how about drinking?

I am wearing a wool sweater as was chilly this AM.
The most gorgeous pictures Goldie. Thanks so much for posting.
Awaiting Chrissy's arrival. Singapore pix were amazing too.
Funny of the day was that I watch the KLG and Hoda opening. KLG had a green dress on, and the DOTD was also green.
More coordination that I am ever likely to see!!! It would be fun though to be restricted to ordering a "matching drink". Guess I would need some sort of merlot-maroon sweater.
Let's see.....with white wine, you would be wearing NOTHING!!! - Claire

LOL RW at not spilling the beans. You and Kymn both have secrets that somehow we will have to get out of you's!
DorK, I hope you are able to get everything done, with all you've had to drink! Shady Lady is coming along, but I want to have more things done before I take pictures. This weekend DH is going to put the brick down in front of the Shady Lady and the Black Smith Shop (the greenhouse). We won't have the front half INSIDE done, but that's ok, I will take pictures. And you are so right when you say that if it weren't for BC none of us would know each other.
....and you Ms Scuba, just barge in here like you own the place. Go out with DorK, gonna get to meet Chrissy! Gheesh! (Now you must know, I am just kidding and giving you a line of bull. Truth is, I'm jealous!) But you better stick around, or DorK will get her people after you. Have fun out scubaing (that can't be a word, can it).
Beans, you here? I hope so. DorK said she was gonna have her people hunt you down. Have you seen HER PEOPLE???
Stanzie, I wish you and Kathy DID have pictures to share. I am sure it is nice and green and lush there. Here in AZ we don't get much rain at all, but even so, it is a beautiful state. And like I said, my pictures do not do it justice. Was glad that you got the birdie out. I had one of my hummers get stuck in the green house, he wasn't so lucky L.
I see Chrissy has started a thread of her own about her trip. She says that is where she will update and post pictures. Here is the link, I hope it works!

My neighbor that I took for ride, her son has these HUGE compost piles (in which I contribute to) and I get some of it. Well in one of my planters I had this vine growing. I had no idea what it was, but left it alone, as it wasn't hurting anything. Well I noticed a week or so ago that it was getting a bud on it. Well it bloomed, and OMG it was so pretty! So I went over to take some composting stuff to her son, and told here that she gave me a gift and she didn't even know it. I told her the story and she told me it is a Morning Glory and it's an antique one called Granpa Otts. Here it is.

Ok, got the link to work.
But forgot to ask DorK how her A$$ purr ashun went. Was that some good Beanglish?

LOL Lori! Love how you said "A$$ purr ashun"! Shure sounds da same. Thanks for da link for our MissyChrissy.....I just got home so will look at it a bit later. Had a great time w/ g'dau...but I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep wondering how early she would get up. Wouldn't you know this was the rare time that she slept in! Only saw some small turtles on our walk, and dragonflies. THEN got to the 2nd bridge which has a concrete floor under it, and there were all the ducks, having a siesta. We interrupted their nap....about 40 of them emerged. Boy was it hot though! Guess the ducks were the smart ones. Took her to see the animals, birds, and fish at the pet store on the way home. NOW I AM READY FOR PAU HANA TIME!!! Sorry, but I really DID yell that! LOL.
ANyone know what time Chrissy gets onto American soil (or concrete, or airport terminal)? Would be nice to think of her meeting our DorK.....after customs of course.
Bitch, did you get the bird out? We have been lucky when we have had hummies get stuck in garages....so sad as you can't catch them and they wear themselves out. BUT then I can get them and have even fed them with holding the nectar in my hand. Had them perch on my finger, soooooo tiny and sooooo light. They are precious. BUT no idea how to get a regular bird out of the house...we only had pet birds flying in our house, and of course we DID NOT want them to get out!
Slugging down some Seagrams/Diet...anyone joining me???

Yeah good karma for me to find out so quickly that DorK and I have same PT. But then again, with all of the possible sites and resources about BC on the Internet, this is the only one that seemed like home for me. (Note, my older sister was diagnosed IDC 3 years ago, gave me a shed load of info, but not this thread, just shows how different we are!) Am enjoying my summer cocktail with booberry vodka and lemonaide CHEERS to all, have a great holiday. Chrissy, safe travels, I am looking forward to meeting you and playing tour guide next week.

OMG Kathy, I am laughing my fool butt off (lmfbo) Your post shows twice, but in the first one you have Mitch's name off a bit! Please dont' change it, that has to be an all time best typo.
Mitch, you know she did NOT mean that! OMG, I can NOT stop laughing.

YES, SHE GOT THE BIRD OUT!

Joining in for just a minute...
Kathy, I saw that big typo lmao. Right before my eyes, you fixed it. Sorry could not resist pointing it out, was gonna PM you to advise you but I see you took care of it. It is not nice calling one of us the "b" word, still lmao, sorry. Chrissy arrives at 3:45 PM Eastern time. Sounds like you and you and your g'daughter had great girl time together, how sweet.
Will pop in a bit later, need to go out and buy some likker, seems the lounge is out of Jack, hmmm, who drank all my Jack?

"bitch did you get the bird out" ..... can't control the laughter.....
Will read and ketchup later....still cracking up, thanks for the big laugh, i am crying here! Kathy, oh, Kathy, I love you!

AARRGGHHHH....when I hit submit I noticed what I had typed, and quickly fixed it, I mean ASAP. Didn't know it got submitted twice!!! Of all times for that to happen! Glad I gave everyone a laff, but I am horribly embarrased! I always call her Stanzie, but thought I should say Mitch this time.....serves me right!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh I'm literally crying, that is SO hilarious and for Kathy of all people to have done it!!! LOL!!! Oh my! Ok I'll admit it did take me a minute to even figure out what it could be! Thanks DorKaroonie for clearing it up! Oh My Gosh you all are really tooooooo funny! Oh I just adore ALL of You!
Bird is out, sat on a tree for about 3 hours but finally looked out and it was gone and not on the ground. Poor thing it didn't look great! And a Robin too!
Ok Kathy---- so nickname that hubby calls you ALL the time.... well shoot I must have actually heard it! Seems to me I do sort of remember him calling you something but well rats my Mind is totally blank, how annoying. Well, maybe it will come to me...
Lori- how lovely of you to take your neighbor for a ride! That is so sweet, I bet she did have the time of her life!
Dork, so aspiration is tomorrow? I used to have breast aspirations about once a month but I didn't mind too much as that surgeon was adorable - hmm wonder what ever happened to him? Of course he was married with kids so - oh well...
Kymn - I didn't have chemo but I hear what you are saying and I agree with .... beanie? who said if you are not comfortable ask for more time or another onc. However I do think we all have some kind of freak out when we are released as it is just too scary to actually be released after seeing the Doc's all the time. I had a huge fight with my sister after my onc released me as I was totally alarmed and she kept asking why I wasn't happy, what was wrong with me cause as she said "I'm cured" Would that we all were cured!
Scuba - well I'm so jealous of you and DorK and Chrissy getting to meet!!!! Hope you all have a blast!
Oh NM - hope you are well and just getting things back together. Hope your area and your patients were not hit bad. Oh gosh, or your Mom! How did Sadie do? hope you didn't have any Moose as house guests either...
Beanie - Congrats to you and Lori on upcoming anniversarys! That is one thing being divorced that makes me sad no longer to have anniversaries.
AStorm - Yay to getting well and making soup!
Kymn has a secret too... rats, missed that one.
Kitty Kat ! Oh I so hope this is your very last surgery- you have been through so much!!!
My DD is having her piano lesson - Love, love hearing piano playing!
Karen- I'm so so sorry for all the worries and concerns with your Mom and Dad! We are all here for you! Wish we were closer!!! Let us know how we can help! Thinking of you (((HUGS)))

I can't even concentrate to read or reply to anything else, I am laughing so hard.
Kathy, you have deleted, but ohhhhhh girl, you did not delete that fast enough.
I even thought I heard Junie snorting at that one.......no wonder it was raining so hard!
&itch......I mean Mitch, I am so glad you showed up to see that!
OMG..........this is HILARIOUS!

Kathy, you deleted both. Come back in, its party time. Don't feel bad, we love you. Everyone, tell Kathy you love her.
Scuba, hope you are enjoying the laughs here.
I got to the PS and he looked at my back and decided to let it ride for a week to see what happens. I had not even noticed that it went down some. I was touching it a lot when I discovered it but stopped. Yay me, for once I get a break.
Stanzie, what is the aspiration like? I forgot to ask my PS but am assuming it is just a needle to drain the fluid? I hope not cutting. I hope your day got better, you poor thing. Glad you are not offended, be-otch (sorry, could not resist)!
Love you chickies!
0 -
Kathy, WE ALL LOVE YOU........are you kidding me?
You are as much of a Southern Belle as Mitch. Which I think is what makes it so funny!
0 -
OK, Kathy..... waiting to see posts from you... that would hurt my feelings if you really thought I was upset cause it was funny cause you are so sweet, you would never say anything mean which is why it was so funny. Well, that and DorK's responce!! I'm still giggling... Can't tell my kids so don't have anyone else to share it with or tell my kids why I'm tickled!
Aspiration - yes they just use a needle and they would stick them into my breasts and sometimes nipples! Can't say they were all painfree but I never needed any numbing as it only hurt for a minute so they were not bad.... Really! Is your back numb, can't remember what surgery you had but think it was lat. If so my back is still numb a year + out so your's is earlier so no you shouldn't feel anything at all!
Kathy.... oh Riskey oh Wahinnie??? come back, please!

I missed out on all the fun with Kathy's typo. If it makes her feel any better, I posted on Facebook last year that I pooped at the furniture store instead of saying I got pooped out at the furniture store. Not only did my friends make fun of me, I also had to laugh at the irony... I couldn't hardly poop on chemo! I wished I could have pooped at the furniture store.
So, today I decided to look at my foobs in the mirror this afternoon. I was apprehensive because they've been in 2 different locations for a while. I was pleasantly surprised they looked almost symmetrical. The bad one just needs to drop a little. However, the bad one was a little red and warm, like a slight sunburn. I freaked out and called my PS. I'm seeing him first thing tomorrow. I really hope I don't have any infection. I've been taking my antibiotics religously. My fear is that they didn't get the antibiotics in my system far enough in advance before my surgery because of the IV issue. I don't need any issues. I'm so done with this crap!
If I could drink, I would just take a big shot of Jack!!!!

Oh Kitty Kat - I'm glad you have an apt tomorrow.... hope it is nothing to worry about! I know nothing about all that so can't really say anything other than thinking of you!

Just chick-in in - bawk bawk bawk...

Hope everyone is doing okay. I have 5 heavy work days ahead so will need all the dwinks I can get.
Frauline Katrinka...where are you??? Hoping we can all meet poolside for a dwinkie before sweepie!!!
Love and hugs,
Beanie

Heather, I hope and pray that it is not an infection. Glad you have twins, yippee. I will drink anudder jack for ya and hope it makes ya feel better.
My body is sore so me tinks it is time to give it a rest.
Stanzie, what did you call me, you are funny.

just wondering what you ladies are drinking this evening... almost wet my pants!

Well up late (or is it in early?) to the lounge. Lesson learned is to double check spellimg before posting. Am in my home at the beach in Delaware, so quiet here, drink of choice here is Grarnd Marnier (or. Grandma or Grand Mariner as the case may be), think I will have one to finish the evening/start the day - it is a holiday weekend after all!
Drains stil a pain, ace wrap has helped but not 100%, hope no more than 2 more weeks of this crud!
Cheers to all.0 -
GOOD MOURNING, LOUNGETTES!
Sorry to be so long gettng back to the lounge. It's been a bit of a difficult week for me. First, of course, Irene took my power out Sunday afternoon, and I didn't get it back until Tuesday pm. The milk and half-n-half went bad, and a couple other little things, but nothing serious since I moved anything important to the big freezer downstairs that holds thinks for much longer that the kitchen one. Had an appointment with the Onc on Monday (along with the dreaded lupron shot). Told her about the shoulder and arm pain, expecting she'd say the same as the PCP, pinched nerve, muscle tension, somthing like that. The she drops the bombshell on me--since it's on the same side as the beast was, better get a bone scan and see if the pain is from bone mets and a chest x-ray to see if what I've been thinking is my asthma acting up is radiation damage to the lung! So I am rather freaked out by this time. So I drove 90 miles home and took some xanax so I could stop crying long enough to breathe. Appointment for all this was Wednesday. Tuesday I spent in the office catching up on the documentation and stuff I couldn't put in the computer over the weekend because of no power, and discover the program that logs my time and mileage has died. The on-site IP person couldn't fix it so now my laptop is being sent who-knows-where, and they're using a back door method to put my time in, but I may not get paid for that time this pay cycle, which is the one BEFORE vacation of course. And, of course, breaking into tears every time someone mentioned that I looked tired or stressed. More xanax when I got home, thankfully to a house with power so I could take a shower! Wednesdayi drive 90 miles back to the hospital where the onc works, get poked, prodded and scanned, all the while the xanax is NOT helping this time. Managed to get through, drive home, and collapse into bed. Thursday I would not have ever gotten out of bed if Sadie wasn't around. She got me up, but all I did was sleep in the recliner, getting up once in a while to let Sadie or me go potty. Kept looking at the computer and telling myself I need to get on and say Hi, and remembering that Wahine called and will pass on the message that I'm still in one piece. Today I've got scads to do before I go on call, hope I can stay busy enough to not be freaked out waiting for the bone scan results.
If it hasn't been said recently, cancer $ucks.
Today's game plan is to do house work and such alternatring with catching up on the lounge stuff. Sorry not to be funny this am, I'll try to get back to the normal stuff ASAP. In the meantime, some prayers would really help.
OK, I'm about to start crying so I've got to go do something physical. Be back in a while.

Oh NM!!!!!!! I am so sorry! I'm hoping they are just being cautious and it is nothing serious at all! I hope they realize how scared you are and will hurry with the results! Oh what a totally dreadful week! Be more than happy to send up many loving prayers for you! Hang in there!!!! (( HUGS)).
Glad you didn't have other damage but the pay situation isn't nice - hope they can get that worked out before vacation and really hope you get good news soon so you can enjoy vacation!!! Hang in there!!!! So happy you are back and we all look forward to you getting good news! I'm so sorry you have been having such a hideous time.

Thanks Stanzie, and your prayer has worked already. Just got a call from work, they've got my hours in the system so I will get paid--there may be a few things missing, but the bulk of the time is in. One worry releived. I have an appointment next Wednesday to get the bone scan results, I leave for Vegas on the 14th, so I'll know before I leave. Hopefully it will be a busy weekend and I won't have too much time to think and worry.

NM, I am next in line to offer you a hug and prayers are always in order. What a week for you! And yes, CANCER SUCKS. Sure glad they got most of your hours in and you will get paid. My heart just goes out to you, what a horrid week. Praying HARD that everything will be ok.
Astorm, maybe it was the liquid B-day cake?

Scuba, have a great holiday weekend at the beach! Love your play on the Grand Marinier! ......Leave the spell check alone! LOL
DorK, today is the day! Can't wait to hear.
0 -
NM.....I was worried about too much of a "busy weekend", and then realized that yours shouldn't be as "exciting" as the one my friend who is an x-ray tech will most likely have. Which is people who drink too much and decide to go swimming/boating/hiking and then end up in the ER.
Will pray that your results are no more than garden-variety muscle pulls or arthritis.
Glad the time issues got fixed and you will be paid. YAY!!!!
DorK, take great care of our Chrissy. How exciting.
I will be doing a lot of cycling. I think a training ride tomorrow, and then a group ride on Sunday. Monday is the ride my cycling club sponsors, so will do about 60 miles. I really don't like cycling in Seattle that much, but will do it anyway.
I have an interview on Wednesday for some possible consulting work. I know they are looking for cheap labor as have intern positions advertised. I expect to be paid. So we shall see. I think the guy came from Amazon, so that I another possibility....make that connection.
Or possibly in the research arena. Still have one other connection to make for some potential project/contract work. Will see how that goes too.
Hoping everyone has the most fantabulous weekend. Drive safe too. - Claire

Ok, I've been up since 4:00am drank coffee which I don't do often and I've cleaned and cleaned and cleaned - even thought the boy's bathroom still smells horrible not only boy smells and such but now the cat has decided she like to pee in there! It is really bad...... hope it hasn't gotten into the grout. Kathy might have to tell me how on earth to grout!
So another location scout is coming at noon, the reason for the frantic cleaning... I think I'm about done what I'm going to as I'm exhausted - almost said pooped then remembered what KittyKat did/said in that store - LOL ! I'm sure you were teased just glad you didn't actually do that! Yikes! Anyway I don't think this scout is very good. He said they are looking for Cape Cod homes or Georgetown ( which not exactly sure what they mean by that but if looking for brick, then maybe) but it is so NOT Cape Cod! Anyway, nothing may come of it as it is a small budget (rats) and they are not even sure they want to come to Georgia! So, we'll see. I guess getting pictures out there is still the name of the game - sure could use the money!!! Wish I could think of other things to do.... Theatre resume's don't get you very far in real life. Not to mention the MS factor and needing to be home for kids so my ex ,who pays the tinest of tiny bits financially, can work... Ummm?? Called crooked lawyer on my end! Ok, not going there...
So,Labor Day weekend guys! Anybody doing something fun?I'm taking 2 of the kids to see "Into The Woods" tonight. Now regreting not taking my son with DS but the tickets are so expensive and you just never know if it will set him off and we will all have to leave.... always mixed feelings about this. Anyway, now that the house is basically clean hopefully we can have a relaxing weekend!
NM- Yay to the pay! will keep up the prayers... wish they could call you today with good news! I like that idea..... Anyway, keep busy and distracted and Sadie will comfort you!
