V you should not take soy supplements with ER+ cancer.  Has something to do with the isoflavines in them.  I read on another thread that primerose oil helps for hot flashed and is safe with ER+.  My RO said vitaming E helps but I have heard both it does and does not so I guess you would just have to try it.

Sherry, good news that your hormone profile is pretty ok, except for the testosterone. This stuff all seems so delicately balanced. I am constantly wondering what makes it go off kilter. Genes? Environmt? Diet? In my case i think ive always reacted strongly to the slightest imbalances. Bad pms while i had it, facial hair, now my high E2 levels while on tami. Dont know. Let us know if you get some insight.

V i also heard about not taking soy. For me less coffee, more exercise and less stress (hah!) help a bit. It is hard, tho.

Tink I am thinking about you today as I know this is a most difficult time.....

Momoftwo How long have you been on Tamox?  My joint pain started like 8-9 months into the Tami.  I didn't have a lot of the SE most people have.  I have only had 1 minor hot flash along with nausea.   Other than that it was more insomnia, constipation, headaches in the first several months.......I heard bananas help as I was having major toe cramping and I try to eat as many as I can and the pain has subsided.....Good luck!

Well ladies we are off to NY for the weekend and I guess we are sharing it with IRENE......really, could it have waited 1 more day and stalled.......NOPE, just my like I will be touring NY in the rain.....I will miss ya all but will check in on Sunday......

Jo are you going to behave this weekend????

    Hi Ladies,

I'm not sure if I was reading it on this thread or another but someone mentioned about hot flashes, I found out about a magnet that works for hot flushes called 'ladycare' it's packaged in a purple case and sits just on the top of your pants it really really works, well it did for me it cost 20 pounds over here in england not sure where it would be sold in the states but over here its a large pharmacy called 'Boots', it does not work for everyone but it did for me only took 3 days and my hot flushes are minimal.

    Hope this helps.

sarah sweety - That sounds fantastic.  Never heard of it but it would be worth trying to look it up on the internet and see if it is available in the US.

    Hi jo1955,

Here's a link to the English Breast cancer website and a thread http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=14734 on the forum about the Ladycare Magnet, it would appear that there was some debate as to whether ladies with ER+ or hormonally charged cancer should not be using the magnet (but towards the last page on the thread) this worry did not out weigh the blissfulness of not having the dammed hot flushes yukkkkkk. Again this magnet does not work for everyone and again this is your individual decision to take whatever you think may help you. Glad you have found somewhere to buy one jo and good luck if it works you wont look back, it is amazing that for such a small thing to have such a huge impact on your life for the better.

Hi my Tammy girls.  I have found (hopefully) some answers to some of my issues that have been going on with me and I think its the Ambien.  I dont sleep long enough for it to take its course in my body.  I only sleep about 4-6 hours on it and thats not enough time for it to do its thing. I didnt take it last night and had no issues this AM like I have had.  I didnt sleep good, but I will gladly trade that for the way I've been feeling. Well I just hope thats whats going on and not anything else.  Ive got a few irons that I just put in the fire.  I'm ready to get ahold of some life and need some energy.  Plus with my new job I need to be able to have focus and I havent had that for awhile.

How is Becky doing Jo.  I know the waiting is always the part of all of this the hardest.  I think also the unknown too.  I know while I waited my mind would run away with me.  Take care and we are here for ya!

Paula66 - Ambien really did a number on me... I found that the next day, even with 8 hours of sleep, I was a hot mess - emotional, weepy - oh my gosh - sooo not worth it for me.  True, Ambien knocks me out right away, but the hangover the next day is too much.  I use Midnight, an herbal drug, that allows me to fall asleep - will not keep you asleep but it gets you there.

V I think thats what I was.  A hot mess.  OMG I felt like I was hit by a Mack truck everyday.  I am not sleeping good, but I will take that over the way I have been feeling lately.  I had no problems yesterday in the AM or this AM.  I will get used to it again.  I have to just learn how to sleep without anything.

Pillow fights and fruity drinks sound good to me.  Maybe some hot guys as well!

Stay safe all you EC gals.  Keep those hatches buttoned down.

East Coast Girls hope all of you are safe or was able to get out safely.  Have not really been listening to the news but am thinking about all of you.  Use to live on the coast and have had to evacuate a few times so my thoughts are with all of you.

misszed hope your neck gets to feeling better

Paula have you tried Lunesta.  Some find they can tolerate it better than ambien.  If you go to there website they have a free trial you can do and if you like it they have where you can get $50 off on each refilll for a year.

Tink hope your arm gets to feeling better.  The nerve damage I have from my neck injury always bothers me when the weather jumps around.  I think the sudden barametric pressure changes does affect out bodies.

momoftwo11 I started having joint and muscle pain form the beginning with tammi.  My MO put me on glucosomine chondrointin with MSM 2 Tablespoons two times daily.  It took awhile but it has helped me.  Every now and then I will get a leg cramp in the middle of the night and I have to jump out of bed to work it out.  Luckily those don't happen very often.

Thanks Sherry for the tip.  I never had to really take anything for a sleepaid until I had surgery.  Thats what lead to the Ambien.  I will check it out.  Enjoy your family while they are visiting.

Here is the update on my friend Becky.  She got the standard form letter in the mail today from the imaging center that said her mammo was negative but there was an area of concern.  WTF!  It did not even say what side was of concern.  She has had cysts taken off the good boob in the past and is hoping that is all there is to it.  She said she is not one to sit back and wait 6 months - whatever it is is coming off now.  So she still needs all our prayers and she is really grateful to have all you gals praying for her.  Will keep you posted.

    Got my pillow ready!!

Hi all, popping in to say "Hi"!!!!

Just an update.  Have appt for pulmonary specialist in Oct. So I have to play the waiting game. Which I am getting very good at.   Have follow up with surgeon, then appt with endoc and then my 3rd monthy onc appt.  Ummm does anyone get fed up of of these bloody appts.  Tamox seems to be the least of my concerns:(

On a postive note I got tickets to go see Duran Duran.  Am I showing my age. LOL

Hope everyone on the east coast will fair well with Hurricane Irene.

    Hugs

    Jules xxxx
