wahine - thanks for the update and the message of hope...

I asked God for water, He gave me an ocean.
I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.
I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of YOU...
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

I'm back because the FC is back. I do hope that the volume of alcohol that I am currently consuming will make me feel right at home here. A friend from another thread mentioned she liked this thread and hoping I can feel right at home here.

Kathy, thanks so much for the update.  I had a feeling that the decision wouldn't be made today.  I am still very hopeful that the doctors can fix this and Junie will be lounging by the pool very soon!

Stanzie, maybe it was George's birthday yesterday???  Perhaps that's what he was whispering to your guests... "Where's my cake? Where's my birthday cocktail?"  LOL!!!  How did you come up with his name?  We are convinced that my dad is haunting my parent's old house.  After he passed away, my mom had all kinds of crazy things happen.  She would hear some banging on the walls and the cat would even jump.  She went out to the garage and and all of the locks in her car went down (this happened twice).  We heard some strange noises a couple nights after he passed away.  And my niece would point at the ceiling and say, "Look Mama, there's Pop Pop" and the cat and my dogs would often look up at the ceiling, as if something was there.  Anyway, if was George's birthday, then Happy Birthday George!  Wait.... can ghosts have birthdays???

I used to work in sales for a company called Kirsch that made window coverings and curtain rods.  Was it this company? Or can you tell???

DorK, I also read Junie's last posts and it brought chills up my spine and made me sad.  I'm really hoping everything turns out okay!!!!!!

    JUNIE!  JUNIE!  JUNIE!!!!!!

Cheers to all of us girls, here to support one another, as Lori put is so eloquently!

Kymn, can you do some cleaning for me, too?  LOL!  My doctor told me I can't do any housework for at least 2 weeks.  Woo Hoo...  except DH isn't keeping up with it.  He made these huge mounds of laundry in our room and I swear I'm going to trip over them!

Kittycat.....time to reel in a couple of favors.  I am sure that your friends can help out here.

Because you don't want to end up on the orthopedic ward for broken back from tripping over the mess.

I have never been fortunate enough to get a "no housework" prescription.

Welcome Laurajane!  We do virtual here too, but admit to being better with the real stuff. - Claire

Welcome Laurajane, The more the merrier! You will love our Hot Tatties Lounge, the good looking Tattie Tenders (Pants and Jocks), the free casino, swim up bar, etc. Right now we are all pretty down as one of us (Junie) is in the hospital and unresponsive right now. We still have hope as we all love her so much, so just don't feel much like partying right now. We used to have the most fun virtual parties at her house where we would all wear silly lampshades. Please join us in trying to wake Junie up, and send prayers and healing thoughts her way. You can also drink all you want in the bar, by the pool, or wherever. Nice to have you join us! Just let the boys know what your drink of choice is! Junie's is Miller Lite, so we just installed a Miller Lite corner, in the casino (her fav place). Mine is Seagrams/Diet Coke, but hey I ain't fussy.....will drink almost anything! LOL.

Heather, How neat that you used to work for Kirsch! I sold a ton of their rods (all types) when I was a decorator. Was a quality product, but that was many moons ago. I quit working almost 15 yrs ago....yay....when I married my DH he wanted us to travel so much that I couldn't work and travel too....so you know which one won out!

Thanks for the Junie update Kathy. When I was adopting Avery all the gals here sent me presents for her/us which was so extra special for me, being a virtual stranger really and only having this BC journey in common. So, she's very special to us. :)

NM, new puppy's name will be Gracie as in Amazing Grace. I had the name floating around in my head for months before I decided to get a dog. Just felt like my BC journey-although one of the hardest things I have evere done-has also been one of amazing grace.

Kathy..Thanks for keeping us updated on Junie....you are a dear to keep sharing with her DH and with us...

Busy day cooking...1st Shabbat dinner in 6 weeks that we are all in the same place (actually the same country!!!)....I've made soooo much food....making up for lost time.....Roasted garlic, challah, green beans, marinated boneless chicken breasts, mini brisket (1 1/2#), toasted couscous, potatoe knishes (left over from the freezer), sauted onions and mushrooms...still need to make a salad, but everything else is done or in the oven....I want to turn the ovens off before we eat dinner as it is sooooo hot out...we will graze on this food all week-end.  Also baked a cinnamon streusel cake and chinese almond cookies....When I got home on Tuesday, my freezer was bare.....no cookies in the freeezer so that was one of the first things that needed to be done...DH only bought the bare essentials and did little cooking while I was gone.....

Looking for a new cell phone....DD is due to an update, but I will give her my phone and I get the new one...thinking of the EVO....I don't have data and not very techy, so hoping this isn't too much phone, but not many options if don't go with data....Also got a hair cut today....its pretty short....off the back of my neck.....should have DD take a picture...cut 1 1/2" off......

Husker....congrats on being 1/2 way done with rads..the light is at the end of the tunnel....

Stanzie....is the filming all done?  do you get to see the finished results?

DorK....glad that things are healing nicely.....

I"m sitting with the laptop on my lap and I'm getting overheated....

Sending prayers and good thoughts to JUNIE and her family....Be back tomorrow night....HUgs and love to all the loungettes.....

Kristy, What a perfect name for you new furbaby! A testament to your journey. I do love that song, too. Always so touching, and of course gets the tears flowing! So moving.

Karen, OMG, can I come to dinner tonight??? SO much food, and nice that you can enjoy it all weekend and not cook for awhile. I am not surprised your freezer was bare. You WERE gone for a long time! Well actually, my DH is grilling steaks and made salads with his garden tomatoes, so I guess I will stay here tonight. Maybe I will pop in over the weekend! J/K.

I worry a lot about my mom. This afternoon after DH and I got home, she kept calling for this or that. So I realized she needed company; she was feeling very lonely and thinking about changing her ticket and returning to HI sooner. I went over to visit for awhiel, till after her happy hour, and she had food for dinner.. This is the first day we have not done stuff together, and this morning she mentioned wanting to just piddle around her house (her words), so thats why I went to work at the condo. She also forgets things right after they were said. Don't get me wrong, I AM thankful to have her, and to have her doing so well, for her age. But I know when she gets back to Hawaii, she will miss her home here. Quite a conundrum. And of course, I have been so worried about Junie!

Cheers to all you very special ladies,

    Kathy

Wahine, yeah I worked for Kirsch about 15 years ago.  I hated my manager.  She was a real b*tch!  I went to work for Imperial Wall Coverings after that (also in sales).  When we moved to a Las Vegas, I had to quit, but now work for a major transportation company.  It's a good job, most of the time.  I'd rather have enough money to travel and not work, but that's not an option right now!  :)

It's cocktail hour.  I haven't had a drink in a week.  I'm seriously thinking about have a little bitty drink.  Hmmm...  CHEERS GIRLS!

Hi Laura Jean, welcome to the lounge, you will fit right in.

Kathy, my heart melts when you talk about your Mom. I am glad she is doing as well as she is. She must his her DH and of course HI, who wouldn't? You are sweet to catch on that she is feeling lonely after asking to be alone. So sweet.

Husker, congrats on being half way fininshed your rads. Before you know it, you will be done and we will be having a bash in your honor! Congrats on your new furbaby, I love the name Gracie. Can't wait to see pics!

Karen, happy Shabbot. You sure are one busy lady.

Kitty Kat, what a ghost story, the cars locks? Hmm, I would be shatting myself lol. I hope you are doing well.

Beanie, I loved your post and pic, beautiful, just like you!

Claire, I am with you in trying to find that RX for no housework. I am officially now allowed to resume normal activity which means starring at the dust and wishing it away lol. It is not working. The dust will have to wait for my cleaning lady/sister who will be coming by next week. Do you have any weekend journeys planned? And what's for dinner?

Jaybird, I know you are Junie were tight. How sweet that Junie is your dear baby's other Godmother. I am sure Junie was honored. Wishing you and your sweet Avery well at this difficult time. I still believe that Junie will be back at the lounge soon.

Junie, I miss you and hope to see you here soon. I hope you are having a nice nap and sweet dreams. Hunk is here waiting for you and we are going to have the most grand party ever when you come back to us. I love you girl!

I am sorry I missed happy hour. Seems I layed on the sofa for a nap at 1pm and never woke up until after 7pm, ooops. I am actually taking a booze break today, I know I know, don't pass out, it is shocking. I have been taking pain meds and I decided to give my liver a little break.

I am pleased to announce that I am now able to sit up from a down positioin without crying, yippie!! I'll drink to that (iced tea). I think I am craving a bit of morphine, gosh that was good stuff.

I will be at the pool should anyone want to join me.  Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the water feels so good. My body feels so good. I feel so good. Thanks to the lounge staff for the new floats, I just love being pamered.  Will someone join me? I am revving to go!

SOMEDAY you will have more time to travel, just hard not to work when you're young. Okay.....Jocks (he is lonely right now without Junie here) is fixing you an itty bitty drink right now....down the hatch!

Yes I think that is the name of the company! However I think the quality has probably changed a great deal, it was pretty cheap stuff and all made in China.

Kathy - sorry about your mom.....

Yay, Wahiney the Riqsue Queenie! No worries, pants licked up the spill lol. Nooooo long island iced tea for this loungette. I think my last was in the early 80's. Need I say more?

I am shopping batteries for my laptop and getting frustrated. Are any of my tech savy friends in that house? I want to take my battery out and check it before ordering but cannot get the dumb thing out. There is a switch to open the case but damn, nothing happens.  thought I had found a replacement on Ebay but then found another which is a 12 volt vs 8 volt which shows for my model number. I tried to go to HP support and they had no info for my PC.  I tried to download the manual for this one. It is an HP dv73065 Entertainment Notebook. Ughhh. My battery is going down slowly. I get pop ups when I let it drain that it needs replaced. This has been going on since winter but i don't wanna get stuck with my mini, I love this laptop!  These are the tasks I try to complete while on disabiltiy.

I am confused, who is George? I thought it was Stanzie's cat? Sorry, again I have been on morphine and I think my brain is still affected!!

I lift my Arizoza Iced tea up and say "CHEERZ"!!!!! This one is for Junie.....

Hiya Beans! Maybe we should have Miller Lite and Dog Beers on tap? Nice to see you again. Still can dwown our sowwows in da beer.

DorK, Since you can't get the battery out, I have no idea. Can you do a google search with your model number, and see if there is a forum for that one? Sometimes others will give tips on problems and have solutions. Don't listen to me, by any stretch of the imagination! My brain has been fried, and not just on fried-dey.....so somehow I thought George was the ghost, but I could be way out in left field on that one.

Pants, bring us some pitchers of the ML on tap, please! And keep 'em coming, we have to drink for our friend Junie too, since they won't let us sneak beer into the hospital.

Kathy, I was getting impatient with my research as I kept hitting brick walls. Also my PC is running terribly slow and I do not know why. I should probably reboot. But who cares about this now, it is partay time.  ok ok, I will drink ML, how could I NOT?? I will have eight pitures, one for me and the rest for me to drink for Junie. Excuse me in advance if I pass out.

Forgot to mention about Stanzie's job. Very impresssive, I hope we get to see the work when it is public. I would love that. Stanz, I hope things have settled down and your home is your home again. If I ever make my way South to Georgia, I would LOVE to see your place. Do you have a clue how for you are from Myrtle Beach SC? And do you allow onery WD'S? jk, would leave them home.

Cheerz n buckets of beeRZ to our love, Junie.

I need a major ride tomorrow as behind on my cycling miles.  Was hoping to do the Seattle Century, but my ankle is just recovering from last weekend.  Will most likely decide Early AM whether I do that or a conditioning ride.  My ankle is getting better, but I did a good job on it.  Somehow, I am suspecting that cycling events aren't ideal for it either.

DorK....you are welcome to share my steak with mushrooms.  Just got a cab-merLOT blend to have with.  Need to roast some potatoes and of course more veggies.

DorK.....I would take to Best Buy and have them replace the battery for you.  I don't think that much more $$$ and someone else gets to figure things out.

I spent megabux at Staples on printer cartridges and some blank business cards earlier today.  Stopped by a winery I hadn't tried on the way back.  Can you believe the bennies of living in Seattle!  A winery between where I live and the closest Staples (which is less than 2 miles away).

Wine was good too. - Claire

Junie, wake up, look what we have for you. I think she will like this more than any dumb old flower arrangement huh?

Oh purrfect DorK....ML on tap, right in her room!!! She will LOVE it ! Years ago, we had a really nice refrigerated beer tap on wheels (looked like furniture), with a really cool decoration for the tap, prob was for Coors Light. The beer co would give us a new keg to put in it, plus the cartridge to keep it fizzy....was kept plugged in, in our foyer which opened out to view the woods. Of course at first we thought it was kewl and used it a lot, then later it would just sit there and get stale. One of the free perks of being a store mgr! I gave it away after losing my DH, cause that would have been dangerous for me to have it right there, all to myself! Boy it would be neat if I had it now, all the beer we could drink, for all of us.....good addition to our lampshade parties at Junies house....put it right on her deck.
