Joan, I think I agree with you. If you are still having problems with the Femara, maybe it is time to try a switch. The different AI's do have different side effects and different people react differently to each of them. I think I'd at least discuss it with your onc on the next visit.
I, too, was upset when I thought I would be losing my hair during chemo. Before my first chemo, I went into a wig shop here in town and left in tears. The sales lady there was so nice. She told me to come back with a friend. I was lucky, though, as mine only thinned and I did not need a wig. I admire all of you who have gone through this trauma. I can remember some of my friends saying, "It's only hair." I remember thinking, "Yes, but it' not YOUR hair."
Well, I'm off to work on switching seasonal clothes from one closet to another this morning. Then I'll decide that I need some new clothes! LOL

Yeah to new clothes!!!! Wow....I'm not liking ( typical of me ) the coolish weather at the moment. Knowing it is going to warm up we are riding it out....though may turn on the I-heater to chase some of the house chill away. Deer are still abundant in the yard......as we listen to the nuts hitting the roof. We have a metal roof out here so their is no mistaking things ( even something as small as a nut ) that fall on it. I'd be upset but this time of yr. is the only time we hear more consistent noise.
Need to get a dental appt. made today. I've been stalling as I'm taking penicillin and figure they will want me to be closer to done with it.

Brrrrr. Here in Mahomet Illinois. Today is homeComing Parade too! My son is on the float for jr high baseball. Gonna be chilly. At spine clinIc to have si joint checked had painbefore BC but you always worry more after having BC. Might have something to do with sleeping in a recliner during surgeries. Lol

Comfort Food weather!
I went to Long Grove yesterday. I have gone there since I was a kid as my mother loved the little shops. I mentioned the restaurant that the ladies went to for a dinner once. Well, I am in shock as it appears that half of the stores are now empty! So many of our favorite places went out of business! It was actually rather sad.
Rita gave me an idea. Good day to clean out the closets. Have a nice day!

There is always something.. I started feeling pain in my calf on wed.. went away.. then it came back yesterday afternoon and pretty much has stuck around.. nothing intollerable, but there and of course my mind wonders.. My Onc said if it continues I'll need it tested.. I can NOT have this to deal with!! Just hoping for a pulled muscle with Yoga or something..

Makmak, I had shin pain and went to our onc. He said that cancer rarely spreads below the knee or the elbow. He is probably confident it will pass, yet wishes to reassure you that it will be checked out if it does not go away. But do know that cancer rarely spreads below the knees or the elbows. Actually I wonder why. Calves are so much muscle so I put my money on the fact that you pulled a muscle.

Makmak I know I get pain in my calf especially before diagnosis. I too was worried about a clot (because mom has had issue in the past). My mom said I'd know if was a clot. She said it hurts like hell. Also have swelling, redness and warmness.
Granted you should get it checked out but I use to just do stretches, the ones that stretch your hamstring. I actually still do those as well as upper thigh before & after I walk so maybe that's why I don't have the issue anymore. My GP told me to do that although I had already started before I talked to him about this 1.5 years ago. So I too am going with muscle strain.

mak - Could it be a viricous (sp?) vein...internal?
I STILL HAVE trigger finger....ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It's "sticking" in a bent position quite frequently (10-20 x per day). Any home remedies out there that have worked? I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want to avoid surgery.

Makmak I always fear a clot all my life My mom had one so did my grandma. I have had pain before but not red or hot. I know and agree we need nothing else to worry about we have been thru enough. (((hugs)). Breathe.

Ok panic still. 9 days out and my left breast is still way larger than my mx side I am so freaked out he put the bigger implant in the wrong boob. Urgh!!!

Mahometmom first of all (((waves))). My left side is a larger and sits lower than my right and I had a BMX! The left side is the modified radical the right is the simple MX so you'd think it would be the other way around. My PS is fixing this when I get my nipple reconstruction on the 6th. They do change shape for (according to my PS) 6 months. I'm sure once you discuss this with him/her it will be resolved. We sometimes forget this isn't a perfect science and revisions will be needed.

Good Morning to everyone, it looks like it will be a beautiful one. I am heading out to Hilton Head today, one of my favorite places - vacation for a week - need it bad. Gave the cats extra attention and hugs this morning since they will be without their "mom" - even though the cat sitter is sweet and plays with them :-)

Mahometmom -- Took me forever to figure out how to post a pic... bottom line, and I really don't get the WHY of this, your pic MUST be on an internet location, not on your C drive. It will let you update your avatar from a pic on your C drive but not post a pic from it. So you have to post to something like photobucket, then it works.
We are off to Iowa City for a one day trip -- wedding of an old college friend. We are bringing my oldest daughter to the wedding -- the other kids are too busy, and my son was invited to a master class at his music school that he just couldn't pass up, so our nanny gets to work an extra day this week and will be running around like a crazy person, like I usually do on a Saturday!

Jenn --- that is a heck of way to start your day -- losing hair along with a little not so friendly fraud. Just keep knowing that though painful when they happen.....trials will make you stronger and you are one step closer as Laura says.

Really is beautiful out!! Pain still there but not worse and no redness or swelling.. Dh told me not to forget I'm getting up there in age!! I think my other leg may be hurting later after I kick him!!!
Otherwise no plans but to take walks and enjoy the weather this weekend for us...the usual!!0
