Probably shouldn't but I'm having a glass of cab....the fast this year was one of my easier one.....rinsed my mouth out with water few times.....had a few sips of water at home, but way, way less than normal.....but as soon as the fast was over had 2 cups of water....our traditional break the fast meal (traditional for my house) is scrambled eggs, bagels, creme cheese and lox (not me anymore!!!).....but now its time for the wine.....
Ready to be in my jammies, but DD is at her gf for a little b'day party...her gf turned 13 today and having some friends over for ice cream.....the girls didn't go over till after 9:30!!! now why they couldn't wait till tomorrow is beyond me, but then again I understand wanted to do something fun on your b'day after fasting all day....
it was cold and rainy here all day today....the mountains and foothills got snow....its 44 out right now.....the high was at midnight last night.....probably going into the 30's tonight, then will start warming up....so glad as we needed the rain....
Hope Chrissy is having a wonderful time in LA....miss her already.....Sweet dreams...Karen

Karen, nice to see you! I know how you miss Chrissy. I heard about the snow there, wow. I am glad you endured the fast and happy to know you have wine in your blood and that your belly is filled. Enjoy that snow, funny it is mild her, now at 57. So neat that so many little girls are having birthdays today, I now know of 5 via fb and bco. Bummer for your DD's lil friend who has to fast every 6 years on her bday!
Kathy, Raquelle risque wisque uhhh i forget the rest, cute that you will freeze the cupcakes til next time, sort of like the wedding cake ritual. Good for you getting to bed early so that you can be an awesome g'ma again tomorrow!!
NM, hope your work day is going well. The moon is nearly full but not quite yet, thank God, huh!
Kymn, hoping for peace in your heart and hope to hear from you soonly! Wishing u a happy happy TG. Is it for the weekend or the day, I am not familiar w/ Canadian TG but find it cool.
And Scuuuuuby Due, like your message format, think me stole it. Oops! You are so right about the Fly guys, saw me some cuties my dern self. I ordered a Flyer's sweat shirt online today, we have casual fridays and I love wearing my team gear to work. Orange is not me until hockey time. What a great day.
Great weekend for DorK, feeling great. Drinking Wodka and Pink Lemmonaide. Danced with Pants tonight and earlier today poolside with DH and ex formal DH, he went in the cold pool, crazy man! I got a little sun - had to nap mid party, sun still whips my sorry arse. Have a new breast friend today, a gal from work, also has had BC and was a close friend to my dying or now deceased friend Cindy. We have not gotten an update but assume she is at peace now. My new breast friend is grieving hard and she said I made her smile when I left her a goofy first time voice message - that warmed my heart. She thanked me over and over for calling. I do'nt often get close to coworkers, for a good reason, but make exception for my BC sisters as you girls are simply special. Something about having "been there, done that" that makes the relationships so special.
Chrissy B is in Los Angeles, wow, how exciting for her. Wish we all could've taken the bus and joined her there. She is the most magestical, most beautiful human I have ever known. In my eyes, she is a Saint.
Missing alot of girls here, you know who you are! Someone join me for a quick nightcap?? Pants is with me now btw, that is what you gals get for leaving me alone with him for six hours today ha! love ya goilies. CheerZ!

I'm up way too late......but napped too long this afternoon....also feeling anxious...so do i have more wine....or get in bed and read.....think I'll try the 2nd choice....reading The Helper....its a great book, but my progress is slow.....need to clean the downstairs bathroom and get DD #1 old bedroom ready for her and SIL...they arrive Tuesday morning for a week. Also need to start doing some cooking.....hubby wants another honey cake is finished...DH wants a streusel cake and/or rum cake....also need to bake 2 or 3 batches of challah to put in the freezer for the end of the week.....and bake a couple batches of cookies and figure out my menu for the next round of holidays which begin Wednesday night......we are going out W and TH for dinner....home for lunch TH and F and no company....Company for Shabbat dinner and Shabbat lunch.....then the following Monday for DH b'day.....then tomorrow night, I need to do some work for work....so sounding like bed is the right choice...its after 1:15am......

Morning ladies!
Karen, hope you got some rest, sounds like you will need it with all of that do get done. It is beautiful here in Philly today, errands all done yesterday, need to figure out what to do with the day. Other than PT stuff, which I am starting now. Can definitely understand a 13 yo wanting her birthday on her birthday!
To start, definitely Minosa weather (bloodies are better in the cold, at least for me!). Not qite ready to hit the HTL buffet. Pants, a Mimosa please!
Cheers all!0 -
Morning ladies! Just checking in, it has been a long weekend! Looks like I missed out on a lot! Course, once I got to the HTL on Friday, I hit the shots, then crashed in the hammock. The lampshade on my head made it much easier to sleep, plus the foot and leg massage.....anywho, good times! Hope Kerry enjoyed the bash!
I spent the whole day yesterday with my daughter and her friend at the Louisville zoo. We had a nice time. Then came home, cooked dinner, and had a bonfire with some yummy fat marshmallows! DH set up a tent in the backyard, and they all slept out there. He even put en extension cord out for his c-pap machine! Gotta breathe, lol!
Me? I came in, poured a fat glass of wine, and watched a little tv, then took my melatonin and slept like a baby!
DH Is now making breakfast, and girls are watching tv. Asked Riley (DD Aubrey's friend) what she thought about sleeping in a tent, and she smiled from ear to ear. It was her first time! They're 9 btw.
So glad I opted for the indoors, my whole body is sore again today. Have to get up slowly and walk around a bit, stretch, then if all else fails, pop a pain pill. Will be so ready to feel better. They say "it's just gonna take time"!! How much time? Will be seven weeks tomorrow since last treatment. Please say prayers that my WBC is up so that they will schedule my surgery. Sooooo ready to move forward. I'm 38, feels like 90!
Karen, all that cooking is a job! But sounds so yummy and good, they will truly appreciate it, Fo Sho! And are you reading The Help or the Helper? The Help is one of my favorite books ever! Also loved Sarah's Key. Would love to find a good book to read right now.
Scuba, thanks for the pics! Nice to put a face with your posts! Still trying to figure out how to do that. Was able to take a pic with my iPad last night of my propped up feet with glass of wine beside, and fire pit in background. Uploaded it to FB no problem!
Dork, when you get ta drinking those posts crack me up!! Love em! And do think you and Kerry look much alike!
Wahine, our dogs also slept in the tent last night, loved it! An Irish coffee is sounding tasty right now...
And as for the weather here in Kentucky, beautiful! 70's during day, 50's at night. Looking forward to another great day today. Hopefully I will finish painting this damn kitchen!! Also need to get out all the Halloween decorations. Thinking about going as GI Jane this year, as I have the hair for it right now, lol. Come back hair! Miss you!
Happy Sunday peeps!0 -
LOL, enjoyed your post, Allison! What fun for the girls (and your DH) to camp out in the tent, and with the dogs, no less! When I was a kid, the tents did not have floors, and were basically 2 flat pieces that buttoned together, then you had the 2 tall poles inside to hold it up, and stakes all along the side. SO, my dog Laddie (male that looked like Lassie) would want to get close to us, and in the middle of the night, he sometimes would LIE on the side, right on top of us little girls!!! And of course it was a PIA to try to get it back up! Fun times, though. OH, you're having nice mild weather, like we are. Just beautiful, simply gorgeous!
Karen, OMG you bake more than anyone I know....all of it sounds so yummy! Glad you made it thru the fast ok, and loaded up on wine when it was over...LOL. Cute that the girls got together so late, on her b'day....I don't blame them either.....doesn't feel like a birthday when it is after the day.
DorK, I only froze 1 cupcake, and just till my g'dau from TX visits so she can have it since we made it on her b'day. Not sure if they will be here this month, or next. Glad you had some pool time yesterday! Nice that you can be close to another bc coworker....she can be inspired by your progress.....and know that she can be OK!
Having a mimosa with Scuby! So nice to be camped out by the mimosa fountain. Today is my "anniversary" (monthly one), but next month, in Ireland, will be the official one! DH usually gets me a card/flowers every month, but he forgot...we have been busy lately, and he has tried to do things with my dad. My dad has been working outside patching areas on HIS house....amazes me what all he still does. Only place his age shows, is in his hearing, or lack of. The hearing aids help, but at his age, we still have to talk loudly. He and DH watched the BAMA game last night, and they WON again....yahoo!!!
ChEARS dears!

Making this short, as I have to get moving, slept in til almost 6:30! Going to be a beautiful day, and I have cleaning, laundry and outdoor chores to do. Leaving Friday for Phx and flying out Sat to TN. Went over to our neighbors last night after we got home from town, which wasn't until after 3, so all day in town!
Kerry, I sure hope you were able to enjoy your day and fun here at our party for you.
Scubbbbbbyyyyy.............so nice to see you, and so pretty in pink too! I love seeing what my breast friends look like.
DorK, sorry about your friend and the fact that you have to assume her time here has ended, but making a new friend is always nice.
Love all the bloody mary's NM and oh boy....what a cake!
Kathy, sounds like you have had so much fun with your GD and as always, I am jealous!
Need to run and give my mom a call, she is back in the hospital.
Tiddy Up and Giddy Up..............love it, thanks Dork!

Just a quick good morning and hello, just read, no time to write, off to church, will post later but know I will pray for all of you. Already enjpying another beautiful day! CheerZ!
0 -
Oh dear, Lori, I hope your mom is okay!!! Please let us know how she is doing.
Thanks DorK, for all the prayers you sent out, for all of us. You are so sweet to remember us all. Hope you can send some up for Lori's mom, too.
0 -
Lori, said some prayers for your mom. Nice to see you. My wish is that your chores go fast and you have some Lori time.
Allison, I will pop into the HTL chapel and say a few more prayers for you and hope that your pain goes away. Also praying for your wbc count. Glad you had fun at the party, I saw you sleeping in the corner but did not know it waas you since your lampshade was over your eyes. You are great here!
Scuba, I just made a vodka and pink lemonade and will be by the pool again. I hope you find something fun to do today other than PT. I did the fist PT thing at church, have done it before there.
Kathy, happy 9th of the month to you and your DH! I hope you celebrate. I hope that you can take a break from painting, running the saws etc etc. You are something and also make me feel lazy.
Karen, any progress is good, keep the faith and all will get better. I pray for you often.
I am still really enjoying this weekend and will not dread tomorrow until later. A good serman at church about work and I will try to take it with me tomorrow and not hate being there. Only eight work days left until I go out for the next surgery. Me tinks I am addicted to propothal lol, that is one thing that makes me look forward to the day. Really though, I have been bumming out over the continuing pain I will have, seems it will be with me through 2012. I try to look at the bright side and know I have the gift of life, that is what keeps me strong and that This too Shall Pass, that is so true and I live by it.
Hello to all the ladies who are missing... won't to mention names out of fear of hurting someone. Know I love you all for what you each bring to me and all me gweat fwends. You MIA chicks know who you are and know I miss you, darn it, just say hi, that is all I want.
Well time to get in the sun but just a bit and maybe even into the pool for a jog in the shallow end, lesson learned, still paying the price for taking that one dive. I can be so dumb. Water temp is only 70 but it is already 80 here, I love it! Scuba, feel free to join us, we will have the Eagles game on too! Love you chickadees.
Have a great day girls and drink tons of likker!

For any of you girlz that have not had a chance to follow our Chrissyb's Journal thread, here is the link to the article that appeared in the San Antonio paper today. Too bad the picture does not show up on the online version, but really a good article. http://www.mysanantonio.com/life/article/Traveling-Pants-sisterhood-provides-support-2206575.php
I am exhausted....ended up working outside and cleaning/organizing the shed today, plus spray painted the inside of my "Radio Flyer" wagon, as it was getting rusty! Thinking of having an early happy hour then maybe going out for steaks. FIRST I need a shower...LOL.
Lori, How is your mom doing??? So nice of DorK to say special prayers for her in church; I am saying prayers too, and sure hope she is ok!
Hugssssss,
Kathy

The traveling pants article was great, but Chrissy's blog is so much more of the story. Kathy - sorry you are exhausted, hope the shower helped. Personally, am headed for the hot tub, the Eagles lost and i finished my PT on the deck.
" They said I could start lifting light weights, didn't say what type of weight it was. DorK, am virtually coming over for a swim - what a beautiful day in October!
Lori - prayers for your Mom, hope all okay.
Cheers to all the HTL ladies - hope you all have Columbus Day off tomorrow, if not, may it seem like a Holiday!
Seeing my BS tomorrow, not expecting much, PS is Tuesday am, hoping to find out game plan for fills and exchange surgery. Tamox not here yet in the mail, maybe it got lost?!? NM - hope I can confirm Maine visit for Christmas soon.
Scuby Luv....
0 -
LOL, I like your choice of weights to lift, Scuby! You must've had your scuba gear on, as you were the only one who was around before I got my shower! Hope the others will show up now!! I am not offensive now, really I'm not. Nice and squeaky clean. OK should I start getting jealous yet??? Sounds like you might get to visit our NM this Christmas? How neat is that!!! Hope it works out. I am hoping to get to meet up with Lori this month....will have to see as the date gets closer, but hoping it will work out.
Forgot to mention.....remember Junie's newest grandchild, and how happy we were for them? And how excited she was? Well, I not only got to see her precious grandchild, but today her grandchild was baptized! Bob went up to KC for the weekend, so he also got to see Kerry on her birthday. I know Junie was with them!
OK, no one had to twist my arm, but its ALMOST Pau Hana time on the East Coast, so figured it would be ok if I started early. After all at the HTL, it is ALWAYS Happy Hour! Cheers!

Kathy, yeah, turns out DH's Mum lives not too far from NM. We are hoping to be up in December, but that is pending exchange surgery date. Maine is so huge, it is HTL good luck that she is that close. Never went to Maine until I dated DH, it is so spectacular there, always enjoy it. It is is worth the trip.
Glad the shower helped, hope the cocktail did to, per my picture, my DOTD was fancy beer. Your pick otherwise.
So good Junie's family can have some happy events to co e together with. Helped my family a ton when a nephew was born 2 weeks after my Dad passed away. Bittersweet, but it brought is together with a good thing to focus on.
Hot tub time, oh Jock, my chilled beer please, and I might need a chin strap to keep me from sleeping in the hot tub, the one in pink to match my bathing suit please!0 -
Scuby, I'm having Seagrams/Diet Coke.....but fancy beer is good too!!! I can think of other ways that Jock can keep you from falling asleep in the hot tub.....

! Thats neat that your MIL lives near NM....what a small world! *ka-chink*, here's to ya! 0 -
Took me 2 hours to clean the down stairs bathroom and get the bedroom ready for the kids....DD and SIL arrive on Tuesday morning....of course DS gets displaced from the bathroom as the only entrance is through the bedroom.....but goodness he is a SLOB!!!!!
Took DD#2 looking for boots today....you would think DSW was giving them away with the crowds after a rainy cold day yesterday....found new snowboots for me, but will check it out on ebay.
Not having a good day today....is it too early to start drinking at 3:30pm???? of course it is in real time......Had a really great couple days so was feeling pretty up, so not sure whats going on.....Need to start cooking for the next holiday so going to start my challah...need to make 3 batches.....will check in later....and will wait till at least dinner time to start pouring the wine.

RAQUELLE, pau hana started here at 1 pee em. How awesome is that article on Chrissy? Can not believe that you are still going 150 mph, my cave could use a cleaning, can ya help? Thanks for posting that link.
Scuby do, what about contacting Robin Roberts from GMA and going National with this? Am I drunk in thinking we could start the publishing rightsto Chrissy B's book and movie? lol. She is such a star! But really, what a better time than Ocober, me and your birthday monfs! and also awareness monf for all us gweat ladies! Do you wanna quit your job and partner up with the DorKster?pic of youis gweat, I see the bridge in front of you, awesome stuff!
I am bothered that many regulars here have gone MIA. Is it something I said??? I know me gets dwunk a weee wittle bit too muchest. Risa can attestify, she know I been a dwinking cuz she here but she napping on a hammock. She forgot her scuby gear though and was too wimpy for the cold waters. Oops. but I portended it was her helping me drunken washing my blinds from the side of the pool, what a great idea Risa, I meens Lisa to wash the blinds from inside the chilly water.
Goils, should I wake Lisa up, she is passed out, she dwank too much but sed she would be back.
Wahiney, RW, RLR (?), are u still happy hour pau hanaing? Can u find the mia's? Or do I need to send me peeps???
Drinks for all.....cheerz! you gals rock!

Hi DorK! I know....where did ebberyone go? Hope we didn't chase dem off! Nah, let Lisa sleep, as long as she doesn't sleep in the hot tub! Ya know, do ya member when I got my blood work and found out my B12 levels were OVER double what they should be? Me tinks dats why me has had soooo much energy this past year! So until the new 2500mg B12 arrives (or maybe its 2500mcg?), I have taken the 6000mg(?) every other day. The days I take it, I am like the energizer bunny. The days I skip, well....my energy really lags. Also saw the dr on tv today who said B12 can help with memory (yay!). Darn......I finished my pau hana....gotta stop at 2, or I would go all night!!! Good way to wash the blinds....lol. That would be kewl if you got a movie started about Chrissyb's journey across the US and meeting up with soooo many bc girls! Awesome.
*ka-chink*, toasting to you too, Dork! (Except my glass is now empty
.....)0 -
Took some pics today, in the backyard. These flowers are next to the hot tub. The lantana is about 5' tall, and 5' wide, and this variety is a perennial. Never planted asters before (I think thats what the purple flowers are...LOL), but the plants are huge and covered in flowers!

Hi LadieZ,
Just dropping in quickly as have had a whirlwind weekend. Finished the crash and burn assignment for a new client, and she is thrilled. YAY!!!!
Plus, I hit the wine bar Friday evening, did a 50 mile ride yesterday with 1800' of elevation climb. Did a 30 mile mostly flat one today on one of my favorite routes. Slid into church in the AM.
Finally got a soak in the tub as muscles were complaining. Yesterday's ride was a new route, and the most fab view of the Green River Gorge at the midpoint. Plus we coasted back from a lunch (needed real food).
I have to get back and work on something I promised a friend/potential business colleague of mine. So signing off. Hoping everyone has a great evening. - Claire

Quick pop in for a drink, wanted to tell you all that my dear friend Cindy passed away shortly after 11 pm last night. I just got the cal. It is going to be a sad day at the office. Please all, make each day count, we never know what the next day will bring. I pray that it does not hit any of uss but that FN rat bastard is FN evil and I am mad. Sorry to be a downer. Love you chicks.

Good morning, Loungettes! I had a FABULOUS time at the reunion Saturday evening/Sunday morning. Took me all day yesterday to recover! Reconnected with some old friends, danced, laughed, and had a great time. My feet and my cheeks STILL ached from overuse! And Sadie got to visit with Auntie Linda and get spoiled, so she's happy too. I've got to get some pics up on facebook later, and I'll probably pop one or two on here, too, if I find any that I dare to share. . .

Wahine-hmm, I didn't notice the guys in the background taking the pics of the guy in the cake. Guess I'd better check my posts more carefully, huh! So nice you got to see Junie's grandbaby! Babies, baptisms and weddings are proof that life does continue. . .
Goldie-glad all was clear with the scope!

Scuba-I think the pic is cute! What was the second place prize? The contents of the box or the holder of the box????? Oohh, I LOVE your version of weight lifting! Are those beer bottles or wine bottles? I never could learn to like the taste of beer, but wine, yup, that's my drink!

DorK-I had last weekend off to go to my high school reunion on Saturday evening. Supposed to go from 6 pm to 11 pm, we left around 1 am Sunday. . . Nice to not be working during a full moon weekend. The full moon was a nice touch for the reunion, though. "been there done that" relationship is special, isn't it?

Karen-no such thing as "shouldn't drink" in the HTL! Everyone gets to drink what they want, when they want, with an endless supply of DOTDs for those who want to try different things! Glad the fast went well. Some of the higher peaks here in Maine got snow recently, too, and the ski resorts are starting to open up and even talk about making snow soon. Then it got to 80 this weekend! Not sure if they still have snow or not. And it is NEVER too early to start drinking in the HTL. It might be too late to STOP dwinking, but never too late to START!

Mrs. Vino-I'd say welcome to the "I'm only in my 30's (or 40's or 50's) but feel 90 club" but it's not one to celebrate joining. It does get better, and the more regular exercise you get the better it is. I'm not the exercise maven that Claire is, but when I make sure to get walking in I notice I feel better overall, not just in the joints. That and Tylenol and Aleve go a long way.
before Arimidex, Femara, whatever:
After:
DorK-I am so sorry to hear that Cindy has died. I believe that she is now at peace, happy and pain free, but that doesn't the people she leaves behind aren't hurting and grieving. You, Cindy, your coworkers and Cidy's family are in my prayers.
I'm heading out to the poolside minosa fountain
with an Irish Coffee in both hands
to stake out a table
before I go check out the breakfast buffet--
DOTD: The Weekend Recoverer"
1 oz Lemon Vodka
1 oz Peach Schnapps
2 oz Mandarin Juice
1 tsp GrenadineDirections
Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass three-quarters filled with broken ice. Garnish with in-season fruit, and serve with a short straw.0 -
Dear Dorothy, I am so very sorry to hear that Cindy has passed, and am thinking of the pain and sadness her family is feeling,as well as you and all her friends and coworkers. Even though she is in a better place now, it does not take away the heartache you are feeling. Can only imagine the sadness hanging over all of you at work today. Today was the day I married my late husband, 31 years ago...made me sad when I woke up as it was on my mind. So I feel especially sad for Cindy's husband and her children, if she had any. God Bless You today and bring you comfort. (((HUGS)))
NM, Yummmmm, think I will join you at the mimosa fountain after my Irish Coffee....then to devour that huge buffet! NO, don't check your posts over b4 posting, they are all SUPERB!!! So glad you had a wonderful time w/ your high school alums! Sounded like a MAHVELOUS time, and am glad you were able to take the weekend off. Especially being a full-moon weekend! That cartoon of the baby being baptized was sooooo funny! Wonder if anyone really would say that....nah.....hope not!
Thinking of all you girlz today, and wish I could take the pain/sadness away from those that are hurting today. But I can't do that, but do have you all in my heart. DorK, especially thinking of you today.
Love n Hugs,
Kathy

Morning all, quick check in, heading to see BS.
NM, it is beer, but I am an equal opportunity drinker, it's all good by me!
DorK, know you are sad. Will give you a real hug Wednesday, for nowadays virtual one!
Kathy, can't imagine, our 20 year wedding anniversary is next month. I have been so bummed that this stupid BC messed up my travel plans, maybe I oughta stop and think how lucky I am? (The Galapagos will still be there next year!)
Cheers!0 -
Scuby, good luck at your BS appt. Thanks......he has been gone over 19 yrs, and I have been remarried, will be 14 yrs next month. But my late DH was my soul mate, so I think of him every day, and miss him. What day in Nov is your anniv? YES, next year you can do the Galapagos! And who knows....maybe the GBR too!!! Cheerio!

I don't know if anyone would actually do that at a baptism, but I certainly wouldn't want to be the next family to baptise a baby if they did!
A couple of pics from the Reunion:

Me and one of my best friends, Jeanne. She and I were best freinds through high school and our first 2 years of college. The she went north and I went south to finsh our degress. We reconnected through facebook just about a year ago.

Jeanne, Me, Lisa and Randy.
Had to stp outside on the balcony to warm up, the AC was turned up HIGH!
