....we've seen Cats, Mary Poppins, Shrek, Wicked and The Wizard of Oz. I was going to buy Beauty and the Beast and than I've been so sidetracked with my BC diagnosis and surgery. :(

    Enjoy Peter Pan!!!!!! :0)

Happy 4th of July to everyone.  Hope that you are all enjoying a relaxing time.  Welcome to all of the new girls.  Like everyone has said, sorry you are here, but glad you found us.

Quiet weekend for us, the first in ages.  We have NO PLANS.  My oldest daughter is marching in a parade tomorrow and that's it.  After weeks of busy weekends this is such a welcome and much needed change of pace.

Getting ready to start tamoxifen this week, hoping that the side effects are minimal.  I'm not bouncing back from rads quite as quickly as I expected to, so I'm really taking it easy this weekend, and hoping that the next couple of weeks sees my energy return.

zap/Susan.....go to the top of your blog page.  Click on my home.  Look to the upper right and it should say " my preferences".  Open that and look for email settings.  I think the second box if you check it will sent you a notification by email that you have a pm waiting for you.

I hear all kinds of booms outside.  I thought someone was playing a joke on me and stomping on my deck.  Not too bright tonight after almost 8 hrs. with a tech straightening out my computer.  Updating some drivers but think I am back in business now, but weary.  Lisa...a little time off makes you want more.

Hope you all had a great day.

    Hugs, Jackie

Zap I have IBS but I have the C problem not the D. I use a probiotic and I watch my diet. I know what will set things off. For me it's high animal fats, mostly fatty meat and fatty cheeses. I haven't had a hamburger in 4 years.  Never found any of the meds of IBS to work for me.

Hey gals,  Got a BC question.  I have finally decided to finish reconstruction.  Had my exchange March of 2010 and now I would like to finish with 3D tattoos.  (no nips-I just cannot/will not go through another surgery)  I have a name of someone in Des Plaines but I would like more than just one place/person to research.  Thanks in advance.

Wow, I was just going to check in quick and it has taken me an hour to catch up again.  Suppose my DH wonders if I am still going to bed early.  NOT.  We have a house full with the kids and families here.  House is a wreck already with cell phones and various electronics all over the kitchen counters and at least 10 pairs of shoes by the back door, ... we're all barefooters!  Fridge has already been stocked and restocked.  Wine supply is dwindling.  And we are having so much fun!

Tomorrow morning we will all be up to watch the Wimbledon championship at 8am while enjoying our strawberries and cream, then off to late church, then off to walk in the parade and had out candy with our church float.  If it is too hot, I will be waving curbside.  Then, I think we will all be jumping in the lake to cool off.  BJ... we live a couple blocks off Crystal Lake.  Have been to Lake Geneva quite a few times...like to walk around the lake there.

Welcome to Taxi...and congrats on your recent marriage!  And welcome to Illinois.  Where were you living before?

Makmak.... I am so thinking of you and your upcoming MRI next week.  Let's all pray for good results.  Laura... glad to hear that your eye is better.  NavyMom.... dont' know any good nipple tatoo artists... I guess I have gotten so used to the dicing and slicing I don't really care anymore so will head back for the nipple thing later in October.

Well, I am off to bed like the rest of you.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Morning! Beautiful out...and only 64 on the deck! Went out to have my coffee a d the chairs are too wet and it is a bit chilly, which is ok with me!

Mak...glad you will get answers. I too have had some headaches but they seem to come and go with our strange weather lately...and my non-bc friends have been headachy too so I am hoping that you are dealing with the same pressure/sinus issues.

Joan...you sound like you are having a ball!

BJ....only a short time before vacay...do you make diet cosmos???? Lol!

Debbie...not near Marion but Jackie gave you a name...she sounds great!

Hope you "swell girls" did ok yesterday...even I was a bit puffy...was out to lunch and we were outside and everyone was commenting on tight rings, watches, shoes etc. The men were commenting on tight shorts but we wives pointed out the fries on their plate vs our salads!

Waving at everyone else....have a great Sunday!

Waving from the lake today. Ahhh is it beautiful up here today. Water is very calm right now but in a little while the boats will be out kicking up the waves. Hot and sunny is the forecast today up at the lake. I am having a big BQ party later with family and friends. So time to get things cooking.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi to all. Enjoy your fun holiday . Eat, drink and be merry. lol     Life is to short not to go out and have some fun. Gotta get my run in before it gets too hot out there.

Have a fun filled day!!!!!! Happy 4th of July to all. God bless all our service men and women who are fighting for our freedom. Please keep them in your prayers.

    Waving from the lake......

Good morning everyone.  It's pretty here but going to get a lot hotter later.  Little Miss Minnie is in my lap as I type.  I think she was probably taken from her Mom a bit soon.  She doesn't have total separation anxiety, but more than I think she should.  Of course....I'm the one who gets upset over the least little thing where animals are concerned.

Wendy...I was getting ready to drive over to your deck to have coffee with you.....but then I heard I would have to dry off my own chair so changed my mind and stayed in my air conditioned house.  Actually....it is not too bad temp. wise outside this early, but there is humidity.  I took Minnie out for an early stroll to reliever herself.

Hope you are all going to have a great Sunday -- maybe I'll stop by Bj's lake for a bit.  I love the water so much.  I'll be checking back later.

    Hugs, Jackie

Happy Sunday ladies!!!! My big goal today is making it to the grocery store w/ my husband, maybe he'll let me drive?? I still haven't driven since my BMX on 6/14, starting to really irritate me. My mom seems to feel I'm not ready but what's she gonna do, ground me? LOL

Than my aunt and uncle are coming over with ribs for dinner, my uncle makes the best!!! :0)

Hope everyone enjoys their day!!!!! I'm so jealous of all of you that can get outside and enjoy this weather, I've been pretty laid up since my 1st TE fill.....I honestly think the reconstruction just might end up the absolute worst part of this journey.....

Oh, Madismommy!  Peter Pan is unbelievable.  They are extending it through  August!  Do you think you could take your child? I know you have been through big things so it might be too much for you.  I took "my own  little girl" who is 28 years old.  Like you, it is our thing to do.  I was going to take my four year old grandchild but she is sensitive and I think the pirates and the special effects would be overwhelming for her. Oh, ladies, do consider this play if you love Peter Pan. I am from the Mary Martin as Peter in black and white  on TV mode. Fess up, there are only a few of us that  remember that!

Happy Fourth.  Lots of SPARKLES as ordered up by our Blackjack.

Hmmm -- yes, black and white t.v.  It was a big blond square.  I think I was 8 or 9 when we got it.  First people in town to have one.  We had old fashioned windows in our house and Dad found out that he could scoot it around on the desk where it sat and take the screen out of the window and slide the t.v. in.......so the whole neighborhood almost sat out in our front yard and watched it.  I think we probably got 2 channels at first if we were lucky.  I remember Mary Martin, Howdy Doody, The Mickey Mouse Club, American Bandstand, Dragnet, Ed Sullivan Show, and many others that I can't just think of the name right now.....but it was a wonderful era.....Twilight Zone was one of the biggies.

Anyway....I'm off to relax now.  See you in the a.n.

For any of my fellow Kindle users - I was just checking my book list in my Kindle Library to see if a book I wanted to lend my dad was shareable.  Unfortunately that particular one (Unbroken) is not, but I do have several in my list that are.

If any of you would are interested, drop me a PM for the titles, and maybe you'll have something shareable that I haven't read yet. Although, I just downloaded some new ones and books can only be shared for 14 days.

I'm not sure why they let you share certain books for free, but they do.  I guess it at least gets more word of mouth out there about the book and/or author?  Either way, it's a nice option.

Morning! 59 on the deck! Brrrrrr.....

Rene....I have a Nook with shareable books as well! Anyone who is looking for something to read et me know! Yeah...some books are shareable, others not and I am sure it all has to do with money.

    Susan...glad you liked the play!

Jackie....Twilight Zone! My fav! I still remember the one about the little boy who finds out that the wall area under his bed could be passed thru and he ended up in a bad place. Now don't tell anyone but to this day I NEVER let my foot/leg hang over the edge of the bed. NEVER!

Madismommy....were you allowed to drive? It's nice having people take care of you but I bet it can get annoying after a few weeks. Very annoying. Really annoying. Why not just sneak out and take the car for a spin?

Need to get moving...hope you all have a lovely 4th! Enjoy your freedom today! We are a lucky country!

Going to be a good day.....more rain which was here last night as well.  I am not minding quite so much as usual.  Kater....saw/listened to you on you tube.  What a way to meet.

Will be another long day....I'll be glad to get the 4th. of of the way.  Had to get Maggie back in hospital.....not sure how to get thru to her. Hope I'm not that stubborn when I am old.  Didn't take her water pill so blood pressure went up.....for about the 3rd. time in a row.  She does not like the inconvenience of the water pills --- what can you say....

Anyway, I'll have that plus cooking for tonight ( should have been done yesterday but I spent most of the day getting Maggie settled.  Sigh !!!!  Some times life does not work out so well .

Wishing everyone a good 4th.  Once I'm going I'll get into the spirit --- I'll quit looking at the whole day and start taking it in little parts --- will help me with my patience level here.

Hope it is dry where you all are......Be safe and enjoy.

Kater - How exciting for you to be on the air!

Welcome to all the new people. Sorry you are here though. although this is a wonderful place to come for support, suggestions, comments and friendship. We all understand and can relate.

Rita and Wendy - Yes, we are loving the pontoon boat. Since it is still new for us we sometimes go out numerous times on the weekends.  Many times we just go to a sand bar (No, not The Sand Bar, which is a bar), anchor and just sit on the boat.  I love the rocking and lapping sound of the water. It's a good way to spend time with the family.  Max loves it.  He has become quite the swimmer!

Happy 4th everyone and prayers out to our troops!
