bcisnofun--I am 5 weeks PFC tomorrow and the whiskers on my chin are appearing rapidly. I need to shave my legs, though not as often and I have a glorious waft of peach fuzz covering my head. The back is coming in fast than the front. I would like a lit more on my head so that I can truly go topless. I have gotten in the habit of yanking off my scarf while I am sitting at my desk. Sometimes I forget to put it back on and only realize it when I see the shocked faces. Soon enough, we'll have hair, too.

crimson - how funny that we can't get it where we want it, but it appears where we don't (chin/legs). I have no peach fuzz, only stubbles that are hard/pokey. I can't say it's changed at all since the end of chemo, though I haven't taken pictures. how much and what type of chemo did you have?

I am 4 weeks PFC and not a sign of growth yet. I am so ready for my hear to grow back. Those of you who have your hair gr owning back did your head itch prior to it starting to grow? My head has been itching some and I am hopeful that is a sign that it is going to start growing. I have surgery next Tues so I am sure that will slow down my growth too.
Thanks for the pics everyone it give me hope that I will have hair at some point.

margiec - mine is itching too and I'm on board with hoping that means hair is soon to follow!

Hair itching is a good sign. I also got some red bumps as the hair was forcing itself thru =:0)

Carrol, your pics are great! Your hair grew so quickly. I can't believe the difference between pics in such a short time. I am 9 weeks PFC and hair is growing, but s l o w l y and very thin too. But your pics give me lots of hope.
I think the head itching is a sign that hair is going to pop up. Good luck everyone.

Carol,
I've seen your pics before and today they even give me more hope. I am 11 1/2 weeks PFC and I look like you at 13 weeks. I might get my Christmas wish and lose this wig for good!

Yeah for hair growth.

MamaV, I'm with you on the hair growth. I am 11 weeks today and look like Carol's at 13 weeks. I've colored mine and so now it's brown, but I still wear my wig to work. I'm also hoping by Christmas I can go without it, but then it will be cold and probably have to have a hat on. At least this year I will have hair under it.

Wow Carol...your hair grew so fast. I am at 13 weeks and mine looks more like your 11 weeks. It looks similar to 13 weeks on back and sides, but top is fairly think yet. It feels like there is a lot of hair there, but it is fine so it doesnt look like much.
Time to slather on the Hemp cream and will it to grow!

I'm about 3 1/2 months PFC. My hair is growing in much thicker than it used to be and has a different texture. The top reminds me of straw and grows into a point down the middle of the top of my head, creating a "faux hawk" . That may look great on David Beckham but looks terrible on me!
To get my hair to stay parted on the side, I started using a molding clay for hair called "Short Sexy Hair Rocked Out". It comes in a small yellow tub. You can get it at Walmart or JC Penney hair salon. My hair is about 3/4 inches long. I slather the clay on before I blow dry my hair, and then slather more on after. It's the only way to tame the hair. I don't know if my hair will ever return to its previous state. This hair is very different.

I finished chemo February 2, so not sure how many weeks but more like 8 months ago. Still very thin on top to the point that I can't go without hat / wig etc. I have 2 more herceptins and hoping I get some new growth after that, fear I may just get faster growth on the sparse hair. I did womens rogain for 3 months and now mens for a month, seems to make no difference. Not to upset anyone, but to say this is going on with some people. I think we just don't post hair pics cuz there is nothing exciting to post, so don't feel alone if you fall in this catagory.
On a positive note, I did have great luck using the latisse for eyelash regrowth. I didn't have a big loss but had a gap on the side where I had rads and the other side was very thin. Paid the big bucks for a months supply (around $100, there are coupons and call around for best price) that ended up lasting for almost 3 months. I am going to quit and see if the growth stays or not. Instructions say that you have to keep using it to maintain results, but I am hoping I got a jump start and the gap will stay filled in.

Hi Ladies,
I am 5 month out and have enough hair to go without a wig, took some pictures and will have my son help me post tomorrow. Not all of us grow as fast or as thick, my hair is like one of Lago's early shots. I have had a temporary color and it took well. Going today at 5 to get trimmed/shaped around neck and ears. Lost my brows and lashes, but they came back very quick. Also was less than pleasantly suprised to get some facial hair (side burns!). I had them threaded and they really have not come back. The hair on my legs and elsewhere is growing like crazy.
Elaineg--sorry to hear about your hair trouble, maybe when you finish the herceptin things will pick up. Maybe talk with your onc or find a good dermatologist who deals with hair issues. When I saw my onc early this month he said my hair looked good, I laughed, what does he know he is totally bald.

Maria awesome!

Mariel, your hair looks fantastic for 16 weeks. I am envious. I am 22 weeks pfc today and my hair is still only an inch long.

I bought henna hair creme hair dye. I will post pics after dinner and see if you think it is worth trying.

Thanks everyone..I think my hair looks longer in the pictures thsn it does in person..but then I guess our hair always looks shorter to us!..it really does help to take pics of yourself to compare, as it never seems to change to me..my first pics I ever posted on here were about 6 or so weeks and I looked totally bald still..so it does get darker..the white peach fuzz doesn't last forecer (well except all ocher my face now!)

I'm 3 hours PFC...where's the hair??????????????? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

elaineg it takes 3-6months to see results of rogaine. My neighbor is having the same issue as you. We both think it's Herceptin slowing things down. I just past 3 weeks from my last Herceptin TX so I can't tell yet if my hair is growing faster. Also my hair does grow a bit slower in the fall/winter so I might not be able to tell. In the past my hair grew pretty quickly. I don't feel my hair is growing as fast as it did before… so it may be Herceptin.
Marial OMG that's a lot of hair for only 4 months! Are you putting mircle grow in your water?!
