Zap - I have a 5 year old that loves weapons. He was sending his grandma a picture tonight and as he was coloring I asked "what should we draw for grandma?".  He said "guns".  I had to talk him into drawing something else......I don't know why they are obsessed with weapons!

Have fun at dinner tomorrow Lago!

You gals are way too funny...but then I love the conversations that can come from some of these great cloth gadgets.

Hooray-Hooray......my mammo pictures were great.  Nothing in them that shouldn't have been.  I have to admit....I psyched myself up for fantastic results....then had ( of all times ) a few moments of great panic waiting for my results.  Got to thinking.....could I deal with this bravely after telling myself the last few days how good it was going to be.  Would I come apart at the seams from my heavy duty injections of self confidence.  Well, I think I am just going to stay brave and confident.  That is how a person should handle the biggest part of their life.....and this is just another part.  But their was  a great tea-berry shuffle going on inside of me after I heard the results.

I think I do recall some mention of getting results a few pages back I think and the technician ( boy was she good ) had me in and out in no time flat, When we got ready to leave the room she asked me if I wanted the results before I left and I can't recall being asked that before, however, I think I've always known when I left that they were ok.  I want to know everything....including X-ray results asap.  I'm good for another yr.

    Hugs, Jackie

Beauty of a day starting out here.  I hope you all will have some of these almost summer type temps. back for a short while.  I will have a full day today.....but I'm sure it will be a good one.

Lots to do so need to get going, but I am thinking about you all and wishing you well.  See you later when I am caught up.

    Hugs, Jackie

Jackie, so happy for you.  Yes, I think they are more lenient with giving out good news now as they know how stressed we are.  The last few times I got the wink followed by a hug that all was well. For whatever reason, I was worried about this past mri.  I just thought...just my luck I am five years out and yet not free from the villain.  So I was worried, but all is well. Celebrate, Jackie!

Mdg, many boys (not all) seem to be  born with an innate interest in war and guns.....maybe something passed down genetically for survival of the tribes.  I know it is not always a LEARNED thing as so many people teach their kids that guns are not good and they refuse to buy them as toys and boys still want to talk about guns!  I used to do a unit on medieval times and I had visions of castles, and dresses, and foods and musical instruments.  The boys ended up doing models of catapults and guillotines.

Rita, they do sub work via the computer here so I never get a call.  Mine are all in advance and I get to choose what jobs  to do.   Today, Rita, I am a rep for the retired teachers at a union meeting.  They are talking about TRS pensions and their fate in the legislative (annual fall Veto Session in Springfield).   I will pm you if you want to know what was discussed (some teachers really do not want to know what with what happened in Wisconsin).  This is in Crystal Lake so I am glad I have my GPS as I do not know the area.

    Have a great day!

TCH day one went really well. A funny thing: I was hooked up to Cytoxan and got this funny feeling in unmentionable areas! Had to ring the bell for the nurse. The nurse said dexamethasone in the drip line probably was to blame-her doctor calls it hootchie cootchi medicine! Anyway, it went away quickly!

Susan, I'd love to know what's discussed at your meeting about TRS pensions.  It is always a scary topic to me.  I don't know what I'd do if we weren't given our pensions.  Mine isn't alot compared to those who taught in larger schools and more populated and high-paying areas, but I can live on it if I budget correctly.  Thanks!

Now you have me curious, robo.  I need to check out my creams, etc to see if there's any bad stuff lurking in them.

Jackie.....WOOHOO!  What great news!  You can take a big breath now and go on with your life.  So glad you posted the news as I was about to email you and find out how it went.  Hugs!

I'm off to the golf course this afternoon.  The weather is just too great to waste inside the house.

Hope everyone is doing well today!

Jackie I too am pleased to hear your good news.

hootchie cootchi medicine… I wonder if that's what KY is putting in this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51RaiDKObCL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

I know some of my products contain parabens. I thought I read you really need to be exposed to tons of it and they still aren't sure if it's a problem. I will admit my water container I purchased from  Target has "PBA FREE" printed right on it. I stopped microwaving with plastic wrap  years ago. Wax paper works just fine. I do still freeze in plastic but slowly changing to glass. I try my best but I'm not perfect. Hey I have the low estrogen levels of a pre-pubecuent teenage boy. A little more isn't going to hurt Tongue out

    Hi ladies,

I just read through about a week of posts.  The Chicago get together looked like it was lots of fun.  Thanks for sharing the pictures.  I'm looking forward to the December party.

I am on day 3 of my second Taxol.  I get them for the next 10 weeks.  So far, it is going better than the AC.  Still recovering from shingles.  The pain decreased this week.

I attended a 'Look Good, Feel Good' session and had a great time. I believe it was NavyMom that told me about it.  We live in the same area.

I enjoy reading about what everyone is doing.  It gives me hope/encouragement that someday I'll be active again.  Smile  Thanks for sharing and have great days!!

I just finished the Anti-Cancer Book; and looking into carcinogens that are lurking around the house.  I also stopped using plastic in the microwave, but did not realize the plastics were so lethal.  Actually made myself some green tea this morning.

As far as changes to avoid bad stuff, I have made several.  I switched my make up and body care products to be paraben and sulfate free and then I found this website:

    http://cincovidas.com/toxic-truth/ingredients-to-avoid-in-personal-care-products/

So now I realize there are a bunch of other bad things in the paraben free products.....UGH!   As far as make up, I am going to a make up shop in Geneva hopefully next week (Madmom and I are planning to meet up there) and they have a few make up lines that look like they may work.    Here is the website:  http://www.shopodalisque.com/

I have also started using all glass storage containers, changed toothpaste/deodorant, and significantly changed my diet.  I no longer drink from any water bottles....only stainless ones that I fill up.  I am still looking to change cookware too.  I have changed laundry soap and no longer use dryer sheets.  I know I can't avoid everything, but I am trying to avoid what I can.

Wow!  I never thought about dryer sheets and I thought the plastic storage containers were O.K. unless you microwaved in them or froze food in them.  I guess I need to get better educated.

Wish I could join you on Monday, but no dice.  Working instead.

Very sad tonight about the premature passing of Steve Jobs.  I'm sure he would have traded in his billions for a cure...

Waving hi to all before I go collapse....long day for me.  I'm switching to 10 to 12 hr. days for a short while.  A lady quit and we have to cover her time.  It's ok, I can use the pocket change this time of yr.  Had to give two of the dogs their baths tonight too....they were about 4 days overdue.  I'm really am behind in a couple of things here.

Hmmm hoochie koochies......my se's weren't near that intriguing and fun sounding.

I think I'd best do some reading of do and don'ts as well.  I don't do much in the microwave --  I've sort of always had a thing about them.  I do drink out of plastic bottles now and then....not big on make-up, but I like nice smells -- lotions, etc.  I just re-discovered Caress soap.  I'm not going to read the label till the bar is almost gone.  I like liquid soap....but still need bars around too.

Well, off to the recliner before I fall out of this chair.  See you in the morning.

    Hugs, Jackie

Susan...the above is something you will resonate with I think....I sure do.  Hope we are going to have another really fine Fall day --- meaning to me, nice and warm.  Sort of hate seeing winter come but it does have its joys for me too.

Lago....how great to be "almost done".  Hope all goes good today for you.   mdg.....that is a really good link.  We sure have a lot of things to think about -- make-up, plastics, etc.  Now I just hope and pray they don't find out that pc's do something to you......all my favorite friends are in there.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

    Hugs, Jackie
