JessicaS: I'm sure you'll do fine - I was very nervous about taking that pill and starting by cutting it in half. That didn't last but a few days and then I started to take it in the evening. My only side effect so far (since starting in July) has been very vivid dreams when I never dreamed before. Not a bad side effect! Hopefully the best side effect is that it's keeping my cancer from coming back.

Heading to Miami and then Tampa. Headed your way Barb for that drink at happy hour!....plan on hearing and dancing to Cuban music, seeing the ever glaed and riding a river fan boat (I know touristy..I know...but how exciting....almost as good as whale watching hmm?>) and lots of chat with a good friend...bathing suit packed, bright yellow , too large rain slicker and a book and munchies for htte pane...and the side of the pool. I sooooooo want to lay on a beach and stop thinking for a bit. Lots of fish swimming my.....which one to grab. Keeping my options open and applying in ottawa, a small town in Nova Scotia and considering keeping 90% of my job and taking time off in between CELTAS so I can go off somewhere...that could work really well.

Hi all! The cool down has begun, finally!!!!! Yesterday was so flippen hot and since I started taking the Tammo I sweat so bad. I have never ever been that away. I worked in a weld shop for years and never ever sweated the way I do know. I even had a miny mental meltdown right in the middle of the festival we were at because of it. Here I was starting to bawl in a crowd street fair, WTH, that upset me because Im not like that. Do any of you girls have that problem of not fairing so well with the heat and sweating buckets of sweat like never before?

I am leaking at odd times...i laugh almost hysterically (close to my usual) when I have a hot flash, a laugh comes along with it...crying can be at a moving (wy was i watching a movie about a young surfer who loses her arm!?!?) but I am also crying at commercials so...yeah...I get it.

Yes I have a good supply of books I am reading away. I have one of those e-readers the Barnes and Noble color Nook. I love it ~~ knitting, crocheting no I don't think I have that in me. But I did actually watch Jersey Shore. OH MY !!!!!!!

Hey ladies hope all are doing well......I decided to kick it up a notch and started walking 2 times a day when time allows me too as I am tired of putting on weight. I see my MO on the 12th and hopefully I will get to the bottom of this weight gain......I do not eat much at all, so go figure.....Again, is it one of those late SE's?????
Anyway, miss you all and hope you had a great weekend.....kiss kiss!!

June I hope your MO can figure out what the heck is going on with your weight gain. It was finally cool today so I think I will start seriously get back to walking. It has just been way to hot. These wildfires we are having in Central Texas is devastating. One of my brothers had been watching the fires around his house and finally they got the mandatory evacuation. They are trying to pack everything they can and head to a friends house. It does not look good. Another brother has a small farm about 25 miles from here and they had a manadatory evacuation. He had to get his cows moved to another place that he has and at least was able to get his larger farm equipment off. Good thing he has not built his house yet. Bastrop county has had over 16K acres burn. Over 400 homes and business have been lost and they continue to evacute more. It is about 45 miles from here. Outside it looks like really bad LA smog from the seventies. Ashes are falling from the sky and smells like a big BBQ. I live in town so I know we are safe. In my lifetime we have never had anything like this.

Sherry - We are getting the smoke all the way down here in deep South Texas. The fires were one of the top news stories on our evening news. It is so heartbreaking - all the people who have lost their homes - sending prayers that your family does not lose anything.

Oh Sherry how horribly close this is to you and to have your loved ones being evacuated, soooo scary! My thoughts and prayers are with you all and hope this ends soon......Is there rain in the near future?
Okay so I chose not to talk about my Mom, but reality is she is spiraling down hill fast and we all feel she has given up hope. Please say a prayer that she hangs on just a little longer as I am so not ready to go through this again....too much to talk about, but outlook is very bad. I just knew I could talk to you gals about anything......love ya's!!!

Sherry, prayers for you and your family, and anyone else in TX with these horrendous fires. It seems the rain bypassed the areas that needed it most and is dumping on the already water-logged areas.
And finally, ugghh... the holiday weekend is over and I have GOT to get back to work. I truly do like my work, just am having motivational issues. Best to all of you today.

Well I have heard from the one brother that was told to evacute his home. They packed up but he decided to stay and watch. So far so good. If they winds will just stay down today they will be OK, if not they are ready to leave. Have not heard from the other brother, I do know he got his cattle out and his larger farm equipment but the roads are closed and they are not leating them in. But the worse for him is his land burns and whatever equipment is lost is insured. There is a lady that is the secretary at the probation office down the hall from me and her daughter lost everything in the fires. They had to go get her and her children. We so desparatly need some rain here.

Tink, I am doing lots better with meds right now, Effexor helping the neuropathy, half dose of tamoxifen seems to be OK also. I am going to full dose this week. I am thinking the first time I tried it I was still having lots of pain from chemo, the neuropathy, etc., and may have attributed lots of SEs to tammi when it really was something else.
June, Jo, Sherry, Alicia, Sandee, and everyone else - lots of positive vibes coming your way! I am posting a watercolor I did that was inspired by the complete meltdown I had when I started this journey, and the recovery of the part of my brain that connects the fear centers with the cognitive centers of reason. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks ladies for all the support, I knew I could unleash with you guys. It has only been 3 months since Dad has passed and now Mom......I hope to god she has the strength to hang in for some more time as I am not ready to let go.....I know all she wants is to be with him as he was her everything.....what a love relationship the 2 of them had.....
Anyhow, Linda that does speak volumes like Jo said....
Misszed routine is a good thing. I feel now that summer is gone I am so happy to be in the swing of it again.....
Okay all you wonderful Tammi ladies......hope you get such shut eye and we shall catch up tomorrow....

Well ladies. Just found out that my brother has to have his foot amputated on Friday. He has neuropathy really bad from Lupus and got an infection in the bone. He has had this several times before and they think this is for the best. He had a kidney transplant about 8 years ago and they say everytime he gets one of these infections it risks the kidney. It will be a two part surgery and end up being below his knee. Too much swelling for them to do it all at once. He seems to be doing okay with the idea. Please keep him in your thoughts.
