    Hi Ladies,
My exchange surgery is only two days away now-I am counting down to Thursday morning -yeah! I've had these TEs for 4 1/2 months now. Looking so forward to being more comfortable, especially sleeping. The TE's haven't felt that bad during the day (except post-fills), but I have had trouble getting comfortable at night.

My 275cc TE's are filled to 350ccs and I have waited 9 weeks since my last fill for surgery. We hope to exchange for 400-450 ccs. My PS has ordered both Allergan 20s (high profile) and 45s (extra high profile) to try, as well as Mentor high profile silicone rounds.
I am anxious to see what I end up with. I feel ready for surgery, and at the same time I have the nervous jitters. I will add my post op/post exchange pics on the photo forum after surgery.
    Wish me luck!!

Thanks Lmichele- Good luck to you too!! I'm going to remind the anesthesiologist to give me the anti-nausea meds. as some of you have discussed. I only had a minimal problem before, but I think the anesth. routinely gives anti-nausea meds as part of the protocol.

    Hi Ladies,

I hope you don't mind if I chime in on this anethesiatogist conversation. When I had my first Mastectomy surgery in January I woke up with alot of nausia. I stayed the night and they were giving my anti nausia stuff all through the night and sent me home with a prescription for some. So when I had my next surgery about 12 days later I mentioned to the anethesialogist my issues and so he gave me a different coctail of drugs and I woke up with no nausia. However, I did wake up with very sore muscles. Every muscle in my body ached. I could barely walk. It was like I had exercised for hours and really stressed my muscles and woke up the next day all stiff. This lasted about 3 days. I was worried they dropped me or something. I found out later it was reaction to the medication they had used to put me out. So I was told to mention that to the anethesialogist next time because I guess there are lots of different drugs they can use. I never heard of a patch. Maybe I will bring that up now that I know about it.

Valerie thanks for the welcome. I have been seeing a Doctor in Salt Lake City. Is it ok to mention his name in here? I hope everyone is having a good night.

Thanks Ladies for all of the help with post -op nausea.  I picked up my patch today at CVS and it says to apply 24 hrs before surgery.  That will be tomorrow.  Exchange surgery on Wednesday.  It is such a different feeling going into this from feelings before BMX  What a long way we have all come in such a short time.  Now the biggest question is, what will we look like,  I feel like an expectant mother waiting on my new babies.  LOL  Hugs to all and best wishes for speedy recoveries!

redskyatnight - I'll be thinking about you on Thursday!  Prayers to all who are having surgery this week!  xo

HantaYo - It's very nice to have an in-house RN.  Thanks for sharing your advice.  I get horrible motion sickness ... I even get sick driving.  Is that related to post-anesthesia nausea?  Believe me, any surgery I have in the future ... they're going to hear about it!  :)

I have a question. I woke up this morning and my expander feels different. The skin on that side feels softer and I can feel the expander more. It does not feel as full. I had my last fill almost three weeks ago and I am not expecting exchange surgery until August 25th. Is my skin settleing or is it possible I have a leak. The skin does not feel tight at all like I have heard others describe who are about to have surgery. So I am concerned.

Duckyjan -- call your PS.  It might be a leak (mine never got soft EVER).  Although, with that said, I've heard of this happening a few weeks before surgery and in those cases, as I recall, it was not a big deal.  They just let it be and did exchange as planned.  They key thing is: if it feels softer/less full.  Tho if it has never felt tight then it's not a leak... just what it is.  But it sounds like you're saying its softer... so always err on the side of caution and call the doctor :)

Good luck to you ladies that are getting your exchange. I had my exchange in January and it went well. Much easier and I had the anti nausea cocktail which helped tremendously. I am very pleased with my results my PS did a fab job. I have no doubt that you ladies will have awesome results!

Had my exchange on Monday - I had to have 2 drains too.  Wasn[t expecting them but there was extensive work to clean up the dogears as well as replace the implants.  I'm not feeling like everyone i read about and trying not to look at the foobs which are flat hamburg rolls!  My doctor said i could shower in 48 hours with the drains.  I'm a little nervous aobut that though.  Thanks for all the great ideas in this thread!

ok nausea from anesthesia i have to share . . .

I woke up after two surgeries feeling like i was going to be sick. I had the patch both times. But the they waved something under my nose that was like magic. After a few sniffs I was 100% fine. I kept the patch on for a few days because it lasts.

What was this magic cure? Simple alcohol swabs. It tricks the mind somehow. I totally worked I could not beleive it was so easy. I keep a box of the little alcohol packets in my car now.

Does anyone know anything about Hepatitis A?  My son is sick and the doctor thinks he got it from a recent trip he took.  Do I need to stay away from him so I can still get my exchange?

I have not posted in a while and just tried to do a little catching up which looks to be impossible with they way this thread moves.  Congrats to all the new exchangees and good luck to those having exchanges this week.

I am 5 weeks past my exchange and everything has gone so well.  Love my PS (same as Westieluv's)... he did a wonderful job.  I am back to all the activites I enjoy. I will be visiting my PS again in Sept to discuss nipple options, but for now, I am happy to take some time off from scalpels!

OK.  Doctor says to stay away from the son to be safe, but I can't get it from casual contact.  He got it from eating at some place that had unsanitary food preparations - most likely.    He's on one side of the house and I am on the other packing my bags.  I'm leaving tomorrow morning to work and then off to the big city for my E-day.  Hoping by Friday afternoon that I am awake and enjoying a new feeling on my upper chest.

Best wishes to Meekone & Trail2 who got their exchanges today.  A shout out for calm nerves to RedSkyAtNight who gets hers tomorrow!

    Beth,

Just saw your post that your son has Hepatitis A.  Yes, you need to be careful now and until he test clear.

Hepatitis A is a virus which attacks the whole body but mainly the liver and is usually transmitted by poor handwashing and then someone preparing, handling or serving food.

If he is coughing stay well away from him and ask him to cover his mouth and wash his hands after.  Keep his towels and sheets separate from yours but okay to mix in washer with hot water.  All his silverware, drinking cups and plates need to go into the dishwasher or be done by hand with hot water and soap.

Your best defense is good handwashing after you handle anything of his.  HIs treatment should be rest, fluid and nutrition as it is a virus and not treated with antibiotics.  There are one or two antivirals out there and one may apply.

As a RN when Iused to work in the emergency room we delt with all sorts of bad stuff that we didn't really know at the time what they had and those of us that washed our hands after patient contact and didn't touch or faces or chew our nails seemed to not catch everything that came through the door.

It may take a month for him to fully recover.

    take care.

jkz, what kind of revisions did you have?  Glad that you have an awsome PS

I quess a question to all who have done this, how often are revisions or maybe "staging" is a better term needed??

Hi ducky, I may not be caught up... But chiming in to your post... I did not overfill my TE's so they are hard but not rock hard I can push them in if I want to... It does seem to me like most gals are overfilled.

why not call PS office if you did not already.... Take care!!! :)
